  1. Size? Thickness? Colour?
  2. @UTBoro Is your cable underground or overhead? If it's overhead, replace it with a size larger aluminium cable, it's far cheaper than copper and very much less likely to wander off in the night. If underground you're stuck with using proper underground rated copper cable Have you spoken with your insurance company?
  3. Dealing with the "AI" bots that some online providers use is actually more likely to drive me to (more) drink! Let me just crack another Chang
  4. If it's a government position you are entitled to certain benefits as her spouse. I'm not sure it's really that much of a security risk, after all, how many zillion paper copies of your PP are circulating pretty much any Thai institution you've dealt with? Immigration have even been known to re-use copies as scrap paper! (which does make you wonder why they needed them in the first place).
  5. But it would require some NI (Natural Intelligence) which seems somewhat lacking in the Thai authorities.
  6. Basically, yes, yes and yes. The app works fine on WiFi provided you've already installed and activated it via mobile data (whilst in Thailand). But it's always best to be safe rather than be stuck without access to your bank. I have a dual-SIM phone so I'm not sure if you actually need the Thai SIM in the phone when using the app.
  7. Indeed. I would take the pragmatic approach. If you block the move then absolutely anything that goes wrong with their build will automatically be your fault. You really don't want to get on the wrong side of your new neighbours so soon. Of course, if PEA say "cannot" you are off the hook. Do you have an existing power supply to your plot? If not now might be a good time to talk to PEA to organise.
  8. Much depends upon who actually owns the poles. If it's actually a PEA pole then PEA must move it and they would obviously know their own regulations. If it's not a PEA pole then anything goes, there are likely actual regulations but of course TiT. The poles bringing power to our place which were installed by PEA although not actually PEA poles are 18m apart. The final span to the house is 20m. Due to a similar situation to where you may end up (building in the way) we needed an extra pole which of course we paid for If it's going to interfere with your current or a future supply to your place, I'd be getting PEA involved ASAP.
  9. I admit to rating Judy Teen as being better IMHO, I never managed to find a decent video of an original 1970's performance EDIT apparently the BBC wiped the edition of TOTP where this was performed
  10. The Cray-1, the original "Supercomputer" used this technique with a CFC fluid called "Fluoroinert".
  11. Steve Harley, the frontman of British glam rock band Cockney Rebel, died Sunday at 73 from cancer. Harley’s family said Sunday that he had “passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side.” Harley said late last year he was being treated for “a nasty cancer.” His best known song was Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me), which went to number one on the UK charts in 1975. https://deadline.com/2024/03/steve-harley-dies-cockney-rebel-lead-singer-was-73-obituary-1235860727/
  12. At this rate we foreigners are going to be lynched on sight!! TWO motorcycle-riding foreign men refused to stop when hailed to do so by a Phuket traffic policeman instead zoomed ahead and upon finally being caught assaulted the officer, locking him in a chokehold, with a shot being fired from his pistol as they fought over the firearm, Amarin TV said today (Mar. 17). This TV channel’s news team verified that the incident did actually occur at approximately 3.50 p.m. yesterday after E-Sor web page broke the news by sharing a photo with a caption saying, “Here in Phuket… foreigners are bold and badly attack Thai police. Photo owner: Thapapong Trs.” This led to a large number of Thai netizens criticising their behaviour. https://thainewsroom.com/2024/03/17/foreigners-assault-phuket-policeman-after-being-chased-over-traffic-violation/
  13. No, that was the Mu-X, it has a good airbag! A sprained ankle is hardly "almost kill" and she was "ghost-riding" with no lights.
  14. Wife number 1 was a typical Essex Girl (Google her), beautiful, blue eyes, blonde hair, big bazookas, no brain. I loved her to bits (in reality I still do); we had 5 kids together then she swapped me for a newer model. Number 1.5 was Korean, loved her too but she turned me down, twice!! Wife V2.0 (Thai) is my keeper, love her soooo much, just as much as she loves me my bank balance.
  15. I tried explaining "Trigger's broom" to a couple of my local engineers. I think I failed
  16. Apart from a front-suspension rebuild (it all got worryingly "loose"), a failed dual-mass flywheel, a couple of prop centre-bearings and UJs and two A/C compressors it's not been a bad ride, in over 350k km it's never actually let us down.
  17. We bought our Ford Ranger new in 2005. Yesterday we received a recall notice for a "potentially dangerous" airbag, need to take the car to a local dealer to be checked. So, we've been driving around for 19 years with airbags that might not go off, and if they do, they may rip your head off! Wonderful. Just how many duff airbags are really out there?
  18. Argh! What have I done? I do recall (could be an urban myth) someone actually registering in a UK by-election as "None Of The Above" I suspect they were actually disqualified on a technicality.
  19. @george can we have a "None of the above - Please clarify in comments" please? Coz, that would be me
  20. "How to Dispose of Your Used Motor Oil. Popular Mechanics Magazine, January 1963."
  21. My youngest in the UK is building his new PC, no expense spared (he's heavily in to flight-sim and other gaming). He sent me some photos. My first impression? Where does it dispense the coffee?? His reaction was unprintable!
