  1. The only purpose of the English wording is to facilitate production of the Will in Thai. Amphora Wills are only accepted in Thai. If you are not fluent in Thai then you need to be certain that the Thai version accurately reflects your wishes. Like me, I suspect that you will have no idea what the Thai version says.
  2. Disagree. The 2 Wills are usually unrelated with totally different beneficiaries. You have no idea of the OP's tax position so your advice is ill placed. I seriously doubt that there will be ANY tax implications in either location.
  3. The amphur Will can only be in Thai. Any English version is simply for you to guide the translator. You will have no idea what the final version says so it might be sensible to get your wife to read it to you.
  4. Why even mention Brexit. That was rather foolish and irrelevant.
  5. "IF" it collapses. A BIG "IF" that.......................are you sure you are not wishful thinking? The old guard will give up lightly.
  6. So, basically, little has changed. The pyramid exists - weaker at the top and less solid in parts - but don't for a moment think that it has disappeared.
  7. You may have noticed the following:- Eligibility You may be required to provide ID and proof of address if needed. You may not be eligible for some account features if you remain resident outside the UK. Your application HSBC Bank Account Let's just check a few things before you apply Where do you currently reside? This is the country / region of your current residential address. Thailand We're sorry Due to cross border rules and / or HSBC's policy, this application is only available for residents of a limited number of countries / regions. However, if you're travelling to the United Kingdom, you can visit a local branch to open your account when you arrive. Find a branchFind a branch
  8. You embalm them, I cremate them. Either way Cialis could be had for 400 Baht from the pharmacy near Sue Sarn traffic light on Pattaya Tai - approximately opposite the FARIT? shop. Don't bother with the pharmacies on soi Buakhao, the one near soi Pothole wanted 800 Baht! I recommend the orange soluble tablets, 7 in a pot. I pay 200 Baht per pot.
  9. No comparison and you miss out on a whole lot more. Go with an open mind and you will not be disappointed. If you don't have an open mind then don't go - and don't waste 100 Baht on Phanom Rung either
  10. A "must see" for anyone visiting PP.
  11. It is run independently (although key policies will be mutual). Neither HSBC nor FD are closing non-resident accounts at the moment......neither are they opening new accounts for non-residents
  12. Yes (and I highlighted them in pink). I had the bank letter plus 12 months statements (plus PDFs of each WISE transfer).
  13. That is nonsense. I speak as a former HSBC senior manager and if HSBC adopts a policy not to open non-resident accounts then that manager will not have the discretion to do others. HSBC are consistent and would not permit the possibility of different decisions being made in different locations...... so a manager in Leeds will let you open an account, but a manager in Birmingham says no !!!!!!! The same would apply to any decision to close existing non-resident account - forget negotiation.
  14. I was doing that, but I won't bother any more. Did my extension yesterday at Jomtein and they wanted a separate specific certificate from Kasikorn listing the incoming payments
  15. 15 days before the due date to 7 days after (if reporting in person). Online is 15 days before, up until the due date.
  16. Nookie?
  17. You are wrong. I haven't included a stamp for more than 5 years. Do your research before posting false information. Just to help you on your way try with the gov.uk website - and then listen to the voices of experience.
  18. Here you go mate, you have it - with my compliments. Indeed almost anyone can sign....................https://www.gov.uk/state-pension-if-you-retire-abroad/report-a-change-in-your-circumstances If you’re asked to fill in a ‘life certificate’ You may get a ‘life certificate’ form from the Department for Work and Pensions to check you’re still eligible for the State Pension. You need to get the form signed by a witness. The instructions are on the form. Your witness does not have to live in the UK or have a passport from any specific country. The people who can sign the form are the same as those who can ‘countersign’ a passport photo. Who can sign your form and photo Your countersignatory must: have known you (or the adult who signed the form if the passport is for a child under 16) for at least 2 years be able to identify you, for example they’re a friend, neighbour or colleague (not just someone who knows you professionally) be ‘a person of good standing in their community’ or work in (or be retired from) a recognised profession
  19. Pay nothing .....get a respectable mate to do it.
