  1. At least twice now the red shits have used Temples,

They are so superstitious (like their Master Thaksin) that perhaps they believe that by shooting from a temple they will not be caught, or that their descent into Hell will be like a path of roses. Who knows what may be running on the minds of those maniacs!

  2. The red shirts would not have blockaded voters, they would have shot at them..... everyone knows that.

    Yes, they are terrorists"

You DO need to be educated to know the difference between FACT and OPINION. If you consider what woopydoo posted was FACT then perhaps you don't know the difference.

You don't see that almost all violent acts the last 4 years are committed by the reds?

"You don't see that almost all violent acts the last 4 years are committed by the reds?"

Your opinion, but not fact unless you can provide evidence

Please, do not answer. That kind of discussion is being endlessly repeated on an on at this forum.

Educated people can find information for themselves. eg: searching videos at Youtube

  3. "In a rare move, top military leaders will meet tomorrow to discuss a possible solution for the country at a time of political deadlock and likely confrontation between pro- and anti-government groups this Saturday"

"Top brass to step in"....Coup-monger wishful thinking.

A "rare move"?.....Coup-mongers and their supportive media trying to foment a sense of crisis where there is none. I'm sure these guys meet all the time, and to make another one appear to be something momentous obviously plays to the agenda of those needing urgency. Otherwise they just sit in Lumpini and no-one cares.

Military guys are going to solve a political deadlock?....Really?....Does knowing something about shooting a gun give one political insight?...And what is this about 'deadlock'?.....Coup-mongers not achieving their coup so far does not a deadlock make...the electoral majority is still in place and watching what the minority will try to do, in forcing their way into governance via non-electoral means. They are watching the attempts to nullify their voting choices by those trying to make a coup not appear to be one, by using Independent organizations and judicial elements. To call it a deadlock is an 'illusion of grandeur' by the minority electorate. The next election and having a governing majority in parliament, will quickly dispel any lingering notions of a political deadlock.

And no, the 'wished for' confrontation between pro-democracy and anti-democrats pretending to be 'anti-Govt.' wont happen. Yes, there will be a humongous UDD/Red Shirt rally this Saturday, as a warning shot across the bow of those contemplating a coup, but not in a location where the hoped for confrontation can occur. So the "Brass" and dissapointed Lumpini Park denizens can relax.

BTW, IMHO the only reform discussions occuring in Lumpini Park should focus on one issue, and one alone....How can we adapt ourselves to win an election in the foreseeable future....That is really the only thing the ought to think about. Only when they win an election, can they hope to advance their objectives.

and your solution is what Einstien ? - get all opposing people on the streets and have a mass shoot out - it would be a red bloodbath - you are a real brain box

Here's what needs to happen and it's very simple

    Government step down

Jail the Thieves and those that have abused Thailand and stolen almost 1 trillion baht

    Suspend the Constitution

Reform the Constitution - Political Landscape - the law - the police with input from across all walks of life in Thailand

Hold a Referendum with all the people to approve the reforms

    Hold an Election

    .................................................................

Sounds a lot better than gun attacks - bombs - grenades - murder of innocent people - murder of children and letting a violent red terrorist group run rampant across the country

Now Boppe that in your pipe and smoke it

You forgot one crucial reform that would solve at least two thirds of the problems with corruption and abuse of power at Thailand's government:

To ban from politics any person that has made a career at the Police. thumbsup.gif

  4. A post containing a link to Bangkok Post has been removed as well as reply posts:

    23) Bangkok Post do not allow quotes from their news articles or other material to appear on Thaivisa.com. Neither do they allow links to their publications. Posts from members containing quotes from or links to Bangkok Post publications will be deleted from the forum. Quotes from and links to Phuketwan are also not allowed and will also be removed. In special cases forum Administrators or the news team may use these sources.

It is a pity, because that article and the interview to Luang Pu were showing some of the good things that he and his followers are doing for the Rice Farmers. He is achieving more than what any politician has ever made for them.

  5. Hey, there's nothing to worry about! The Red Shirts are so dumb that they say that they will hand them over to the police...

That's easy then! As soon as they arrive to the Police Station, the diligent Police will put the kidnappers on jail, the NACC members will be free and safe, and Bangkok will be a better place to live with those bad guys on prison.

    wink.png

Grouxo Marx couldn't have written a better script than the one the Red Shirts are playing themselves.

  6. I would say tasteless.

Where are you living, fab4? I guess not in Bangkok, or at least not in the areas that have been frequently attacked.

I've already explained how my neighbourhood (close to Makhawan Bridge) is safer with the appreciated presence of the unarmed soldiers.

The removal of their check-points brings no benefit at all for us. What benefit it brings for you, besides your taste for aesthetics?

Can't you tolerate their presence, at least from the humanitarian point of view? Don't you feel pity for all the victims, including the children that died from the grenade attacks? sad.png

WE ARE TALKING ABOUT OUR LIVES! This is real, not a TV show.

The attacks have not stopped with the presence of the soldiers, but they have diminished, and now they use to happen only at night.

Bravo. You're really milking this, aren't you, we've gone from the dismantling of a military gazebo to whether I uphold the sanctity of life.

I am wondering if you have a heart. Not the organ that pumps blood, but the human qualities of compassion, loving kindness, carefulness, etc.

You are celebrating the removal of a protection that is preventing more disgraces and loss of lives, simply because you don't like the aesthetics. We have asked if you have further reasons beyond aesthetics, but you just make a laugh.

  7. Everybody else except Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has yet to decide whether she will run for a second term.

You were absolutely right! Surapong has already decided for her laugh.png

Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul Thursday denied that caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra would skip the next election.

So, are you not respecting life?

Or perhaps you are still not understanding the question.

Besides your dislike for the aesthetics of the military gazebos, what other reasons do you have for supporting the dismantling of Army Checkpoints that are providing real protection to us against a real risk for our lives?

  9. That's the checkpoint?

I was expecting a fortified position with sandbags and flower pots like others in Bangkok. I wasn't expecting a gazebo from Home Pro covered in "urbanised" jungle green camo.

Interesting use of the verb "demolish" as well, more a dismantling I feel, but hey, it's The Nation and Hyperbole is Good.

Since you are so in tune with the Red Shirts perhaps you could explain the motives or justification for dismantling the checkpoint?

    Motives for dismantling?

Personally speaking, I would say, Taste, as in aesthetic standards, or lack thereof

    Happy now?

    I would say tasteless.

  10. One of the violence lover red-shirts was wearing a Police jacket.

    BjpB5giCQAAxOrY.jpg

The same police paraphernalia that I can purchase at my local cop shop store! So what relevance does this have. The RTP did a great job arresting these galahs...

Sent from my i-mobile i-STYLE 8.2 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

No one has said that the "gentleman" wearing the Royal Thai Police jacket is or is not a Policeman.

What is relevant is that if you have been living enough time in Thailand, you will know the very tight links and the accomplicement between the RTP and the Red Shirt army of Thaksin.

Few weeks ago, since the RTP was the target of criticism for not providing protection to the citizens of Bangkok against the violent attacks, the Red Shirts organized a parade (In Chiang Mai, I believe) for showing their support to their Police.

    RedShirt-Police%201.jpg

look at the hat: I am RED, and at the T-Shirt: I love Police. same same...

Not surprising unfortunately. Proof if needed that police are just as bad as the reds, hardly surprising the PDRC don't trust the police at all when we see evidence like this is it...

where is a red shirt..??? I keep looking not saw one yet...

I apologize for not having provided enough details on my explanation. I should rewrite it as "a member of the Red Shirts Group" for your better understanding, and to avoid wasting your time searching for an actual red-colored shirt.

Recently, they are even wearing white-color shirts!! They are amazing biggrin.png

  12. This is very sad.

Thanks to the checkpoints of the unarmed Royal Thai Army, the street where I live (close to Makhawan Bridge) is a safer place to be. Not 100% free of attacks, but at least the coward terrorist are not attacking during the day.

They are providing a security to the citizens that the Police is not offering, they are very kind with the neighbours (and vice-versa), and they are also equipped with emergency medical aid support.

This is an image of the Red Shirts dismounting the checkpoints

    RedShirtAttackArmy.jpg

And what is your point? I don't mind if you don't like the words that I choose, but what are you trying to say? Are you trying to justify the dismantling? Do you have some problem with the weakness of that particular checkpoint?. Most of them are protected with a wall of sandbags - perhaps they already removed them. Anyway, why is that detail so relevant to you?

  13. And who is going to judge the attitude of the Police?

They were at the scene, as it can be seen on the videos, but they were only interested in searching the bag of the monk.

The police failed to stop the lynching, and they failed to provide the monk with protection or evacuation to a safe place. After a group of kind people provided protection to the monk, it was necessary to call the Royal Thai Army to intervene, because the Red Shirt mob was waiting for the opportunity to keep on their barbarian beating, and it was the unarmed soldiers who escorted the monk back to his monastery.

    Royal%20Thai%20Army.jpg

Did the Police earned their payment this month?

was there a lynching? did not see any rope or telephone pole. do you know what the term "lynching" means? get a life!

Thank you very much for providing me with a free lesson in English Language. smile.png

The equivalent word in Spanish “linchamiento” can mean to beat someone without actually killing him.

I made a mistake by assuming that it has the same connotation in English.

    http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linchamiento

Could you please provide me with another free lecture, and explain what do you mean with the expression “get a life!” in this particular context? Thank You.

  14. The Army had guns, why didn't they defend themselves? Usual Thai craven behaviour ...

Keep calm and check your facts. The soldiers at these checkpoints are NOT armed.....

That's right, and the reason they are allowed to display the Red Cross signs.

If those are taken down then be warned.

The Red Cross sign has been taken down from the checkpoint at Wat Mongkut (besides the UN/Makhawan Bridge) but I believe that this is because someone complained that the army was not allowed to display the Red Cross sign without express authorization from the Red Cross.

Nevertheless, I have seen no weapons inside, just a collection of teddy bears sitting in a row (a gift from their children). Now the soldiers are wearing an arm band with the Red Cross symbol. I guess that they are allowed to wear that arm band if they are medical team.

I cross some words with them every day (not about politics or their mission, just casual conversation). They are very nice guys, and their presence is very much appreciated by the neighborhood.
