OK, so the Deye inverters are installed and working, it took me some fathoming to get them to actually run in parallel but all operational now. We wired for 3 Deye units so the third space is occupied by our old Sofar hybrid which is just being a smart battery charger (no mains connections). Yeah, this is what those of us with an ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) are doing, except it operates automatically to switch to grid if the inverter(s) fail.

It's a part of the installation tests both in the UK and Aus, the results are recorded on an installation report. It's also part of the UK EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) which is required before a landlord can rent out a dwelling. I assume Aus has a similar requirement. Of course, "normal" people just press the "Test" button if and when they remember. I've seen RCDs that actually fail to open when the button is pressed.
