  1. "Oil Price Hike and Bath Depreciation Worry Thai Government" We only have showers, will this affect us?
  2. Probably not happening, U.S. regulators suffer from NIH syndrome!
  3. Pretty obvious where Madam's priorities lie! > Six million Baht house pha! Ten Baht bananas and the chickens need flood protection! Yes, I told her not to tie the sandbags, but ... I'm just a stupid, know-nothing farang!
  4. That's it, but since it's not a self-priming pump you will need to get quite a lot of water into the pump and pipe (and let the air out).
  5. WARNING Will Robinson, WARNING!! The lady who was helping Madam fill sandbags discovered that the flood water has leeches ???? Not nice!!
  6. OK, underground tank. You need to fill the lift pipe and pump with water, probably easiest to disconnect the service union (which you probably don't have) and fill via that, otherwise remove that hex plug and fill the pipe, very, very slowly (air needs to escape). I suppose it's a means to encourage you not to let the tank run dry again ???? Does the lift pipe have a removable cap at the top perchance?? A thought, if you have a wet n dry vac it might have the oomph to suck up the water if you apply it to the pump outlet.
  7. What is your actual problem, we have this pump (or a very similar one). What is the source? Tank, direct mains, well??
  8. Today's max was well below yesterday's max. More damp on its way down river but the worst of the tides have passed.
  9. Not for domestic as far as I'm aware. The meter measures the energy consumed over all 3 phases and you pay for that. It is of course always best to keep a balanced load anyway. If you are an industrial user things may well be different and maximum demand and power-factor tariffs may apply.
  10. Hmm, that totally echos my experience with my friend. He's used up WAY too many of the regular type. Just ordered a bag of the linked ones.
  11. That's what I thought when I bought the bag of 100 "regular" ones
  12. Another member pointed me at these after he had "used up" a significant number of the regular closed-end plugs (that he "borrowed" from me). Sort out the wires before you crimp then trim off the ends. Anyone tried them? Are they really has handy as they look for those who just can't get the wires in right? https://www.lazada.co.th//products/i1752260238-s5063624392.html
  13. We're at tidal max now (13.30), definitely the highest level yet, about 20cm below "Worry". Garden is decidedly sodden.
  14. We're about 30km (river distance) north of you, level is still climbing and is definitely the highest this year. I reckon we've still got a couple of hours before the actual peak. I concur with the "distance to 2011".
  15. The UK is doing the importing! Generate in Morocco - use in the UK. It's all about Uncle Boris and his Green Initiative, go green, damn the cost.
  16. Local low tide and about 52cm below "Worry" ???? High last night was pretty similar to the night before, next local high at about 2PM.
  17. I would contact your local authorised LG service centre. Where are you located? A local member may be able to point you in the direction of a decent tech.

    Water cleaning

There are many different types available, something like this https://www.homepro.co.th/p/1171244 but do ensure that replacement cartridges are available locally and aren't silly money.
  19. If I were a betting man (I'm not, it's not legal in Thailand), I'd wager that even using power from Yallorn the Tesla is still cleaner overall than many an ICE vehicle.

OK, so it's crunchy bits. If you are clogging filters that rapidly you need a multi-stage filter. A coarse one to remove the biggest particles, followed by progressively finer filters until you reach your desired level. We have a simple polyester filter on our incoming supply to get the big bits out, nothing else except for an RO system which provides drinking water. I change the poly filter when it goes the colour of stewed tea.
