I would like to see an Arts quarter in Pattaya, sited away from the girly bars but still in the central area - maybe the Northern end of 2nd Rd. River City in Bangkok could possibly be the template. Incidentally there are some nice paintings currently being exhibited at RGP up the escalator at the 2nd Road end. I happened accross it by accident, a nice way to pass half an hour.

Yesterday I had a wander round Walking St and surrounding sois and it is slowly returning to what it is famed for: bars with sexy girls waiting to take their customers money. The go-gos, including those owned by the Chinese and Russians, will have to wait a while longer but all together Walking Street has enough collective financial clout to repel any notions of gentrification or becoming a family oriented destination. The mayor can tidy up the pavements, stop sewage spewing into the sea and clear away the overhead cables but no more than that, please.
