  1. Luckily i have never been made redundant ,3 times in my life i have been unemployed ,as i had enough to live on ,but always been asked to work for companys and given in and gone back to "work" for a living ,at 55 i went part time and at 60 came to live here permanantly ,within 6 months was offered a job ,but this time said no and havnt done a stroke since ,wonderfull ,mind you having the money to do it does helpsmile.png

  2. Maybe called that too soon, just been talking with a mate in the Ban Chang/Sattahip area and it has been p1ssing down there! May explain for the humidity over in Chonburi................

Big downpour in Jomtien a couple of hours ago. They said it would continue well into December this year.

yes got lots of rain here in banglamung ,lovely for the garden.
  3. If you were younger free and single it was way better then ,who cared about the cost of international calls and where you paid your lecy bill ,didnt have a car ,didnt want one walked most places ,most of us were not familly men . but i admit apart from all the tourists and with a wife a house a car and a boy in uni ,well then now is better.

  4. I couldnt imagine having the air con on all the time ,how do you aclimatize to the country if you do that? we just use it for a few hours at night to get to sleep.

Would you not have your heating on in Europe in winter? Or would you just freeze your goolies off in the name of acclimatisation whilst sitting at home in the evening? I know people in the north of Britain who have their heating on for 10 months or more in the year.

I have my aircon on all the time I'm at home but I set it to 26 degrees, which takes the unpleasantness off the heat and, above all, reduces the humidity. If I couldn't use aircon I would not live in Pattaya at all, and would probably move to the north at some altitude.

there is a vast difference between freezing your nuts off in a British winter and keeping cool here in Thailand ,the first piece of advice i was given on living here permanantly was ,keep the aircon off just use fans ,it was rough for the first few months but now its fine ,we very rarely have it on daytime ,you can always tell the people who are not acclimatized ,its the sweat running of them when they walk outside. still each to his own.

  5. .... how do you feel that you live in a country where you don't enjoy the climate for the majority of the year?

I've never lived anywhere where the climate was right all the year though mountain areas like the Cameron Highlands in Malaysia and Baguio in the Philippines both come very close. They have other disadvantages though.

Here I just have the aircon on all the time when I'm at home which is fine for indoors, and at least I know that when I go out I wont ever need to put an anorak on or scrape ice off the car windscreen. The only question here when leaving the house is whether I need just tshirt and shorts, or just tshirt and shorts and an umbrella.

That said, if the temperature here was about 5 deg C less all year round it would indeed be much nicer and I would use a lot less electricity.

  6. To the people who complain about how dear sausages were then, well when i first came here same as most guys the cost of sausages and bacon was not what was on our minds ,not many farangs lived here with their familly (i certainly wouldnt have) we came for the fun and the girls ,they were in abundance and not as mercanary as they are now ,then it really was "fun town" as for fares ,i used to pay about 250 quid return ,far less than now.

  7. If we live long enough we'll probably compare it in the same way in another generation

Oh i doubt that very much ,in 20 years it will be a nightmare ,the place is congested now ,10 minutes rain and it floods ,i do agree that it was much nicer 20 years ago ,but living here with a familly it is nice to have all the convienences.

  8. I came here on holiday 23 years ago ,didnt have a clue what went on here but was persuaded by my daughters boyfriend who had backpacked in the south, apart from the night life it was so different, most of beach road and second road were unbuilt on ,in the evenings walking along second road(there was no 3rd road) you would find 20 or so people sitting on the pavement outside the tv shop watching tv ,no violence no theives just happy guys and very few tourist groups ,have you any memories of people and places?

  9. On sukhumvit not far before banglamung police station on the way out of pattaya ,there is a big yellow building on the bend ,lots of cars parked outside ,they are a breakers ,thousands upon thousands of parts and good service

  10. i can understand if you have a terminal illness and in a lot of pain maybe, but nothing is worth dying for ,is it?

Does "nothing" include terminal illness or a lot of pain?

Actually i dont know ,but it would be a compelling reason ,unlike if some bar girl leaves you ,a hell of a lot of people in Pattaya seem to do the "Pattaya high dive" and i really dont think that most are murders.

  11. living with a ladyboy and running a bar in Pattaya ,wow how good does life get ,cheesy.gif

There's nothing wrong with living with a lady boy or owning a bar.

Sent from my GT-I9100T using Thaivisa Connect App

Tell that to a good friend of mine ,although he didnt live with a chick with a d--- he lost a fortune owning a walking street bar.As for living with a ladyboy ,well up to you but i prefer my ladies not to have dangely bits between their legs .smile.png

Those are the best parts...yum :-)

Whatever floats your boatsick.gif but myself i always found that what real women have was the attraction ,as for willys, well if i want to play with one ,i have one of my own to play withbiggrin.png
