I have no idea how they file the withheld tax if one doesn't have a tax ID number.....but presume it's filed under the person's name and account number.  Given revenue would also have the written bank verification of the account number, amount withheld, person's name, and address (all that information is on the forms issued by SCB and Bangkok Bank), I'd guess that the revenue department wouldn't have any problem matching it up.

I assume it is the same as in EU. No tax no. & you pay max rate 35% tax at source which goes to general tax office account. It is no more than making sure everybody pays regardless. If you want it back, you have to file a return. Learnt this in 2 yrs in EU recently.

I think the Brits, especially the younger ones, with their NHS kinda forget that in most countries it's not a totally free system and there is a price to pay.

I feel so sorry for the family, but the tales of youngsters in Thailand, little reckless, in a country renown for terrible traffic accidents are so common, and the subsequent 'GoFundme' accounts someone needs to set up a serious ad campaign before these guys get on a plane to tell them the risks

Brits go skiing in Austria, hurt themselves & are surprised that hospitals want money up front. Many can't even be bothered to carry their EHIC card to at least get patched up to be able to fly home for treatment.

It's a shame the OP article doesn't seem to clarify whether the France donated Moderna doses are the older, original version or the newer bivalent version specifically tailored against the current Omicron strains.

The separate recent donation by South Korea was, if memory serves, the newer bivalent doses... But.. unless I missed something, there's been NADA from the Thai government since they received the SK doses of just how and where they're going to be used.

Yes, there are dates published when you can get a jab in Bkk as long as you are older than 12 ????

    Was nr. Victory Monument.

Unless I'm greatly mistaken you can only get extension of stay stamps moved to a new passport at the office that originally issued it.

So that would mean you slog on down to Phuket to get it transferred.

You're out nothing but time by going to Chaengwattana (Section N) and try.

This is the form you need, it lists the copies that are required

For a British pport you need a letter from the embassy to confirm a new pport has been issued. You may need  this letter for a US pport. Otherwise they send you away.

Both times I had a new passport, I just let them transfer the stamp at the airport while leaving with embassy letter in hand. Yes they will pull you aside and take you to the desk to do the transfer but both times took less then 5 minutes. I try not to step into any offices anymore as IOs have gotten far worse attitudes lately.

    I did the same.

Yes we understand the bank account stuff, just clueless about how to get a condo owner to give us what we need.  We are in Bangkok and will deal with immigration there.  Do they not need a condo lease to get this started?

I've been to renew my non O retirement ext. yesterday. Yes, they wanted my lease or confirmation from landlord that I live there. In my case easy as landlord is a company. I also needed TM30 from landlord. He is legally required to register yr mother to get TM30 once she moved in. Surely, you don't move & pay without a contract?

As long as someone thinks it is “great value,” someone is willing to pay and there is no incentive to lower prices.

Exactly.  Economics 101, laws of supply and demand. I don’t think airline and hotel hotel prices have anything to do with each other. One can’t control the other. The thirst for travel hasn’t subsided yet after the pandemic. I think airline prices will remain sky high. I am paying at least 50% more than prepandemic for flights! It won’t stop me from traveling but it stings.

Lufthansa just announced they are back to pre pandemic profit. No surprise considering their fares.

The insurer would have to prove that alcohol was the root cause of the accident .

Just the fact the insured has been drinking is not enough for the insurer to deny the claim .

The limit is quite low to lose yr license. Will it be different when you fall off a balcony.
