  1. At least he will get a regular salary. Unusual for a male to be the breadwinner if still living at home - no sisters?
  2. ....and WISE (as much as I like them) are limited to 2m Baht...............which may not help in a condo purchase.
  3. Friends have done it. Quite often in the past when local Immigration insisted on a new TM30 every time you returned from out of province travel. Thais tend to avoid any confrontation and I don't think many hotels would turn you away.. I always check in with my Thai DL (never passport). Give it a try - and remember the passport renewal as a back-up excuse. PS - I hope the limp gets better soon ????????
  4. He wasn't talking about SWIFT, he was talking about WISE.
  5. I know of a few friends who get their wives to make bookings. One could always say that your passport is with VfS Global/an agent for renewal..... if the hotel wants your business they will not confront you.
  6. So....you stayed at home for fear of having to do a TM30. Do you realise how limp that sounds? Let your family do the booking and simply share a room with your wife. Keep out of the way while they check in.
  7. The sun comes up, and the sun goes down.....
  8. Wow! A wannabee moderator.................not had one of those for a while.
  9. Yes, I certainly accept that. However, it is not wrong to mention what the 'official dates' are. People will have different reasons for asking about Songkran - some want to avoid it, others are looking for where/when to enjoy it.
  10. Did it once - enjoyed it. I have no need to do it again. Best wishes to those who do.
  11. It has always been wet in soi 6.....
  12. Pattaya is not Thailand. The official dates are as quoted by @IvorBiggun2 Up country the celebrations will finish on the 15th. The Pattaya area is a circus in it's own right - Naklua 18th, Pattaya 19th (which usually means 24 hours non-stop) and Bang Saray 20th.
  13. That's for THAILAND.
  14. A wonderful example of how we can expect to see even greater corruption if Pheu Thai succeeded at the polls.
  15. Good luck with that one.
  16. They may all come under the umbrella of the Royal Thai Police..................but Immigration police are way ahead of the BiB.
  17. Got a reminder this morning. By rights I should have ignored as I entered on 23 February. I thought "what the heck?" and submitted anyway (partly because I wanted to put on the new address that was reported by TM30 by my landlord). It should have been rejected. It wasn't and I received an approval within the hour.
  18. A rare event - certainly in Buriram, and the Boonies in general.
  19. Go Prayuth...........another term looming.
  20. No. They are just better at it.
  21. If you had ever had dealings with the immigration police you would not have made that dumb comment.
  22. Sorry, but that is nonsense. Do not confuse the BIB with Immigration police. The legality of overstay is crystal clear.
