The Social Security Office want me to open a bank account using my Pink ID and Yellow Book rather than my passport so they can deduct my 432 Baht monthly payment direct. SSO said they can't use SCB and that they can't use my existing BKK Bank account 'coz it was opened using a passport number 😞 So, off to our local BKK Bank branch. They say can only open an account with passport, and, since I already have a working account, they won't open another anyway. To be honest I sense bull to get rid of the farang. This branch only gets 2 stars for customer service! So, time to do the rounds of the other banks 😞 To speed me in my quest has anyone actually managed to open an account using Pink ID and yellow book, which bank? If I score I will, of course, report here.

We get the occasional freebie (although they do seem to have dried up recently). -

Take a trip to your local PEA office (take a Thai speaker) and ask for an upgrade. You may need to also upgrade the wiring from the meter to your house and change your incoming breaker.

Shocking surge: Thai electricity tariffs set to spark debate
Crossy replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
We lost an inverter due to a failed firmware update (initiated by the manufacturer). Unit replaced under warranty. No doubt it would have gone on if the update hadn't been attempted. Crickey, was it really 2022!! -

What size supply do you have now?? (look at your meter) Most of the charger installers want you to have a 30/100 single-phase supply. PEA were offering a second "EV" supply on a 15/45 TOU meter but as you correctly surmise, they've stopped doing that now. On average, how far do you anticipate driving per day in your EV. You need to define "better", 3-phase will, with an appropriate "charger" (actually the charger is in the car, the EVSE is just a controller) enable you to charge faster. A 3-phase EVSE will likely cost $$$. But, the vast majority of users can use a Level-2 or even a Level-1 (or "granny lead") charger overnight running on cheap-rate power from the grid if you don't have enough solar storage and can't charge your car during the day. Unless you are very close to the limit on your current supply (I suspect you are not) then sticking with single-phase is the best solution at this time.

Thai SSO Yellow Book

I truly have no idea, it's possible that something got lost in translation. I do note that my payment hasn't arrived yet 😞 Once I've got my new BKK Bank account we have to go back to the office to arrange them taking the $$$ per month out, we can verify then. I'm actually not sure just how long I've been paying in, there was a gap after my first batch when I was working elsewhere, heck I'm not even sure if I retained the same SS number. -
It took me just a moment longer than I'm going to admit to
