  1. You are german, right? Armin, Kraft, yep, you must be a german (speaker)!

In case, you call it krav maga, next time, you might find even something in thaivisa about it whistling.gif

No I'm not whistling.gif , but I stand corrected on the spelling and yes, afterward I did find another thread on this subject.wink.png

  2. I work for a local Thai company. I'm the first and only farang.

The Thai boss is a very nice and reasonable guy, he also speaks English well.

He prefers a flexible work environment.

It allows me to come in late. Which I prefer not to, but it happens.

I like flexible, but the Thai staff take it to a whole different level.

Whenever the Thai boss is not in (out for meetings etc.), the Thai will exercise flexibility.

They will take long lunch breaks, up to 2 hours, out of the office, then return and 30 minutes later go out again,

shopping at a shopping mall a few kilometers away, come back an hour and a half later, then go out to the

market to buy dinner, come back, and 5 minutes later, still before 5pm, already leave for home.

It is not everybody, but many of the staff.

Now I must admit, it's not a busy time at the office, not so much business coming in.

So I guess they are not slacking at work.

Anyway, today, in a subtle way, I asked my boss what the company rule is exactly for when there is

not much work to do, whether staff is free to do what they want, go out for a while etc.

He told me, that, of course, staff is to remain in the office. I obviously know this already. I've noticed that

when the boss is in, the staff will stay in, and certainly not leave before 5pm.

Of course, I did not relate to him the above, although I've thought about doing that.

Thai friends have advised me not to tell him, but just let the staff do their thing, and I should just do it

the way I feel it is correct.

    Anyone with a similar experience?

  3. why African drug dealers? they should aware of all drug dealers not just using some racist words here.

most of these girls are prostitutes doing drugs already. i think the police should do their job better because they know where these drugs dealers are.

Go on any of the Thai dating website and see how many Black guys are on there, this is where these guys hunt for their victims, normal everyday Thai girls, NOT your average bar Hooker

I've never heard from any Thai that they like Africans, or 'negro' as they say.

Not that they hate them or anything, but that they would not want to be involved in anyway with them.

So it is surprising that these Africans (would) have any success on such sites.

  4. I received the following info in a PM when I was looking for similar info. But as others have said, there may be many apartments that meet your specifications.

"One apt at the Thonglo BTS station area is called SK Towers. Used to cost 7000 baht per month plus a 10% premium but prices are now about 8800 baht plus the premium. You can also try Romance Apts in Sukhumvit 97. I think they do short term rentals."

Check these 2 out, for starters.

    Many thanks smile.png

Will have a look at those.

  5. I'm seriously thinking of turning this into a business. I remember one time, my Girlfriends brother took one of the housekeys. I know it was him but I could not accuse him so I told everybody that all money stopped until the key was back. Then my GF, her sister and brother attacked me with a knife and i was hit with an electric cable and got a lot of bruises. I went to the Police-station. They did not care one second about my problems, the only thing they did was take my laptop from me and gave it to my GF to give her leverage for an possible negotiation for separation.

I played nice, send her family home and her on vacation. Then i moved everything and the only thing she had when she came back was a rent-contract in her name and a rent to pay. I guess that story is not in circulation in Isan biggrin.png

Your talking about your psycho girlfriend now, right?

So this incident was before the incident that made you take off to Bangkok, yet for some reason after being attacked by 3, you, obviously, continued your relationship with this girl.

    Why?

  6. I'm thinking of moving closer to work so I am looking for information on (studio)apartments

along BTS line, from BTS Thonglor toward On Nut.

    Does anyone know of:

    - nice, clean, safe apartment

    - about 30-35 sqm

    - rent max THB 12K, but preferably THB 10K

    - short contract term; 3 months

    - low deposit, preferably just 1 month

    - without excessive electric and water charges

    - with shower heater and western toilet

    - furnished with bed, closet, table, tv, fridge

    - with pool and gym, but at least gym (real gym, not just some cycles and treds)

    - not too far from BTS, so not few kms into any soi

Alternatively, the same along BTS line, but from Sanam Pao to Saphan Kwai/Mor Chit.

This would actually not so much be closer to work but at least connecting to BTS.

    Thanks for any useful replies!!

  7. If a man has taken care of his wife and let her stay home all those years and they get divorced for whatever reason, it is his legal responsibility to continue working to support her in her current life style and also his children who will likely be given custody to his wife. Failure to do so will result in a prison sentence.

    Matter of opinion I'd say.

    Children yes, but the wife.........

It really makes marriage a commitment for life.

  8. @konini

    Thanks!

So in short, I should buy the e-cig from Liberty Flights and the refills from Malaysia!?

But erokok doesn't deliver by mail to Thailand............

And the e-cig from UK, the Janty eGo-C, is about THB 3,500 (GBP 69,99 according to the site), before postage.

You wouldn't happen to have any feedback on the e-cigs sold in Thailand?

Will check out that forum too, thanks!

  9. Getting a bit confused with all the different names posted: Ego twist, Ego battery, etc.

The site of Joyetec is not working well either, i.e. not loading all pages fully.

Perhaps any of the user can recommend what product to get, i.e. what automizer/clearomiser and what cartomizer/juice/liquids.

If you should buy the hardware from Healthcabinet, yet not the consumables from there, then where do you buy the consumables (cartomizers/juice)?

    Thanks!

  10. "I immediately told my flight manager I could not work knowing the daughter of my enemy was on the plane," the attendant posted on Facebook, according to the newspaper.

"I called my personal adviser asking if it would be all right to throw coffee at Paetongtarn, but was told that this could breach Hong Kong's laws."

Sounds a bit like something that a high-so/spoiled child would say.

  11. "Anuchai denied that police tried to help Worrayuth by testing his blood alcohol level in the afternoon although the accident happened early in the morning. He said the test was conducted later in the day because investigators conducted several tests, including collecting DNA samples and fingerprints inside the Ferrari car.

"We have tried to collect the most evidence. We will definitely help the suspect but we will deal with the case based on evidence," Anuchai said."

Odd thing to say considering the circumstances.

One would normally expect only the latter part of that sentence.

  12. I am really getting fed up with people bringing up the point "yeah! So? It happens in other countries as well!"

    a) yes it does! ...and...?

b ) never look at your own failures and try to change them for the better, right! Point at others, who might have it worse, so your own failures don't look that bad!

    c) We are in Thailand, right? We discuss things, happening in Thailand, right?! We have a flood here...so let's not loose too many words...they have worse floods in Bangladesh! We have murders here...but they have more in Sudan! What TF does that matter?

    +1

    Edited to add:

On a side note: I was almost molested today by a drunk old English guy who mistook me for an American.

He just fired off at me swaying a wooden stick at me, with a glass of beer in his other hand.

I learned he does not like Americans (understatement).

    This was at noon.

    (In Thailand).
