I live in Koh Phangan and there is always a good selection of Hawaiian shirts in the markets, at good prices. I first started wearing them when I bought a couple of Tommy Bahamas shirts in Santa Monica. Smarter than a t shirt on occasion. Even though I live here, I would never show of my hairy armpits with some of the classless crap worn here.

I had endovascular surgery to repair an abdominal aortic aneurysm a few years back and following an ultrasound exam in BKK hospital Samui, it seems that the aneurysm may be leaking. To be sure, I need to have a CT Scan, using contrasting dye. The problem with this is that I have stage 5 ckd with a gfr of 15 and the dye is likely to finish off the kidneys and necessitate dialysis immediately. Obviously I need to see a good vascular surgeon ASAP. Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your reply Sheryl. We live in Koh Phangan, so Bangkok would probably make sense. As you have suggested, We need to see a specialist, who can advise us of the best way forward. The doctor at Surat Thani hospital, apart from the blood transfusions has given us folic acid and vitamin pills and told us to come back in 3 months (15 Jan) There are several problems that I can see for myself, the girl is very anemic and pale, even jaundiced and her spleen is obviously enlarged which is making it difficult for her to pee, although it doesnt hurt her.

My GF and I are looking after a 9 yo Thai girl, who has Thalassemia Beta and will be in need of this transplant, if she is to live a normal life. So far she has had 2 blood transfusions at the Surat Thani government hospital, at no cost, but as I will have to pay for surgery, I would be grateful if anyone knows of a pediatrician that specialises in this field that I can get in touch with.

Some advice/opinions please on moving to Hua Hin
delgarcon replied to delgarcon's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am
Nothing yet hk. We`ve had our house painted and a few repairs here and there taken care of, but the road where we live is flooded at the moment and the concrete road that the authorities have promised us is on hold until the rain abates. When we get round to a visit, I`ll certainly give you an update -

My main address is in France, I lived there for 15 years, the DWP know that and send life certificated there. There are too many of you that make false assumptions and yes they also know that I spend most of the winter in Thailand. You dont have to be in the UK for 6 months, I thought you knew that. -

IMPORTANT INFORMATION My bank called me today and said that they needed to update my account details, which would take 20 minutes or so and it seems that transam was right to warn us. They asked me if my address and phone number were correct, no problem, but then they started asking me where I was and after I told them I spend the winters in Thailand and Barbados. they then asked me how long I spend in England, to which I replied at least 6 months in Europe, including England. They then sent me an e-mail and part of the text was as follows What we need you to do Please send us certified* photocopies of the original documents. We require one item of documentation from the list below to evidence your identity: Your passport (a photocopy of your visa is also required to be certified if you are a non-EU national currently visiting the UK and providing documentation to any NatWest branch) Your photo card drivers’ licence (if you are a UK/EU national) Your EU National Identity Card (if applicable) Please do not send originals. Mobile phone bills and internet access bills will not be accepted. The below options can be used to certify your documentation which should be personally presented to: A NatWest branch if you are living in/visiting the UK Another bank. The full address of the branch and name of the certifying officer will be required A lawyer, notary or accountant (or local equivalent) During the conversation I asked the lady if I was legally bound to answer their questions to which she answered no, but we may well close your account if you dont. Anyway, I will be telling the DWP about my recent move to Thailand in the very near future as it looks like the party is well and truly over. -
