  1. Level today seems to have peaked and is on it's way down. Similar sort of height as yesterday.
  2. OK, it's probably not going to burn your house down (assuming we have a sensible installation), but a constant 60A on your 15/45 is going to be noticed by the supply authority. Whether they actually act on that or not is debatable of course.
  3. You will need to talk to PEA and your landlord about installing 3-phase. Along with a contractor to do the actual wiring for you. What mining hardware / software are you using? We could support one or two miners from our solar without doing nasties to our PEA bill. If the return is really in the area you suggest I might consider a spot of crypto.
  4. A 15/45 is officially 45A max. Many run these on a 63A breaker with no issues. If you go over 45A there's no guarantee of accuracy (bet they don't read low) but the meter itself is pretty bomb-proof, a 100% overload (90A) isn't going to kill it. As noted above, go 3-phase and get 3 x 45A! 50A @ 220V is 11kW all of which will end up as heat, how are you cooling this lot? I'd expect you to be using about 3kW on cooling for these rigs too.
  5. Chooks have been flood proofed by putting sandbags in the bottom of their house so they have dry walking space. Once the flooding is over we're going to raise the floor level permanently.
  6. Meanwhile, step son is practicing to be an umpire at Wimbledon. He's actually using that chicken cage to catch pla-chon in the flood water.
  7. Looks like we have peaked and the dampness is now receding, next high is at midnight. Level I would describe as "nervous"! Garden is completely flooded although some of our creatures (the geese) are really happy. Meanwhile the chickens are ensconsed in my outside workshop.
  8. Yeah, we are noticing that just now, rather higher than to 10th, still on the rise here ????
  9. We try to be "green" without compromising our lifestyle. We generate a significant chunk of our domestic energy from solar and Madam uses a carbon-neutral (but not exactly air pollution friendly) hob powered by local charcoal, burned traditionally from sustainable timber (forestry thinnings) and delivered by a chap on a bicycle. She's instructed me that our next daily driver will be an EV. But Greta just pushes all my buttons for some reason! She's 18, so probably needs a boyfriend to dissipate some of that energy. I wish him well
  10. Madam has lost quite a few bananas, they drink a lot of water but they really don't like to have wet feet. Papaya die in a day if flooded ????
  11. 2017 was the last time we had the river at this level, before that was the 2011 mega-flood.
  12. Here we are around low water, to be honest it's not gone down as much as I hoped, but according to the tide table this is a sort of "mini-low", more of a dip in the high. The next high is lower than today's so with luck we should still be OK. I will be monitoring carfully. Meanwhile we have an unusual garden visitor. There are a fair number of fish of various sizes in there so he had pretty good pickings.
  13. Well we just scraped over the local high tide with about 5cm of freeboard below "Worry" level. Next high (late evening) is lower than this last one so unless there's a massive surge in river flow we should be OK. Welcome to our newly installed Water Garden. And a present from the local government.
  14. If you don't have a pink ID (or didn't use it when you got vaxxed) the certificate should have a 13 digit number starting 6----, use that to get into MorProm. Yes, it was certainly only Thai when I first used it, but the newer versions have more English.
  15. If you don't like wire-nuts (I don't) then either the choc-bloc type connectors of a suitable size (I like to strip the wires long enough that they all go under both screws) or the lever-type Wago connectors will do an excellent (and removable if needed) job.
  16. After a week or so of not doing anything significant the level whizzed up last evening, peaking around midnight at just above the previous highest level. It flooded the drive and damped the car port floor. Still 5cm below worry but worrying anyway. We have a few days of high tides coinciding with the arrival of a pulse of water from the north. Monitoring closely, next local high will be around mid-day, we are at a local low now and the level is well down on the peak.
  17. You have to ask for VAF-G if you want the flat building cable. Note that "2 core" is actually 2 core plus earth.
  18. That would mean you need a hybrid system (with batteries) which adds to the cost of course. I'm now understanding more of what you actually need.
  19. If you already have mains powered pumps in place then using a grid-tie solar system to offset your power bill might be a better solution.
  20. A fair number of solar pumps of various flavours and prices on Lazada. This kind of thing https://www.lazada.co.th/products/750w-1500w-4-125-2-dc-dc-i932482721-s1901180138.html? Just add panels. Or this for something a bit cheaper. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/solar-water-pump-qb-60-series-375w-24vdc-i1684736329-s4738434003.html?
  21. Let's slide this over to "Alternative Energy" since it's about solar.
  22. Ouch! You can get a Tomzn (a well known Chinese manufacturer) 30/60kA device for 1k Baht https://www.lazada.co.th/products/ac-surge-protector-3pn-30ka60ka-b-385v-tomzn-ac-220v-3-i703560909-s1348010684.html If you prefer to stay with a known name (still made in Chine of course) how about a 160kA ABB unit for 7k Baht https://www.lazada.co.th/products/surge-protector-lightning-protection-abb-ovr-bt2-p20-ka-20-440-160-ka-surge-protector-unipolar-i2695797610-s9723149342.html We have a lot of protection scattered around, a 100kA Tomzn unit on the incoming supply, various AC and DC units on the solar and baby 5kA "disc" MOVs in all the LED light fittings. The UPSs on our PCs and TVs all feature built-in MOVs which have been upgraded with more of the disc units.
  23. It might be easier to post a photo of the board with the lid off than discuss with your man ????
  24. That would depend upon the size of the meter, most would be on a 15/45 with a 50A breaker. That would allow about 11kW of load, if that was exclusively A/C then a total of about 110,000 BTU running at full chat would be the limit. A place big enough to need that level of A/C would certainly have a 3-phase supply allowing up to 33kW of load. Do you have a pet polar-bear?
