  1. The lowest you can do online is 50B, this adds 30 days. As I wrote you can do this 12 times to come to a one year validity. That's the cheapest option as higher topup amounts do not add validity progressively. Or just get a TRUE SIM and pay 36B for a whole year.

  2. K Bank works with MEA in Bangkok, you don't even need the bill, just the account number. The system is linked to the MEA and they have the current balance automatically. But I don't think this works with the provincial authorities (PEA).

  3. That happens if your remaining validity is still close to a year and you top up. It will add the new validity on top of the previous one. So if you had let's say 9 months left and you top up adding another 90 days you have a full year again. But that depends on your promotion.

  4. AIS prepaid lasts 12 months from last top up.

No, it doesn't. For AIS a top up of 50B adds validity of one month up to a maximum of 12 months. That is if you top up 12 x 50B separately. Higher amounts add I think up to 90 days maximum, but this have to check for a particular promotion.

With TRUE there is a specific code where you can use a small amount of money to extend the validity. 3B give you 30 days, also up to 365 days maximum. I think it was *9344. As TRUE has the better network I'd just go for the latter.

  5. I'm looking at it purely from an investment point of view and it's not attractive on the first sight. But ok, I got your point and you may be right. If it's going on a hotel like basis you have some more effort, but the daily rate more than compensates that. If management changes to the better, why not.

I'm hesitating on the low price segment as I don't want the locals who come with a fan and TV to run down the place and move on after half a year.

  6. It's a complete rundown place. You say 500k for one room, I assume that is the standard apartment size of 20sqm with a toilet. They go for 2...3000B a month if you are lucky. Not including the maintenance and repair necessary every 6 months. May still be 5% ROI, perhaps, not too bad, certainly not hitting 2 digits. But eventually you have a point here, thinking about it again :)

  7. Whatever you say about it, it is still one of not many places left in CM, where you can buy room as cheap as 500k, and rent it out for 5-6k per month, making that magic 10% number yearly return.

And with new management coming, it makes sens even more.

That's not cheap. And given the low income clientel aka teachers are gone elsewhere I'd bet my luck on something else than renting out a run down apartment block.

  8. It does not expire, just changes to another stage. Define stage and help may be on your side.

...ok, without BS, Rimping sells milk that is almost expired for a discount, then get a small Yolida or Bulgaria, throw all together. let it rest for a day, and you have Yoghurt!

  9. No harm done with my yellow book, I opened a number of bank accounts and closed them, got driver licenses, bought property, my car is registered in BKK with CNX number, so is my bike. All for what I'd have to queue for a while and fork out extra money. The pink card is actually cute, but I also have a SG PR card that is blue. They match all up nicely and when a BiB come I can pull out whatever makes him happy :)

  10. Did you consider to erase your fingerprints? There are surgical and chemical options. Just in case I mean.

(make sure they don't use the surgical prints for some high security stuff)

    :)

  11. You could try Bicyclette Cafe off Canal Rd towards Samoeng. After Royal Flora. Nice place, open space and good food. Lots of space to walk the dog and have a beer :)

  12. Why isn't a TM30 required for Extensions in CW/Bangkok?

It's not required in Chiang Mai either. You are not even supposed to have that receipt as it belongs to the Thai house master who reports you or should so.
