  1. ^^^

And often here you get the medication in a clear plastic bag with no paper instructions on contra-indications, side effects and such.

    So always worthwhile checking yourself.

I'd add that sometimes with drugs the side effects - like drowsiness - can creep up on you. Add to that the thought process changes because you are no longer as alert as you might normally be.

Anyway, if it gets some others to check out the side effects of drugs before taking them or it prevents one accident, it was worth making the post.

  2. There are many questionable practices in Thailand regarding medication. I suspect half the country cannot name the medication they take nor the potential side-effects.

If you are not Thai and were not speaking Thai, perhaps whoever gave you the medication felt they couldn't explain the side-effects to you.

The labels from Pattaya City Hospital are dual language. One side is Thai, the other side English.

Name, size, how much and when to take and - on these - an alcohol warning.

  3. Recently saw the doctor and was given a new drug - Flunarizine 5 mg. 1 at night.

These came with no warning of how drowsy they can make you - and drowsiness can often be the side effect of some drugs. This drug label from the hospital did mention no alcohol though.

I took these over several nights and went out on the m/c this afternoon and very nearly had a serious accident with a Toyota pick-up truck. Luckily for me he was paying more attention than my doped up brain was.

You are not always aware of how drugs can be affecting you and how doped up you might be as this can creep up on you.

It was only after this near accident I looked up the drug on the internet and one warning is not to drive or operate machinery because the drug makes you drowsy.

The point being, check yourself on the internet for known side effects, it might prevent an accident or worse.

Something I intend to do in the future with any new drug prescribed.

  5. So he rolls a pickup truck off the highway and into a restaurant and the police don't plan to charge him with any offence? "Perfectly understandable old chap. Could happen to any of us". How about speeding, careless driving and drink driving for a start? Or does he have a Hiso get-out-of-jail-free credit card?

Maybe you are being a bit harsh?

Youth and inability / inexperience to control after a front tyre blow-out?

Panic in an inexperienced driver could easily result in this and on Suk road it is faster than, say, beach road.

If they had smelt alcohol on his breath maybe they would have had some charges to bring.

I cannot see careless driving with a front tyre blow-out to be honest.

  6. "Never a bad word said or complaint made."....................cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

None that you know of at least !

And how many weddings / funerals have you been to?

Not eveyone has to dress up like a dogs dinner to be presentable or to be accepted.

You know so little of who was at these events yet you believe you know better?

    You are laughable.

  7. Don't worry plenty of people wear jeans to weddings when everyone else is more formal.

Obviously they didn't mind and know differnet people have different circumstances and you are a farang with no need for trousers in Thailand. Same as many Thais who don't use them for work.

    I agree with this ^^^

Been to several weddings and funerals and I've always worn denims. Never a bad word said or complaint made.

Not everyone goes to these things dressed up to the 9's :)

Some people think they are still in the West.

  8. Pattaya isn't an address. Your written Address, as you would use at Immigration fro 90 day etc should be something like:

    123/45 Moo 10

    Nongprue

    Banglamung

    Chonburi 20150

    THAILAND

Edit: I use Pattaya when talking. If anybody (I talk to) has a fixation with that and implies any impropriety with living here, I give them an educated gobfull and get them on the back foot so fast that they fall over themselves apologising. As to the Pattaya bashers on TV......don't really care what they think, Tossers are allowed opinions too. coffee1.gif

To tell the truth I never knew that you did not have to include Pattaya in your address. I have been here quite some time and didn't realize this so thank you. I actually use the identical example that you gave except mine would be:

    123/45 Moo 10

    Nongprue

    Banglamung, Pattaya

    Chonburi 20150

    THAILAND

For sure you would still receive mail etc. without using the "Pattaya" word?

As far as the date sites go I just wanted to be honest because most of the "good girls" are in Bkk etc. and wanted to let them know that I live here and don't intend to move. Anyways those sites are amusement in themselves. Well at least if you live in Pattaya they are. lol

And plenty of those BKK females come to Pattaya for the weekend. Some come to work freelance too.

Two sides to every face ;)

  9. If we are talking cheap views get on your m/c and ride up to Big Buddha, on Pattaya hill. Totally free and you can see so much of the bay, the islands and the city.

Or go to monument of 'Admiral Krom Luang Jumborn Khet Udomsakdi' which is very close by they even have telescopes at 10 Baht a time ( think 10 Baht ) to look around the bay and islands.

You can look down on Ripleys balloon from up there too ;)

    Erythritol

    in Thailand.

    Also

...otic / pro-biotic food additive (Nisin & Natamycin) and sweetener (IMO and Erythritol) in Thailand for Silver Elephant Bioengineering and Shandong Baolingbao Biotechnology. Besides from food additive and natural sweetener, Agrotech is also an international trading company for Biodegradable Packaging...

  11. Bottom of Khao Talo (Pattaya) has 2 trucks a little bigger than a Baht Bus.

Sorry, do not have the number but they are parked there regularly.

OR phone this guy (speaks reasonable English) on Sukhumvit road and ask if he also has a smaller truck...... Says he has cars and trucks.
