Has anyone heard of the "secret" TG917 flight out on 31st August from London? It was apparently a farang only flight - I have a screenshot with details but as it contains sensitive name information I'd rather not post it, but it confirms the flight name/date and some of the passenger list - all very western names. Anyone can PM if they want to see. I cannot verify if the flight actually departed, but I heard about it from Thai-written Facebook circles

What I'm trying to say is, it may well be worth trying to contact the London embassy and seeing what can be done.

I believe this was arranged by the schools in Thailand, and is not a repatriation flight as such, but a charter flight for teachers it was departing today

  2. If by retirement visa you mean an oa/ox visa then you cant' return yet or even get on a list, if you are the spouse/parent of a Thai, then you are eligible for a repatriation flight, you will need to go through  the embassy of whatever country you are in and meet their requirements

covid-19 insurance with $100 000 cover is needed for anyone entering thailand as well as 14 days quarantine,

without these you will not get  a COE.

best visit the Thai embassy website in the country you are planning to be in, you might not be getting back to thailand anytime soon though

You apply through Thailand Elite in Thailand if you already have the visa, the process is long winded and involves the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who TE contact on your behalf, here's an infographic from the email :

    image.png.edbc008890f5cecca5df0212738642d2.png

I though about getting an Elite as i have been waiting since April to get back to Thailand i have a valid visa for Thailand, so hopefully oct/nov, not sure you can apply if you hold a valid visa though

  4. The simple answer is you can't, the UK Thai embassy website still shows they are not issuing COE for elite holders visa in passport or not

**The Certificate of Entry is not for tourism and retirement purposes.**

Therefore, 30-day tourist visa exemption for certain nationals, tourist visa, retirement visa, and Elite visa are currently suspended.  Foreigners who are going to Thailand must have valid non-immigrant visa in accordance with their purpose of visit in each category below.

Keep a daily look out on the web page as i'm sure it will change as they slowly let different categories in, one thing i am sure about you will be in Thailand long before Tourists will be back

  5. 5.1 At least 6 months valid Passport and valid Thailand Elite Visa affixed on it., that will disappoint those that applied overseas as you dont get the visa n you passport until you arrive.

and item 14 does not sound good either for Thailand opening up anytime soon

Unless you plan your return on the end of 2021 or the year after. Though, we can not guarantee the process or documents to be required for travel at that time as we believe it will be what we call “New Normal”

  6. You would need to divorce your wife before first does she live in Thailand?, to apply as a durable partner you would need to live for 2 years in a relationship akin to marriage ie live together/ mortgage/ bills etc in joint names.

Were you born in N Irelnad? I ask as of Aug, people born in Northern ireland can sponsor under EU regulations, at least until Jun next year

    https://www.immigrationboards.com/eea-route-applications/good-new-for-people-in-northern-ireland-t295269.html

I also believe that Irish people living in the UK can also use EU route for partners not sure if it applies to dual citizens  at least until next year, then it is anyones guess

Apologies for posting this on two threads, but this one I discovered was more relevant.

"My Thai partner and I have been back in Scotland for 6 weeks, but she has to return to CM for work etc soon. Her KLM return flight was cancelled, and we are also told the only option is a repatriation flight. Endless attempts to contact the Thai embassy in London have failed. The phone menu options just lead you in circles, clearly like so many of them in business this was written by a sadist.

If anyone can offer any help or advice about how we should tackle this (Whilst we still retain some sanity!) I/we would be very grateful."

Currently, this is the only way out of UK to Thailand,  there were onlt 2 flights in Jul and 3 in Aug sept is not known yet, dont bother phoning, you need to email them with the documents they want and then wait, the did have a list where you could register for a flight, good luck

There are many repatriation flights other than what the Embassy website shows, going to and through many European destinations. https://www.skyscanner.net/routes/bkkt/lond/bangkok-to-london.html

I personally know of 3 expats who have booked and departed in the last two months without issue.

It seems quite clear on this link, a few months ago eva air were used but were still repatriation flights

Do you know what dates of the repatriation flights "into Thailand from the UK all the time"? Only 3 in August and all long since fully booked. Are there any in September, October or November that can be booked as part of a roundtrip ticket without paying a fortune and needing fit to fly, CoE and quarantine? There are no scheduled passenger flights into Thailand currently until 1st October and there are unlikey to be any, based on authority comments, until 2021.

Thai have not announced future flights yet, hopefully by the end of August they might have flights for sep, there seem to be only 2 or 3 flights a month, The embassy website shows tickets only 1 way economy was about £700 and business class £2880, i dont see there being any scheduled flights til at least Nov or even this year.

  10. Looking at the London Thai embassy, web page it seems if you are one of the groups allowed in but don't have a visa you apply through the embassy at the same time as appliying for COE.

If your visa has expired or you do not have visa, you have to apply for both the Certificatea of Entry and visa at the same time.

  11. Repatriation flights booked through the Thai embassy  is the only way to get to Thailand at the moment, have you contacted them by email about getting her on a flight or at least getting on the waiting list(any thing showing she tried might help with future visas), i would not bother phoning, something in writing is better than nothing. No one knows when Thailand will be opened to Commercial flights, have a look at the embassy website or their face book page

I wasn't expecting there to be a way to directly find seats but I was hoping there would at least be some general info - for instance, the fact that there is no information yet about flights in August would be helpful.

If they're not going to put any info at all on there and you just have to enquire directly, they should say that, instead of implying that you can get info about seat availability on the site when you actually can't.

There is a recent post that Thai are having 3 flights from BKK-lONDON in August, so there is a chance that the return flights will be used as repatriation flights. To be fair to the London embassy, they are probably in the dark as well, as the decisions are taken in Thailand, it's frustrating  for all

I have looked and looked but can't find any information on the site about potential seat availability on repatriation flights. Has anyone else found it and if so, do you have a direct link?

There is no way to directly find seats, once the embassy have your documents and are satisfied, you will be contacted and offered a seat once repatriation flights are known, note the embassy have not notified any flights for august yet, AND there will be a queue

  14. The way i understand it, this is the category you are applying under, i'm sure someone will correct me, email the documents as requested, they should get back to you if things are missing, if everything is in order, and a flight becomes available the London embassy will contact you (the flights are decided by bangkok MFA?  so the london embassy can't help. i can't apply yet as i only have an OA visa, i have been waiting since April.
