The Star Dice venue is pretty much ready-made for any new enterprise. -
Southeast Asia’s largest Indian restaurant opens in Pattaya
champers replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
A place called Annapurna on Soi 4 Pattaya Nua often had 6 coaches outside. It was an Indian buffet restaurant and it has closed recently. Star Dice used to be a Thai discotheque doubling up as a venue for Issan singing acts pre-Covid. Maybe it will be used similarly by the Indians. Big traffic jams will ensue on Naklua Rd if this place takes off. -
Southeast Asia’s largest Indian restaurant opens in Pattaya

Must be expecting a lot of Indian coach parties, 20 at a time with the size of the place. -
I sometimes watch RT in English on my TV in Pattaya, provider BTV. It exists.

Israeli man arrested at Phuket Airport with 55 firearm bullets
champers replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Maybe he obtained them in Phuket. -
This is similar to the BP article I read (which I cannot link). https://www.thaipbsworld.com/legalisation-of-5-casinos-proposed-in-thailand-with-30-tax-collection/

They plan to allow 5 casinos, 1 in each of the 5 regions with Pattaya picked for the Eastern region. Locations are still to be determined for the other 4 regions. I doubt any operater would invest in a hiso only enterprise.

Gen Prawit confirms Thais Can Watch World Cup

Laugh at Prawit all you like but he is one of 2 contenders to be the next PM; Anutin is the other. -
I have just been in Best supermarket at Dolphin Circus. I didn't look to see if Crunchips were in but they normally are. They certainly had plenty of Lorenz potato sticks.

I think the business model I quoted is tried and tested on a global scale over decades. The one you made up (after a few beers?) isn't in play anywhere as far as I know, not even in James Bond fims. Hi Roller facilities are always part of a much larger operation.

They are the ultra cheap charlies who sit on the steps at 7/11 nursing a Leo for a big night out.

They cater for all sorts of gamblers from hi rollers to those pumping money into one armed bandits and everything in between.

Is the World Cup on free to air TV in Thailand
champers replied to Marcomilton7's topic in General Topics
The Sport Authority of Thailand announced a couple of weeks ago that they will ensure all games will be broadcast on Thai TV channels. Apparently, no commercial enterprise is coughing up the required broadcast fees so it is now on the Government to pay. -
Prayut wants Xi to come to APEC next month, yet in both Pattaya and now Bangkok the police are demonising the Chinese and stirring up anti-Chinese sentiment. The police are tuned out politically and their motivation seems to be brown envelopes or the amounts inside them. In Pattaya the mostly Thai clentele left the raided club without being drug tested. The club's Chinese owner is being demonised (maybe justifiably). In Bangkok all the mostly Chinese clientele can't leave the building and all get drug tested.

The Official Manchester United Thread
champers replied to Jonathan Fairfield's topic in Football forum
Some are waiting for him to produce consistent match-winning performances but I think this is as good as it gets for him. He was over-hyped when he joined Utd; not least by the BBC in Salford who portrayed him as a Messi/Ronaldo hybrid. Not the lad's fault, of course, but unhelpful. Fact is - if he was top drawer he wouldn't have been let go by City. They got a % of the sell-on fee when he left Dortmund. Good business for them, not so for Utd. He will probably end up at Everton or some other non-achievers. -
This place has just changed name, it was previously called Bone. It is on Soi Pettrakul (correct spelling) behind Terminal 21 and was busted earlier in the year for still being open at 5am. It was also open last NYE even though at the time it was still forbidden for nightclubs to open. There seems to be some long running dispute with the BIB resulting in these sporadic raids. It seems the issue is in regard to the size of the brown envelope. Incidentally, there are a lot of Thai beer garden type places on that soi and I doubt they all close on time.
