  1. I made my usual 90 day report online, a few days ago and this time it was rejected, telling me to visit my nearest Imm office immediately, which happens to be Koh Phangan. I took copies of my online request and receipt and subsequent rejection from Thai Immigration and had to do the whole thing again by hand, together with a TM30 with the house owner (my gf) present. As usual, there was no explanation of why the online report was rejected and whether or not I could continue online reports in future. I will just have to wait and see! I've been here almost 12 years now and haven't left Thailand since October 2019 (my last re-entry) and I've found nothing in Thailand quite as traumatic as a visit to the Immigration office.
  2. Hardly plummeting, it's normal for there to be a bit of profit taking after a series of gains.
  3. If you can call the Premium Bonds draw a lottery, I won £20000 back in 1998.
  4. Looks like it was a black kite.
  5. I took this photo today from my garden in Koh Phangan
  6. With the aid of Browsec, today I binged on the 4 episodes of Archie and loved it. It's all on ITVx.
  7. Some of you would have already watched Spartacus (2010-2013 series), but if you haven't I urge you to do so. Imo, it's up there with the best that television has to offer and is a MUST see.
  8. I was looking through the sports section of the BBC online and I saw that Australia were 50 for 4 in reply to Afghanistan's 293 and decided to watch the rest of the match, as a win for Afghanistan was on the cards. At 91 for 7 it looked all over for Oz, but what transpired amounted to, probably the best run chase you could ever see. Although he was struggling with cramp, Maxwell managed to put together an amazing 201 from 128 balls to win it for Australia. If you didn't see it, watch the highlights, especially Maxwell's innings, I can't imagine ever seeing the like of it again.
  9. I would want to see where the remarks were added before I turned up at the gate with the ticket.
  10. I just finished watching "The Little Drummer Girl", a 6 part mini series on the BBC i Player. It's a good adaptation of John Le Carre's espionage novel and will keep you up for 2 or 3 nights.
  11. Do you know, I can't remember ever being stuck in traffic when hiring a Tuk Tuk. The drivers know the short cuts in Bkk and don't get stuck very often. I'm quite happy to brave the elements and don't need the creature comforts offered by thieving taxi drivers.
  12. A couple of years back I had to spend some time in Bkk and wasn't ideally placed for public transport. Instead of renting a bike or car, I got a local tuk tuk driver to give me his phone number so that I could call him when I needed a ride. Our arrangement worked fine and wasn't expensive.
  13. The lady was turning right. The guy will probably get away with it, but I reckon it was just as much, if not more, his fault. He was probably speeding, he had no front headlight and he obviously wasn't driving with due care and attention as he noticed the SUV turning right at the last minute when he then changed lanes. Some of you have been quick to call the woman an idiot, but the poor thing didn't see the oncoming mc coming.
  14. I binged on 4 episodes of Penny Dreadful as the ratings persuaded me to stick with it. There's no question that the series is a real work of art, but it's really not for me. Thanks anyway Andrew, I'm sure horror fans will love it.
  15. Only one answer, you're a long time dead and there's no rush.
  16. Who and where is he? I too have CKD and am not happy with the doctors I've seen
  17. Are your kidneys functioning ok, what's the GFR? If ok, then you should cut down eating foods with high potassium content such as potatoes, dark green vegetables, mangoes etc. You can google the question "which veg and fruits are high in potassium" Don't overdo it though, as not enough potassium is not good either.
