  1. I am not talking about cars specifically. However I would rather go without if nuclear was the answer.
  2. Wind and solar energy already account for a 24% of the uks energy use. Nuclear energy is a no no for me. Renewable sourced energy is the future. More investment in such is the way to develop better technology.
  3. Shocker. Despotic regimes with no respect for human rights collaborating.
  4. Not necessarily. Just remove him., don’t care if he lives or not.
  5. No worries. Saves on mopping the floor.
  6. I have my doubts about current EVs and their sustainability, the technology needs to be better. Solar and wind power are both viable options in the U.K., wind power at present being the best option. Currently the U.K. is a world leader in wind power technology and its application. Possibly the best in Europe according to some accounts.
  7. Guess we disagree on renewable energy. As far as I am concerned it is the future.
  8. Answered this. I have not at any point blamed truss for the energy crisis. Not once. I have pointed out she made a guarantee that was ill conceived given the facts that pointed to the possibility of power cuts. Now move on and get on topic or actually refer to what people have said rather than trolling on things they have not said.
  9. Read the OP and get on point with this thread…and let’s not forget I have not said there will or has been a power cut.
  10. Irrelevant. The quote there is stating there would less uncertainty over energy supplies and less need to rely so much on imported gas if proper investment in renewable sources had been made. And let’s not forget truss guaranteed no power cuts well after the Russian war of aggression and the consequences of gas supply disruption was well know. Yet truss made an ill conceived promise. U turn up ahead…
  11. “Jess Ralston, a senior analyst at the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit, said: “We didn’t need to be here. Had investment in energy efficiency and onshore wind gone ahead over the past few years, we’d be much more certain about meeting demand. Every spin of a wind turbine and loft lagged means less gas we need to try to buy.” https://www.theguardian.com/business/2022/oct/06/uk-power-cut-warning-prompts-fear-for-people-using-life-saving-machines?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  12. Dammit, isn’t it always the case…the one time you go for a drive pantless you crash the car.
  13. Just keeps getting better under the truss regime…another u turn on an ill conceived promise on the horizon. “Asked on a visit to Prague on Thursday about the guarantee she made during her leadership campaign that there would be no electricity blackouts this winter, Liz Truss said: “We do have a good supply of energy in the UK, we’re in a much better position than many other countries, but of course there’s always more we can do, and that’s why I’m here working with our partners, making sure we do have a secure energy supply into the future.” https://www.theguardian.com/business/2022/oct/06/uk-power-cut-warning-prompts-fear-for-people-using-life-saving-machines?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  14. Hmm, both company names appear to be very similar to companies registered elsewhere in the world, U.K. and Switzerland… https://opencorpdata.com/offshore/barclay-spencer-international-consultants-s-a https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/08509007
  15. Really? Including all those gaoled and murdered over the years for opposing putin? Including those gaoled and assaulted for opposing his invasion of Ukraine?
  16. All clothing is designed and has a brand name. Might not be a great design or expensive brand but nonetheless…
  17. Wouldn’t taking two days to get him to the state he was in make him a heavyweight. It took longer to reduce him to idiocy.
  18. Elon Musk: Twitter won't 'take yes for an answer' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-63166568 "There is no need for an expedited trial to order defendants to do what they are already doing," Mr Musk's attorneys wrote in a filing. "Yet, Twitter will not take yes for an answer. Astonishingly they have insisted on proceeding with this litigation, recklessly putting the deal at risk and gambling with their stockholders interests." Sensible and 100% understandable stance taken by twitter. Musk is as untrustworthy as they come. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2022/oct/06/elon-musk-twitter-takeover-delaware-court?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  19. Yeah right if you say so…well I’ve made clear my view. Plus removing putin removes the button pressing finger.
  20. You can hold that view. I hold one that his removal will allow an end to his war. His friends may be no better but they can see that Russia has failed in Ukraine and that continuing this conflict is detrimental to Russia’s interests. They may be fuming in private but publicly they shift all the blame on putin and bring an end to this utterly pointless war.
  21. Hopefully someone will take heart from this and remove putin.
