The German people has to shut up and sit very quietly when talking about

killing democracy, although it has been 70 years since, the world hasn't

forgotten how they massacred democracy, literally.....

Shut up for ever ??? If you think so, a lot of nations should shut up because of their previous history, especially within the last 7 decades.... .

It seems you won't recognise that there is a difference between the German democracy of today and the dictatorship of 70 years ago. If you open your eyes without mindcuffs you will detect signs the USA are going into the direction where Germany has been 70  years ago.

Do you need examples? Read all the Trump TV threads unbiasedly.

This image above symbolises the potential and danger of the actual situation in the USA and that of the near future under Trump and his cronies. That is not a reason to play the old Nazi-game. The world would like the USA to have the same rules as Germany to avoid such a sick character as Trump.

BTW, is that a real democracy when the President is not chosen by the majority of the votes?

Allegedly, Mark Twain had something to do with the quote as well.  Seems to be attributed to several people.

To get back on topic though, I think that problem is that there is evidence that cyclical climate shifts have been going on for hundreds of thousands of years.  The evidence for that is locked in the antarctic ice cores and elsewhere.  I don't believe that there is too much disagreement that the global climate, overall, is currently in a warming phase.  The issue really is in deciding if the man-made contribution to this is significant and, if it is, whether we can do anything about it.  I suspect that the answers are 'not really' and 'very little, if anything'.

I don't have any problem with trying to reduce man-made pollution levels - must be awful in China - but we shouldn't assume that by so doing we are going to cure 'global warming' or have any significant effect on 'climate change'.

Climate Change is NOT Global Warming -- and therein lies the confusion.  Of course the climate is changing, but whether it is heading for some catastrophe is not predictable.  Man likes to think he is in control of his world, but that has been disproved so many times now it's laughable that people believe the 1% or so that man is adding makes any significant difference...

The USA has some religious, science denying groups still believing the earth is not older than 7.000 years or so. In the middle ages scientists have been blistered by the Roman Church for their believe that the earth is not the center of the world. Nowadays people with a childish IQ deny global warming although there are strong signs for it.

    Cyclical climate shifts!? Maybe.

But was the last cyclical climate shift (– at that time -) caused by human activities

    • sending large amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

    • burning fossil fuels to produce energy, from which the majority of greenhouse gases come from

    • from deforestation,

    • industrial processes,

    • some agricultural practices also emitting gases into the atmosphere.

    or by an asteroid????????

There have been different reasons for a shift. For example, when an asteroid has hit the planet earth.  Was the last one  a cyclical one?

In fiscal 2016 the US apprehended 530,000 illegal immigrants entering the US. A majority were from countries OTHER than Mexico, including Iraq, Iran, and other Middle Eastern countries.

Thanks for for the offer of help Mexico but I think we'll take over now.

Any other county on the planet would have build it long ago.

    You are right.

The former communist DDR (= German "Democratic" Republic) did it to protect itself against the "enemy".

Trump does it now to protect his trumpis(s)m.

His schizoide character is going to become obvious day by day. Only one example. These before tolerated illegal immigrants are only a tiny part involved in US crimes. If he would be consequent in fighting crimes he initially had to fight the gun crimes in the USA, the absolutely highest in the world.

BTW, why does he not mind all illegal immigrants? The not-criminal immigrants seem to be very useful for the US economy, although they are illegal. Schizo-demeanor, illegal immigration is legal, if useful. What did we hear from Trump's underlings: there is an alternativ truth. The USA will need a new dictionary under Trump.

If you read the topics on the web page of NATO you'll get information about some „achievements“, including Afghanistan, Iraq. It's in general advertising and self-justification.

The USA and GB have been very angry that some European countries didn't like to be „NATO“-members in the fabricated Iraq war. That means some NATO-members tried to abuse it's rules, tried to abuse them for their own interests (in Iraq for OIL !!!). Among the rules:

NATO is a crisis management organisation that has the capacity to undertake a wide range of military operations and missions.“

Surely, Iraq war was a „crisis management“ ??? But when the NATO was urgently needed in Syria it plunged like a duck into the water.

Concerning the Gulf of Eden, you are right, NATO did the job. But, do you need the extremely expensive NATO for actions like this? We have the UN. And if Trump would change his mind about NATO, don't you think that he wouldn't try to abuse the NATO (again)? The conservative German party (CDU) wouldn't mind. Defence minister von der Leyen shows already a poodle-like behavior.

Nor is Germany's payment into NATO, when the heck are they going to pay their bills? They like to shoot their mouth off, but they can't seem to open their wallets, they aren't exactly poor either. Maybe since they are only paying half the bill, the US should also pay half their own bill from NATO, then we can keep this up until NATO is actually completely obsolete.

You forgot only a little bit:

Germany doesn't want to be world's policeman nr. 1

Leaving NATO,  no problem.  NATO ---> very useful for the weapon lobby and industry. Please tell me one positive NATO action !

Not with Donald Trump. Standing in front of 10 US flags, with his daughter Ivanka to one side of the stage, he was itching to talk about the story - almost moreso than the jouros. He was loving it, if you sent this guy to Pamplona for the bull run he would quite possibly run towards the bull. And the beast might as well, in such circumstances, do a quick U turn and gallop to safety.  You American's really are lucky to be rid of Hussein and get a real man.

When I say this conference in full length, Trump standing in front of (so many) US-flags I had the impression this egomaniac was farting against the flags symbolizing a lot of US values.

  8. Germany has had a (Nazi) despot, nowadays Russia has one, Turkey has one, Zimbabwe has one.

And the USA are going to have one, who thinks the government is the same as his private business.

He isn't fare away of the mentioned Nazis.

    • Like a young apprentice who knows all better than the experts

    • theatening US companies with punishment for overseas investments so that they already exercise kissing @rse

    • denying critical questions very angrily

    • lack of knowledge in details

    • lack of attaining knowledge of new objectives facts

    • loss of memory; forgets what he yesterday talked about

    • egomaniac

    • without self-control again and again, as demonstrated during this press conference

    • no interest in reading, what means no interest in learning new things

    • prefering his own interests at first, people's interests are second class

    • and the list goes on

Will he change his attitude(s) in the future? Seems impossible

Just another leftie with a pretty face. Recipe for disaster.

Wait for the time after January 20 and you will remember the outstanding qualities of your former First Lady Michelle.

After January 20, you will see a pretty label on a wine bottle, but inside only air. In contrast, before you saw a pretty label on a bottle with an excellent wine quality inside. Michelle was a diamond for her husband and the USA. And some blind righties would like to throw dirt on this gem.

BTW, the former First lady didn't have to tolerate a pussy grabber.

  10. What is a „nanny State“ ?

Very easy. The state treats people like a „nanny“. The legislative (parliament) is the nanny and you, me, all people of a state are the children who need some protection and regulations for possible and real conflicts. Therefore you need the law or regulations.

The regulations are based on many criterias, i.e. Social, political, religious, moral, ethnic, economical, juristic standards. … etc. To have or to win a consensus for all these standards is like talking to all people in the world in a single language which the people won't or cannot understand.

To reconcile so many different ideas, feelings, beliefs, is impossible, especially in states which are like melting pots. Between people of different nations it's still more difficult.

The gun lovers are against the weapon restrictions, the muslims shouldn't drink alcohol. The US republicans, muslim states are against abortion, the US, and European „liberals“ not. These are only a few exambles showing that there is no consensus within the same nation, continent, maybe neighbours or even friends. Because conflicts cannot and should't be resolved violently, therefore we need some or a lot of regulations which please some people and others not. But we need them.

Out of my viewpoint it's better to have more than less regulations to be protected in a legal way, at least. Law is nothing but rules based on many criterias. If you don't have rules you cannot play a game, if you don't have regulations you cannot live in peace. You need them against the bad boys ignoring normal human standarts.

For me it's a laughing stock that people refuse abortion (to save life) but are pro-gunners. Oxymoron. Hereby you recognise already how illogically people are who hate the nanny state.

In the 5 counties that encompass NYC, (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Richmond & Queens) Clinton received well over 2 million more votes than Trump. (Clinton only won 4 of these counties; Trump won Richmond)

Therefore these 5 counties alone, more than accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote of the entire country.

These 5 counties comprise 319 square miles.

The United States is comprised of 3, 797,000 square miles.

When you have a country that encompasses almost 4 million square miles of territory, it would be ludicrous to even suggest that the vote of those who inhabit a mere 319 square miles should dictate the outcome of a national election.

    What an abstruse argument.

Are these "counties" male or female and at least 18 years old?   :post-4641-1156694572:

    New rightwing law ???

  13. Another idea.

Based on my own experience, read the instruction leaflets of your medication (if not available, google it).

i.e., I had my experience with xanacom which was prescribed for reducing the eyepressure in one eye. These eyedrops are extremly systemic. That means some ingredients of the medication go into your body with positive or mostly negative side effects. There may be side effects, but must not.

In your case, maybe one of your pills had the side effect to reduce the blood pressure. In your case a positive side effect. In my case, the awful side effects of these before mentioned eyedrops have been noticeable now, nearly 1 year after the first intake.

That's what Trump calculated. If the court proceedings would have been pursued the word would have seen the American Prez is a fraudster. :shock1:

Make the USA great again by a fraudster? US-Reality show.
