  1. Too many promises not being met. Even those promises are probably not enough to stop climate disasters becoming more frequent. Getting to the point of no return.
  2. Things becoming clearer. Nancy Pelosi's husband 'violently assaulted' after break-in https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-63430150
  3. I find it hard to credit the CCP could be this inept in shutting down the press.
  4. So he wanted them to change their name for 6 months and then go back to using it? Just so the company was operating under a different name during CCP conference? “Despite asking them to shut down their publication, the email with the offer stated that members of the publication can continue to publish books that are critical to the Chinese government with a new company under a new name. It also stated that the publication can also wait 6 months after they shut down before going back to using the same name and the 2-million Baht deal would still stand.”
  5. I’m sure they had stock options that made them very rich after they forced musk to honour his offer. Well..made them richer anyway.
  6. Tick tick tick braverman’s version of events not quite matching those of others involved…now was sunak aware of this when he “chose” to reinstate her… ”Sources told the Guardian that Braverman was confronted by the cabinet secretary, Simon Case, about the leaking of a sensitive document, rather than coming forward herself about what had happened. One said: “She only owned up to it when she was confronted with the evidence.” A similar accusation was made by Jake Berry, the former Conservative party chairman, who said the issue was “really serious” and added: “As I understand it, the evidence was put to her and she accepted the evidence, rather than the other way round.” The account appeared to contradict what Sunak said during his first prime minister’s questions on Wednesday.” Tick tick tick https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/oct/27/rishi-sunak-pressed-suella-braverman-serious-breach?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  7. It is astonishing how quickly everything turns to fecal matter under the tories at present. Questions about braverman’s resignation circumstances emerging already. sunak’s claims about them before parliament at PMQs now seem to be patently false. Whether he knew or not, expect fireworks next week if she is still in situ. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/oct/27/rishi-sunak-pressed-suella-braverman-serious-breach?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  8. Not sure that I did claim that blues and punk constitutes a genre. Though both can be said to have been the voice of those who were not prepared to succumb to the societal norms that others just accepted. Bessie Smith in particular resonates to this day, along with son house and jimmy reed, her music is as relevant as ever. Especially when looking at racism in society.
  9. I’ll comment when and where I choose, especially when you are creating some misty eyed dewy nirvana fantasy land to support an argument I feel is flawed. Liverpool is a great city and I had good times there with good friends. I continue to support the Reds with a passion I exhibit for very little else, but it is not free of the cancerous influences of racism. Edit No one is tag teaming you, don’t flatter yourself to think anyone would be bothered enough to do so.
  10. One can only hope they all go bald as a result of such.
  11. Lived just outside of and attended school from the age of 11 onwards in Liverpool. Saw things happen and heard things said that would appear to contradict the view of those who claim the city is free of racism. It’s no worse than anywhere else I’ve lived and definitely better than some, but it was no paradise of peace, love and understanding.
  12. Uh-oh, trouble in paradise https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/oct/26/suella-braverman-return-after-security-breach-defended-by-james-cleverly?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  13. “The Saint Louis Public Schools district is planning to add gun safety to its curriculum, Superintendent Dr. Kelvin Adams said.” Let’s hope the government adds banning ownership of the type of weapon used in this tragedy to its curriculum.
  14. Abortion is a very emotive issue and one upon which no other person should impose their view on other people’s bodies. This includes pressuring someone into having or denying someone access to such.
  15. “Morrison, who recently tested positive for COVID-19, and Musico watched the verdict by video away from the courtroom. Judge Thomas Wilson ordered all three to jail while they await sentencing scheduled for Dec. 15.” Wonder what Santa will be bringing them this year…
