  1. Disappointing, I been trying to get an invite for a month for this place to download 1-2 old things you cant anywhere else!

Looks like I'm never going to get them now :@

UT33, invites have been closed for some time due to overpopulation.

What exactly do you need, I may have a source smile.png

  2. I believe UKNova closed about a year ago under pressure from the authorities. The only decent UK torrent site I know of that is still up is TVChaosUK.

Actually I think you're correct, my membership expired long ago so I just went to the site and it indicated that they are full.

  3. Agreed ^^^. Carefully check everything, particularly where it's fed from.

Does the main breaker incorporate earth leakage protection (does it have a 'test' button)? Ovens that haven't been used for a while can go leaky, they tend to recover after a few uses have dried out the works.

To open a 50A MCB on over current alone is a pretty serious fault for a 3kW oven.

  4. I think you will find that wth a UK passport you can apply for renewal up to a year in advance of expiry, I think its 18 months in the case of living outside the UK. and all current stamps and visa return valid, up to you if you request and in some cases pay to have them transferred. When i renewed the Thai offices did so without any charge.

You can apply for a new UK passport at any time (mine usually manage about 5 years before they're full, even 48 page 'jumbo' passports).

You can get up to 9 months 'credit' added to your new passport validity if the old one has not expired. Not much use to me mind :(

  5. The two new homes in our village that do not have visible columns also do not have any markings in the render to show their positions, nor are there colour variations across the locations.

Those with visible columns (ours included) have them picked out in contrasting colours as a feature.

Luckily our village has not yet been infected by the purple and green house disease :)

  6. Our smaller tank (1000L) was B3990 at Homepro, you can get cheaper ones.

    10k is a reasonable budget.

Do get decent bronze valves at least for the tank outlets, the PVC ones do fail and you don't want 1000L of water all over the place.

And don't forget to fit maintenance unions to your pump so you can remove it for maintenance http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/567711-pump-service-unions/?p=5459547

  7. Pressure switch is usually adjustable so no problem there.

No storage tank is included with these pumps, they do have a small pressure tank to even out the 'humps' when the pump cycles.

Pumping directly from the mains is not recommended (and likely illegal anyway) as there is a danger of sucking dirty water into the system if the supply is off. Instead you should install a storage tank fed from the mains and pump from that.

    Something like this:

The bypass non-return valve (optional) allows you to use city pressure if the power is off or the pump requires service.

If the supply is generally reliable you don't need a very big tank, say 500 L. We have 5200 L due to long outages and the fact that during the day our village pressure won't actually make it to the top of the tanks.

  8. I've done that too TBL, on circuits protected by earth leakage and over-current devices. Never had an issue.

Our OP however, is talking about his incoming supply which will have no earth leakage protection and no over-current apart from the 25kV village breaker.

Having seen what can happen when the damp gets in to such an installation the correct materials are essential.

  9. How deep is the well, can you see the water level and if it changes?

What type of pump is it, submersible, centrifugal (self priming or not)?

It could be as simple as the pump having air and not being fully primed.
