  1. The point I am making is that the only people who are qualified to test anyone's eyesight properly are opticians.
  2. Yes, a copy but you do not let them keep your actual passport.
  3. Did they fail to get their license renewed? Another thing, and this does not apply only to Thailand. Nobody should be allowed to test anyones eyesight except qualified opticians.
  4. As far as I'm aware, the only people who can even ask to see your actual passport apart from the usual IO's, banks, government departments, travel companies etc, not individual business owners. Even police below a certain rank cannot demand to see your passport.
  5. If the UK guy in Pattaya is the one who runs Key Visa, then yes, I would recommend them, they only charged me 31000Bt for returning to Thailand with a new passport which did not have my re entry permit on it and I had to start my retirement extensions from the start. Very cheap at the price.
  6. What about old King Charlie in the UK wearing a sword when he poses with all these medals, bling and regalia, and what about that hat? ???? Just shows that swords are not only used for fencing as I cannot imagine old Charlie using one.????
  7. Maybe I'm not understanding this correctly, every time I fly back and forth to the UK I always have a power bank with me for obvious reasons, and although I always had my laptop checked, I have never been pulled up.
  8. HomePro will only provide installation and repair services if you, or the engineer they provide live not too far from their store. I asked them to provide installation of something a few years back and they said no because I live too far away, 50Ks.
  9. Mine have never disappeared either because I cannot get anything on to Archive. In Hotmail and Yahoo you just click on Archive and there you go. In Gmail you click on Archive and it goes to Important. That's it.
  10. Yes I did that on Hotmail, created my own file and it worked, but one of the reasons I chucked Hotmail is when I put something in any either my own file or "Archive", some of my posts would just disappear. At first I just thought I had maybe done something to cause it, but it happened so often that I know that wasn't the case. I transfer the important posts to the Archives in Yahoo, and they have always stayed there until I deleted them myself. That proves to me that Hotmail was completely at fault. I just want to use the Archive on Gmail by clicking on it the same as in Yahoo.
  11. I have also started using the Opera browser and am very happy with it, but I will never go back to Firefox, very hard to set up, but that was about 3 years ago, could be easier now. I have also got Chrome and Brave.
  12. I have started using Gmail, and am happy with it, I have read all the instructions, but one big problem. I cannot put anything in "Archives", everytime I try to put something in "Archives", it always goes to "Important". I also have Hotmail and Yahoo, and it is no problem, I just click on "Archives" and there it is, so as I say, why can't I put anything in Archives on Gmail?
  13. Yes, that is the way it should happen, but it won't, if it does then that's because the top brass whether it is soldiers, police or the unelected government officials, they will always look after themselves first.
  14. I am not one for automatically obeying everyones rules as I will not obey any rule I don't agree with if I can get round it as long as I am not interfering with ordinary people, but If I know of anyone breaking laws which affect ordinary people ie drug dealing, child abuse, finding out where pedophiles live, I would not hesitate to tell the authorities.
  15. No not just doctors and lawyers, and not just in Thailand. and you do make a sensible post.
  16. and lawyers are like the medical profession here in Thailand, as soon as they see a white face the cash registers in their head start ringing.
  17. My difficulty is actually logging in most times it is OK, about 1 in 5 times it is not and I have to go through security checks and get a one time security no. This is despite being a regular customer for many years and using the same email and password. This company sure sucks badly.
  18. Yes, to a certain extent, ie the prices of food in Thailand and the UK have risen greatly I only mention these two countries because I have personal experience of it, will these prices go back to where they were before the Russian invasion of The Ukraine when the war finishes? You can bet they won't because most of the time these two countries are using this invasion so food companies can get even richer.
  19. That's because unlike western democratically elected governments whose PM's and MP's are well educated and have the brains to cover up their corruption, the unelected military government here in Thailand do not.
  20. and even being known to happen on a daily basis. A day is 24 hours, the latest one being over modified noisy engines. ????
  21. I don't think so, here it is probably more to do with greed and putting the blame on the pandemic or the Russian war.
