Thai cannabis network concerned over govt’s move to criminalize marijuana
Taco replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
For sure agree on the filling of vacant spaces, raising rents for landlords and an often overlooked fact that in tourist areas in the south like koh Phangan up to 90% of all staff are Burmese, only Thais are legally allowed to sell weed. Now the lazy Thai stoners can even get jobs. -

Thailand’s Land Bridge project eyed for boosting economy amid local concerns
Taco replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Absolute idiotic idea. I drove the route a week ago. Locals firmly against it, signs up everywhere. Unload, load, unload load on to a different ship? Gonna be a long cargo falling off the back of the truck -

Suriya mulls assistance fund for people affected by Land Bridge project
Taco replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It’s a biodiverse and gorgeous area. Thinking that parking the largest ships in the world on both sides of of the coast and spending weeks loading and unloading with train transit to save the relatively short journey around Malaysia is just ridiculous. This is a project just to guarantee decades of tea money envelopes and destroy a pristine area. Horrible idea. -

E-Visa apply for muliple entries impossible
Taco replied to Sjoerd's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I have experience with this now 2 years for a multiple entry non b. Firstly, there is no option to apply on the platform for a multiple entry. I was in the city of the consulate so I personally went down and spoke with the visa manager. He told me to apply for any multiple business visa and to upload my documents (work permit, company update etc), pay $200 and he would issue my one year multiple (this consulate has issued me over 10 years of non b visas). I chose a BOI visa, uploaded documents, paid and it worked without a hitch. This year I did the same. First i visited consulate, then I chose BOI, uploaded documents and paid $200. One week before my flight I got a BOI visa. I honestly didn’t think much of it. 4 days before my flight consulate called me saying they gave BOI and if I need non b I need to reapply and repay. I found out I do in fact need Non B for my work permit so the entire process again another $200 and I did get the visa. The e visa process I assume was to make their job easier, in my case I guess it just caused more work (and an extra $200 ) which all could have been remedied if they just added multiple as a choice in the drop down box. If the consulate does not have a history with you, good luck. My guess is it would be difficult. More easy to just say no. -
Cabinet Approves Visa Extension for Russian Tourists
Taco replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Ok so Russia attacks a sovereign nation and their citizens get free visa extensions? Someone explain this one. Why create a dodge drafting haven if the government is so concerned about protecting the precious Thai’s jobs?
