Why can't Russian government fly them out? Thai airspace isn't closed to flights from Russia.

I carried both p.ports for a while. When I left TH the stamp transfer was done at the airport. No fee.

Seem like you are not fully aware of world events, he may not have run out of money but since the US and EU have sanctioned Russia their citizens cannot axcess funds from Russian banks to buy tickets to fly home. Cannot use Master Card, Visa or American Expres cards . That is the reason that the Thai Gov is giving them free 60 day extensions as they don't have the 1900 baht to pay for them. The Gov is also giving them help with accomedations and trying to get Russia to send planes to pick up the 3,000 plus still stuck in Thailand.
They also have few plane flying to Russia now.
They can fly to Helsinki & from there catch the train. Other link is via Serbia/Belgrade.

They can fly to Helsinki & get on the train home to Russia. Russians use the route to travel internationally. Demand for the service made the operator increase train frequency. No need to be stuck in Thailand.

I came back in Dec on Thai pass - booked holiday inn express through Agoda about 5K baht included everything. 3 average meals but absolutely no complaint.
We booked directly with Landmark Hotel Test&Go. Easy, efficient, price 5.000 approx. Food was good. Test done @Bumrungrad. Result within 5hrs.

No it's not. 'Endemic' status is defined by the authorities in consultation with medical authorities- World peace isn't.
Endemic means when fatality rate is down to 0.1. Now it it 0.83 approx. Some way to go.

Sounds good, I might try this place
Got a quote from Bangkok Christian Hosp. (probably similar to the hospitals mentioned) of 400 Baht, BUT have to pay additional doctor fee, service charge,...... (costs not specified).
Doctor's fee there is quite low. Paid 600Baht f dermatologist recently. Of course it depends on doc.

I can agree with those 2 statements. I know the risk of beng unvax'd & accept that.
Why can't you accept my choice, as it affects you in no way what so ever. I carry the same risk of infected you, as a vaccinated person. We both can get & transmit.
If everyone was vaccinated, then only vaccated people would be getting & transmitting the virus. Not seeing any difference, you would stll be at risk.
Your "choice" may occupuy a hospital bed a person with a heart attack can't get because of your avoidable infection.

LMAO hope you guys enjoy your quarterly boosters.
Someone has to make sure Pfizer reaches their quarterly sales target.
No better feeling than being able to make my own health decisions based off my risk profile.
For your sake, hope you don't make a wrong decision.

My prediction? It gets scrapped once they realize the tourist numbers are not rising.
What will not get scrapped is the app they will force you to install on your phone at the airport.
Nobody forced me to install the app.

My SIL got covid was out for it for quite some time. Now she is reclaiming her stamina. I am not saying everyone will recover fully but many people will especially if they exercise and take care of their diet. If you have had lung damage that might be a problem. But it depends a lot on how healthy you were before. If not that healthy you can even get more healthy then before by just exercising and increasing VO2Max.
So it depends on what kind of shape you were before, believe it or not most of us can improve a lot if we really want too. But if you expect to get back to normal without any effort then that might not work.
But in the more serious cases its quite possible you will never be able to get back to normal. Not to overlook that LC also affects kids.

Was it impossible to get a printed document of the hand written statement of your US doctor? ButI guess, even if you got one they would have found another reason to deny entry.
I hope you and your GF can get over it soon and you can see your mom before it's too late.
I don't think it is just Thai authorities being awkward. The poster didn't do his homework either. It is no secret what the PCR test report has to state: e.g. method of testing.

Hope you can see your mum.
I feel sorry for the person. But the airline shld have never allowed boarding.
I'm puzzled why a lab test was not clearly specified by the hospital doing it. As every country has diff. requirements what the test cert. has to specify, the traveller should have known.
The lab I went to in Munich knew what the paper has to show for entry to TH, so did Qatar Airways.

Your permit to stay is important not the day your visa expires. I assume that is March 7th.
There is no 7 day extension. It is 7 day to leave the country after the 1900 baht fee is paid and the application is denied.
The 800k baht must be in the bank for 2 months on the day you apply for the extension.
Permission ends March 7.
Found help in the meantime.

How many days are you short for the 2 months are you from the date your allowed stay ends?
Many immigration offices would allow to apply late after you pay the 500 baht a day overstay fine. I have heard of it being done 15 days late.
Our visa expires 7 March.
Money arrived 3 Feb.
I was hoping to get 7 day ext. to 14 March. This would leave me about 20? days short. I'm not sure if they calculate the 2 months from 1 st of the month or from arrival of money? Don't mind paying overstay if possible.
We just need a stay till end April & will return to Bkk in Sept.
Tks for any helpful input.

You entered on non O.
You most likely cannot obtain covid extension.
Perhaps explain to io that you require time to season the funds and ask for covid extension.
Doubt it.
Use agent to obtain extension.
Should be around 15k.
Where are you located.
When does current permission of stay end.
How long do you wish to remain in Thailand.
Tks for responding. Current permission to stay ends 7 March. I assume I can get an extra 7 days ext.?
We would like to stay another 2 months.
We are based in Bkk.
Don't mind paying for an agent. However, it should be done above board.
One agent was going to do ret. extension outside Bangkok, only needed our p.port. Don't like the sound of it.
Other agent, who offered fell ill with C19 and has gone quiet.
Any idea who best to contact?
Tks.

To be fair, I have emailed plenty of SHA plus+ in Buriram but this is the first I have had a reply from, so will wait and see.
I really think that now even Australia is opening up that the Thai's may drop this nonsense. ????????
Why would Australia opening influence dual pricing in Thailand?

We arrived early Dec on nonimm-O visa based on retirement. Idea was to get Covid ext. as this would have just given us the time to stay out of cold Europe.
With no more ext. possible our only option is to go for ordinary ext. based on retirement. We got the money but time till visa expiry even with 7 day ext. is too short.
Was offered by an agent to get "out of town visa". Only need passbook copy, no bank letter. I don't feel happy with such a deal as I suspect it will create problems in the future.
Would it be worthwhile to try/hope for Covid ext. with retirement ext. following on?
What are options if there are any options?
We've been living in TH for 19 yrs on nonimm-O multi entry. Pity this is no more available.
Thanks for any helpful reply.
