  1. Why restrict yourselves to expats, there must are large numbers of well off educated Thais with children, who  like in the UK are not going to just look after their parents, i see it as a good opportunity. I have a thai friend well enough off, who pays good money for a nurse, their parents dont need a nurse but a good care worker, they found it very hard to find anyone with the skills.

  2. Your friend needs to apply before the current visa expires as far as i am aware you can not apply for any category once your visa has expired , it would mean going back to Thailand and starting the whole process again

What if I fail to meet the requirement of level A2?

An applicant who fails to meet the A2 English language requirement for further leave to remain as a partner or parent under the five-year route to settlement after 2.5 years (30 months) in the UK will be granted leave to remain on family or private life grounds under the 10-year route to settlement providing that they meet the other relevant requirements of Appendix FM or demonstrate exceptional circumstances.

Will any applicants not be required to meet the new A2 requirement?

The following applicants will not be be required to satisfy the new A2 English language requirement:

    1. Applicants under the 10-year partner and parent routes
    2. Partners granted leave under part 8 of the Immigration Rules.
    3. Partners of members of HM Forces who have been granted 5 years leave to remain under Appendix Armed Forces and who are not required to apply for further leave after 2.5 years.

  3. There is no need to register anything,  you used to be able store the certificate in uk so if you need a certified copy you could but that service has been discontinued

    https://www.gov.uk/government/news/marriage-certificate-registry-service-discontinued-for-overseas-brits

The only thing you need to do is remember to tick married on any applications you make

The only thing i did was get certified copies from thailand as it was cheaper, but have never needed them.

The embassy arnt interested in your status

  4. koh lipe   koh lanta   koh chang  are all good places went to  all of them last year,  quiet enough  but still some excellent restuarants,  best time is Nov- about march, dont go in rainy season a lot of businesses close at this  time also the sea gets whipped up and a lot of excusions don,t happen (sea to rough) nothing worse than being trapped in a hotel while it rains for days.

  5. Given that a settlement visa has been refused 2 times and his mother and half siblings live in uk, convincing the home office that he return to Thailand at the end of his holiday will be difficult,  in this case i would recommend  talking to an OISC registered Immigration adviser sorry cant be much more help than that.
