  1. I wonder why Thai teachers/schools/Thailand are always blamed for poor performance of kids,  while many parents do not invest time/money in their kids, blaming Thai teachers for everything, and perhaps some of these kids are just plain 'thick',  just because you are are Farang  you expect your kids to be high  achievers, look at yourselves first before blaming others.

  2. Did you read the link Tony m posted on page 1 this is how  The ukvi will treat SS route, it seems if they believe you are using it because you would otherwise not qulify then it will be denied, i'm sure it is not compatible with freedom of movement to which the UK must abide, though you may well have to appeal..

For what it's worth anyone born uptil 2005 in the Island of Ireland  is considered irish so would be entitled to an irish passport, gets tricky after 2005  when it depends on your parents status

  3. After 7 years i say go for it, if you love her and want to be with her, its good she supports parents etc, don't  be put off by stories  of bar girls ripping of cutomers(farang husbands) these girls are just doing their job, can you afford it?

Lots of cuples break up, if you did would you want to live there, time to show some commitment

Yes, that flat rate pension, as most know, only applies to those who were never contracted out AND have paid the required number of years of NI.

I have just retired at age 57.5 with 38 years of contracted out NI and my forecast for the state pension at age 66 is just over £120 a week.

Luckily for me, I am in a final salary pension scheme which has a variable pension option whereby they pay you your estimated state pension as soon as you take the company pension (now, for me) and when the state pension becomes payable, the company pension drops by roughly that amount, giving a predictable income in retirement.

Yes  it is a very good pension:smile:

Apparently there are 1.5 mill Brits living in Europe. It is more than likely a solution will be found to avoid all returning to the UK. The triggering of article 50 next March does nothing to change the freedom of movement directive that I & others Brits with Thai partners are using to circumnavigate current UK immigration requirements. This will only happen after Brexit actually occurs, apparently within 2yrs of the official trigger date. Regardless of whether Brits in Europe will continue to enjoy visa free living & possibly health benefits etc I am sure the SS loophole that allows us with Thai partners & children to 1st move to Europe & then the UK will most surely be closed & that is

  6. It is going to be interesting, as should Britain remove the right of 'freedom of movement' then that would affect britains simply moving to Europe as they currently benefit from freedom of movement themselves, wonder what will happen to all those expats in Spain, will the be allowed to carry on living there and /or recieve free medical treatment, Britain can't have it both ways,  but agree it was immigration that was the main reason for the exit vote

  7. The French and Germans unveiling the European Superstate for post Brexit

    Eastern EU members have reservation

    Thank Christ we dodged that

Really daily mail/express, i do hope you are not basing anything on what you read in those papers, all irrelevant anyway the UK will never leave the EU. just the thought of rewriting 40 plus years of agreements, is something no government will be willing/able to do. and if you think the EU are going to helpBritain leave.

  8. The Tories policy was not to leave or hadn't you noticed?

Err.. The Tories' policy was to hold a referendum. The incoming government wouldn't hold another one, they would simply ignore the existing result based on the will of the electorate.

Stating the obvious or what? Yes, the Tories held a referendum but their mandate was remain. Are you okay?

HaHa i am fine, lets see how it plays out, the referendum is not legal or binding, Cameron has resigned, this gives them 3 months or so to waffle and do nothing, when a new prime minister is elected he will seek a mandate, or another vote

the voters only think they decide. If i'm honest i don't care either way. as someone has already posted, when the Irish said no, they had a total of 3 votes until the government won
