    A while back there was a Dutch guy who had an interest in a jetski business on Pattaya beach. He bought the jetskis and a Thai guy rented them out and arranged repairs when needed. Presumably profits were shared somehow. Every Christmas Day morning the Dutch guy dressed up as Father Christmas and rode up and down the coastline waving and shouting Merry Christmas to everybody. It warmed my heart, anyway.

    In Pattaya the PM's company built The Edge and The Base condos, Thaksin's firm built the Centric Sea condo. All 3 are on 2nd Rd and are close to the proposed development. Coincidence perhaps?

    AWC are the property arm of Chang and they own huge tracts of vacant land on Pattaya 2nd Rd between Klang and Central Marina mall. Their proposed development there includes 2 Marriott hotels, retail space, a zoo, a Legoland and facilities for MICE visitors including "convention centres". Soi 6 is very close by for good measure.

    Very rich and successful men do partake in P4P. Andrew Neill was; still is; a highly regarded journalist, ex- editor of the Times and he partook some years ago.

    I remember reading A Day In The Life of Ivan Denisovich. Bleak but reccomended.

    My condo complex has a locksmith on call to deal with such events. The couple of times I have used them the charge was 300 Baht. That wouldn't get a locksmith out of bed in my home country. Speak to whoever is on duty in your condo lobby.
