If you are happy with your current Insurers and been with them for a long time why even consider changing ? You have been an active Member here for 9 Years so unless there is a significant saving why even bother ?
Just my 2 Cents

Are there any good shops/services in Pattaya that will make a good professional job of installing my new Blackvue DR650GW-2CH 16GB Full HD Front and Rear Wi-Fi GPS In Car Camera Dashcam,
I want it fitted in my 6 Month Old Fortuner but want a neat tidy and hidden wires etc installation done, anywhere in Pattaya or Sukhumvit is fine, just looking for some opinions from guys who have had this work done
Thanks

It was a quick rough calculation I could have written TukTuk cost me 10,000 Kip ($1.23) I did not make any reference to Baht, But thanks for the conversion
10000 kips is actually more than 40 baht and not $1.
The easiest way to remember is that 5000 kip = 20 baht.
You won't find any food for $1 in Laos and not even for 10000 kips, it is everywhere more expensive than Thailand

Savannakhet Marriage Non O Visa.
Sunday 19th July
I flew into Savannakhet Sunday afternoon with Lao Airline from Vientiane ( Had other Business there ) $120 Flight 45 Minutes, simple easy and fast, was met at Airport by Hotel Driver (50,000 Kip $6) Stayed at the Avalon Residence, good choice, nice comfortable rooms, comfy bed good Aircon and decent English speaking TV , sports and Movies ( Got to watch the Open Golf which was a bonus for me ), near Embassy and pretty cheap ($20 night) no complaints at all, staff very friendly very helpful and spoke very good English .
Reasonable food in the coffee shop attached to hotel, plus another place to eat directly across the road which was good also, some reviews have complained about the price of the food, but at around $2/3 a dish I really don't understand that !!!
Monday morning 10,000 Kip ($1) on TukTuk to Embassy 5 minutes away (Turn left out of hotel, walk to traffic lights, turn right and embassy maybe 1Km up on left if you want to walk)
Embassy applications opens at 9, best to be there maybe 8.30, not a long wait and you should be near the front of the line, getting there 30 minutes early will save more than that amount of time waiting in line
Application form with 2 Photos
( This can be downloaded beforehand easily )
Copy of passport (signed by you)
Copy of Wife House Book (signed by her)
Copy of Marriage Cert ( signed by you and her Make sure you have originals to show)
Copy of Wife ID card back and front ( signed by her )
5000 Baht
Easy and painless.
Tips: take umbrella as waiting area small and if 10 or so ahead of you then you will be standing in rain/sun All photocopies must be on A4 size paper, don't cut them down like I did (small ID Card) or you will be made to go outside and copy them again !!
When you enter the Visa area go to the right of the long table, that is the window that will open, if you go to the left they will send you to the back of the line.
Application is simple and straightforward , they will check your documents are all correct and check original marriage cert, 30 seconds and done, the guy spoke good English and everything was done with a smile.
They will give you a small printed numbered receipt for your collection next day at 2PM.
I arrived there 8.30 and was about number 10 in line, but 5 went to the wrong side of the table ( a few made a mistake and had to go to the back of the line, a few had to collect application form the fill in ! ) So ended up number 5 , was back in TukTuk to Hotel at 9.15, wish everything was this easy !!!
Tuesday:
TukTuk to Embassy 1.30 PM (When i was leaving the line was huge and out of the Embassy Grounds, Got there 30 Minutes early !!! )
3rd in line at the Gate, Gate opened promptly at 2PM
60 seconds later I had handed my little printed receipt in and was the owner of a brand new 1 year multiple non "o" Visa TukTuk waited for me and took me back hotel, all for 30,000 Kip
Flights back to Bangkok from Savannakhet are on alternate days and unfortunately you could not collect Visa and still make the flight, so have to wait until tomorrow, got the flight for $100 so all in all a good productive trip, the Embassy seem very efficient !!!
Cannot understand why they do these in Savannakhet and not Vientiane, but hopefully long may they continue !!

The 320D GT Is a nice car, Loads of room in the back also (even more than the 5 series)
If you have the extra 500,000 you should go for the 5 series though.
The Car Computer Adjustment is not really quite correct, it is actually an official BMW part kit where they replace the ECU, Intercooler and sometimes the Fan, once fitted you actually gain more than the stated increase, this is not advertised obviously
The kit will cost you around 60,000 + and yes it does not affect the 5 year warranty.
5% off 3,200,000 is 160,000 Baht = More than i got off my 320D GT in Pattaya !
Plus dont expect to meet any reasonable English speaking member of the sales team there that will explain much about anything technical, it just does not happen unfortunately.

You can only have one device connected to an ethernet port concurrently.
So yes, you can wire them in parallel (though you might lose some throughput due to long exposed wires/noise), but you won't be able to use them both at the same time.
Thanks

Get a cheap 5 port hub and you can have 4 different connections. Few hundred bahts and problem solved
Nothing to do with a hub
Was exploring a way to get a feed to an external access point from an existing wall socket without drilling a new hole
-
Hi Just a question not sure the heading is correct but:
I have a double Lan socket and 1 is spare ie: not connected to anything, can i backfeed it ? Like connect Lan cable to the back of the socket with a wire going outside through the wall and just put a RJ45 Connector on the end to plug into my external Access Point ? Something like the pictures i show ?
I would then plug a cable in from my Router to this socket which would then go straight to the RJ45 that i want to plug into external AP ?

Km43 Highway 7 Nearish Airport 2 Cameras 1 each direction

Do you mean the highway between pattaya and Suvarnabhumi airport ?
Yes

Exact location is 43.8 km marker. These hidden cameras are not about reducing speed, they are about taxing motorists. If they really wanted to save lives they would install Spec cameras which measuren your average speed between two cameras. Install sets of Spec cameras on the motorway with clear warning signs and everyone slows down. But of course if everyone slows down there are no fines to fill the pockets of lazy, corrupt ....
A further issue. I work in Chonburi and staff at the factory have been caught by this camera. The owner, who drives a Mercedes S Class and the factory manager who drives a second hand Mazda. The owner doesn't give a damn how many tickets he gets and his secretary deals with the paperwork, but for the manager these fines hurt.

Have you tried asking your Internet provider ?
I had mine come out, they sorted it quickly and very low cost.
I actually had not thought about that, will give them a try, thanks

The Garmin map on the iPhone app is a different one from the one on Garmin PNDs. The first one is built by NAVTEQ. The latter by ESRI/ NOSTRA.Garmin are Fine and Thailand Maps are good, Can also get Garmin App on iPhone which is exactly the same, but the Nuvi are cheap and good, plus once you have one it is easy to update the maps for free
I meant they display the same visually, which they do

Thanks for that, I actually found the opposite in being professional, the Merc people were really disinterested, maybe because the CLA250 had a 3 Month waiting list, (so they say) Agree with the Prestige bit in Thailand, its a "Show" thing Also the Car comes without GPS Maps, I kid you not, all dealers said the same, 25,000 Baht for the SD Card with the Maps for Thailand !!
BMW has a lot more gadgets and frills inside also, guess I will find out for myself now
Anyway have bite the bullet so to speak and ordered the 320d GT Sad that it costs more than a M3 back at Home, but such is life I guess
Cheers
