  1. Keep it simple, if someone tries to sell me an insurance (or a Wachtturm), <deleted> them. That bank would have lost my trust and my money. Competition is high enough.

  2. Why you would say it is extreme, if a company kicks out incapable clowns, that scare away customers. May be a problem of job education, but in the case mentioned more of greed. "have to sell promotion to get commission". I'd kick them straight out. Bad for customers, bad for the company.

  3. Changing banks would only get you a new set of faces telling you 'cannot'.

Not necessarily. I just got a new ATM card a couple of weeks ago after I lost one in an ATM. Me getting old I guess.... No insurance scam, just a replacement. Cost 100B.

  4. I would just have closed my account and go to the next best option next door.

Reminds me when I cancelled my AMEX. They did not even try to keep me as a customer. Just get rid of the nasty farang, less work for us. Some of these clowns just need to be fired and put back on the next bus to their parents ricefield.

  5. ...the Den Chai to Lampang section is simply dangerous.

I may agree to that if you drive night time as you say. But that's the case with all and every road in Thailand. If going by night, yes I'd also take the 1 for security reasons. In general I try to avoid driving after darkness.

The Den Chai route is however perfectly fine daytime and well worth using, for the scenic route, regardless if in a hurry or not. Thus probably better suited if you leave late from North to South, not the other way around.

If you leave BKK at 4...5 am it will be afternoon there and a nice ride though.

  6. It's just a short stretch through the mountains, single lane, but not too many slow moving vehicles, most trucks and buses use the 1. On the other hand it's quite a nice scenic route. Would not say it takes longer, you make a lot of headway between Pitsanulok till behind Uttaradit. And there are many take over widenings. I'm not going back to the 1 unless I have to do something in that area.

  7. Yes, that's what I meant earlier, but it's still different from the map you posted. You need to go through Pitsanulok and there on the 11 towards Uttaradit.

P.S. had a look at the map, mistake, it's not the 101 but 117 from Nakhon Sawan to Pitsanulok. So the recommended route should be BKK - 32 - NS - 117 - PL - 11 - CNX

And as an additional comment, avoid the 11 between Pitsanulok and Singburi as the plague.

    ok, so early morning

avoid the busy route road 1 and go

    BKK to Nakon Sawan

In Nakon Sawan turn on to the road 101 direction Phitsanaluk

Then turn to Road 11 direction Uttaradit

That seems to be the suggestions so far for the best and most convenient trip

    Did i miss something?

    Cheers

  8. From BKK take the 32 to Nakhon Sawan, there change to 101 till Pitsanulok and in Pitsanulok on the 11. Almost free, almost good, double-lane road, few trucks. There is a small stretch before Lampang that is single lane and some construction there, does not slow you down much.

If you leave BKK early, around 4am, no problem to avoid the morning rush hour. After Ayutthaya it will be much less traffic

  9. 2. If foreigners continue asking for Yellow Tabian Baans when they are not necessarily tied to the physical address (that is they may change residence at any time) and not do the correct cancellations of the registration, it will only get harder to obtain the yellow books.

House book registration in Thailand is not tied to a physical/residential location as in most other countries. A person just needs to be registered somewhere.

They have a countrywide computerized database and registration details of any particular person can be pulled at any district office. That's not only valid for your house book but also for other information, for instance for marriage documentation (Kor Ror 2 or 22), you can get this everywhere.

  10. Lots of high speed internet providers in Thailand.

But they all get pretty slow if using sources outside of Thailand.

(cos they all use the same international cable)

Not correct. Thailand still has 10 international gateways that connect to different other regional providers.

That one gateway thing is not yet there, but it wont make anything better.

  11. There are blue, white, green, yellow, gray. Different strength, different purpose. But you can mix them, they will glue together. Don't buy the cheap PVC cement though, SCG one (white) is ok. Thai Pipe (green can) also.

Still you wont find that "3D" connectors for 5, they only have them for 3 or possibly 4 pipes in "flat" version, you need to substitute with more than one.

Global House is a good place to look, they have all colors and available sizes.
