  1. I am happy to be a slaphead in this climate, plus I have saved a fortune not buying shampoo.
  2. When the Glazers bought Utd all independant and organised Utd fans were legally obliged to sell to the Glazers, so small and insignificant was their % of total shares. By the way, Utd were getting nowhere near 60K through the gate when Knighton showed an interest. English football in general was in the dumps then.
  3. Unless these "resorts" have their own beerbars, karaokes and go-gos the guests will be venturing out and dodgy pavements will not deter them.
  4. They did vote, in 2016. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Thai_constitutional_referendum
  5. You do understand that casinos will be bringing new and extra custom to Pattaya? It isn't a case of "either/or" for those already here.
  6. Yes; the process is well advanced already. Pattaya will get one to start with, as will 4 other regions. Where, not when or if, is the question now. My guess is somewhere on 2nd Road between Klang and Central Marina. Plenty of vacant land; mostly owned by Chang's property arm; awaiting redevelopment. The money involved will dwarf that of the cannabis trade.
  7. It would be number 3; they have opened a 2nd branch on Soi 5 in Jomtien. Pretty busy during Immigration opening hours, not sure about weekends, bank holidays and evening hours.
  8. The station is in 3rd pic, purple sign. I stand to be corrected.
  9. From the pics in the article, it looks like this took place opposite the police station. What gives?
  10. Fair enough, but I disagree that enough Brits and Aussies are around, particularly when compared to 15 or even 10 years ago. Their food is OK but no big deal. I would maybe go once a month or so. Gregs tried to make a go of it accross from the Crystal Palace Hotel but didn't succeed; not enough customers. Prior to Covid more and more Chinese and Korean places were moving into the area. I wish Cheap Charlies well, wherever they end up expanding.
  11. I think this is a non-starter. There are not enough Western expats or tourists in the area, German speakers excepted and they are well catered for. Kiss didn't renew their lease for a reason, same for World of Sport. I think The Darkside or Pratumnak areas are more likely destinations.
  12. Dad's Army off to the front just as the cold weather starts to come in. What could go wrong? Protestors are calling for big demos tomorrow (Saturday) accross Russia.
  13. ... and in another thread we are told the deputy mayor wants all kites for sale removed from the beach. Priorities, priorities.
  14. Where is the problem? It isn't at night and the boats are powered by oars not motors.
  15. Is it illegal in Thailand to use a phone while driving?
  16. The very cheapest places might be missing some of the things normally included in the price: TV, fridge, microwave, some furniture. Maybe not a big problem if you are a long-stayer and can buy yourself.
  17. On Beach Rd opposite Beer Garden. It opens 23rd this month, next Friday. Presumably, all will be revealed then.
  18. Ex Bamboo Bar regulars, according to one YT vlogger, so they may move on to the new Bamboo Bar opening next week.
  19. Pre Covid, the entrance to the Base was like Piccadilly Circus with mainly Chinese guests checking in and out. Not so at Centric Sea. I also know and have known some residents at Centric Sea who are pleased that where they live is not like the Base is. As your Agoda link proves, short term renting is not completely eradicated but there is a clear difference between the 2 locations.
  20. 6 months is the preferred minimum rental period at the larger developments. Centric Sea are apparently quite strictly opposed to short-term stays, the Base less so.
