  1. What does YMMV mean? You are on a forum, not texting on a smartphone.
  2. Insurance policies are worded in legal jargon so they can look for an excuse not to pay out on claims. It happens all the time.
  3. Villa are more expensive than everybody, better using Foodland.
  4. The case was very heavy, but as I said I would have taken it home and let the wife decide.
  5. An IQ test for Thai's?? If that had to happen, there would be very few Thai's getting into western countries.
  6. Everything does change Charlie as you say, bus companies, train companies, police forces, but not so much in America. In the fifties and probably before they had the LAPD, Greyhound and Trailways bus companies, Amtrak trains. Today they all still have the same names.
  7. How long will that last you Steven? Till 10pm tonight? ????
  8. Sorry, no it was the note 7. Bought from MBK, no more Chinese junk for me.
  9. Why do I want more than that at night when as a non drinker, does not frequent the bars etc?
  10. I am never on Beach Road or anywhere else when I am in Pattaya after about 10pm, I never carry more than 2000Bt tucked into my sock. But I will say this, and I mean it. If I ever even have as much as an attempt by anyone trying to pick pocket me I will put an old wallet with 3 20Bt notes and some fishing hooks stuck in them in my pocket the next night I go out.
  11. I bought a Xiaomi Readme note 9 smartphone about 3 years ago, yes it still works, but the torch keeps coming on without warning, and when I leave it on the table with the timing at "never", most times it just moves to somewhere else. Nearly every time I try to change to another feature, the camera comes on. I paid about 10.000 Bt for this phone because it had the best reports of all the smartphones at that time. What a mistake.
  12. I bought a small bedside clock from Mr DIV 3 months ago. Guess what? It still works.
  13. I have recently bought two items from Mr DIY and can't even turn them on, if the Chinese are not sh!tting on the kerbside, peeing on the airport train, sh!tting in the back of taxis, disgraceful behavior at "all you can eat" buffets, they are selling you top class junk.
  14. As far as I'm aware, only police above a certain rank can ask to see your passport, not sure which rank though.
  15. I understand what you are saying, it's just like my hatred for Lazada and their cheating sellers, I have had a dreadful time with them and their products, even now it is a song and dance just to sign in, but other people have been happy with them.
  16. If you find it ie, on the sidewalk and no ID, then keep it, but as I said, if it was a real lot of money, ie 50.000Bt or more, I would take my wife's advice.
  17. "I'd hand it in". You mean you would give it to the taxi driver????
  18. I found a $20 note on the sidewalk in Texas. US. Of course I kept it.
  19. When I saw that case it looked like it was only a matter of time before it was hit and everything in it destroyed. I thought I would do a good turn for somebody and rescue it. 99.9% chance it had nothing to do with criminality.
  20. The food was never outside the freezer, the lid was left up only for a short time.
  21. From my experience the most honest is the ordinary Thai's, ie the ones who have done all the electrical and building work around my house, also the traders in my local markets.
