72,000 (retirees) x 800,000 (baht) = 57,600,000,000 Baht
And that's just the retirees

and have they also pledged not to eat sleep or drink whilst they are in government? This would be more believable.

Not sure why this is headlined as a crisis. A very small fish in a very big pond. Probably better described as natural attrition or evolution in a very competitive market place

Does the online reporting actually work?
My experience has been that if it’s done within 24 hours it works.

Not to mention the industrial uses of industrial hemp and the enormous number products the would also benefit society.People seem to ignore the whole subject of industrial hemp,it is the strongest natural fibre on the planet.
And doesn’t require the enormous amounts of herbicide and water associated with cotton farming. This is the main reason hemp is banned because the chemical companies lobbied against it a hundred years ago by demonising because it threatened their bottom line.

I’m off with my Thai wife to live in our neighbouring countries. We’ll be using our THB as exchange for local currencies and when that runs out we’ll give THEM my foreign currency.
Thailand will no longer get any of my foreign currency to the tune of a million baht equivalent a year. An easy decision in light of the current visa, exchange and political situations. I thank this current government for making it an easy decision for me. The best of Thailand resides in the past.

I have watched some of my Thai friends bemoan the fact that they could not go to Chumporn nor Chiang Mai for a holiday, too expensive for thai, over the last 4 years... Mmmmm ?
Now they can take their families to Japan, Hong Kong and UK.
Somehow I don't think they saved the money to go on holiday.
No none of them won any jackpot either. So.....
Do they work for the government in positions of management? If so I have a fair idea where their new found wealth came from. It’s quite amazing the amount of syphoning that goes on by a lot of people in those positions.

Perhaps Minister for Maritime would be the logical portfolio.

She’s adopted attack as her best form of defence and Thailand’s ridiculous defamation laws make this a logical choice when you have no plausible defence argument. Watch this space.

The political system and recent elections were also vandalised. Little was done to the culprits. Why so much concern over a few flags?

When I lived in India, you would regularly see a local curling one out on the side of the road, but even they were discrete enough not to do it in a crowded street. It shows a shocking level of "shitty" manners to do this in front of people eating. Clearly he has no shame whatsoever, but he is Chinese, so a quality tourist apparently.
India was and still is a mine field.

There has been nothing but consistent price rises of imported food stuff.

I’ve got a couple of expired credit cards that I’m sure would offer instant pain relief if anyone is interested. I’d let them go for 1200 each. No low offers please. Price is firm.

I tip my hat to him and hope all goes well for him. The big P is not known for his sense of humour and has wafer thin skin. If he’s not already left the country he’d be wise to set up camp in his embassy.

But to be fair there’s probably more chance of winning the lottery than being killed by a bomb. My concern is whether this is the start of something bigger or a “one off”.
