  1. Vietjet were arguing about me being 0.9 KG over my 20 KG paid extra allowance earlier this year. It was juice , so couldnt move to cabin bag. Booked with Lion Air this week. They all put extras on.
  2. Lots for sale , only 1 or 2 years old. Does that point to any servicing issues ?. If there is a local dealer for any specific parts - who looks like they will be around for a while - then any decent MC shop will be able to service it. Secondhand prices have taken a hit from new , so some good prices.
  3. I just completed this quiz. My Score 50/100 My Time 134 seconds
  4. Jump to battery or jump to live post if the battery is in the trunk.
  5. Read again. There was someone inside the vehicle. Pull cable hood release , connect to battery post.
  6. Yes , it is an older BMW. Cable operated hood. Pull hood catch and charge battery from the charge port within engine bay. All BMW,s have them if the battery is in trunk.
  7. Ignoring the rally model , i thought there were 3 models. Red with abs , red without abs and grey (abs unknown). It seems im wrong. The thai models , for sale in Chiang Mai , dont have abs. None of them. This seemed true after several visits to Honda showrooms in CM. A salesman did , however , let slip the 2025 models have it. What models , we dont know. He was quickly shut down by another salesman. Was he wrong , or are they just trying to sell the "old" models first ?. Just need to decide whether to order one now or wait untill the 2025 models specifications are confirmed. Elswhere in some other countries the models do have abs , and the rear can be turned off. On the fly or not i dont know.
  8. Does anyone have any confirmed information as to whether the coming 2025 model/s have abs on the Thai models. Not interested in the rally model. After the grey/black LS model. Dealers cant /wont say. Thanks.
  9. My late mother and father won several thousand pounds on the Mail,s Spot the ball.
  10. Terrible joke. Your grounded.
  11. Sorry to just read about your accident. May i ask who you are insured with , and if you dont mind , what is the price / level of cover. Seems your treatment has been good so far. Speedy and full recovery.
  12. The rule has been IDP is valid for 3 months constant single use . Whether the police check , or know , is another point. A UK IDP is still £5.50 , but now has a 3 year life.
  13. KOVE bikes have being receiving fantastic reviews from many testers , however ive been in touch with them (very professional response) and sadly there are no plans as of yet to import into Thailand. Maybe they need to be sure of a decent customer base , before commiting to opening dealerships. The Mash bikes seem to get good reviews if your after a stylish cruiser type bike.
  14. There is a company called Cover for you , that are very good. Unlimited engine size if you have a full UK licence , and helmet etc.
  15. Modern antifreeze/coolants have OAT technology (organic acid technology) so they no longer taste sweet , to prevent accidental consumption. Older vehicles may not be suitable to this newer stuff , including the dreaded Ethanol.
  16. A book . Good idea. I remember when the "Grey imports" came out. There was even a monthly magazine dedicated to them. Bikes you couldnt get in England. The biggest shop seemed to be BAT motorcycles. A friend bought a NC 30 from DK motorcycles (Stoke ?) and asked me to ride it home to Solihull. Went rather well. The willingness to rev and the razor like handling sets these small race replicas apart from the more agricultural bikes. The Tiger would have been an excellent choice too.
  17. Thank you. Thats put my mind at ease. Guess i owe you that beer !
  18. No-one told me there was a 90 day tourist visa (SEVT). I was hoping one existed as im worried ir i book the flights and dont get the extension , im stuffed , and will have to book another flight.
  19. Thats perfect. Thank you everyone for your help.
  20. In the previous years i got a 60 day tourist visa from Thai embassy in London , by post. Can i do this again except for 90 days , or just get a 60 day tourist visa again , then extend once in TH.
  21. Sorry , i should have said its just a holiday / tourist visa im after. I dont qualify for marriage visa , nor am i paying the 65,000 each month. Thanks.
  22. Hello all. I will be returning to Chiang Mai in April. I usually stay for 2 months , but this time intend to stay for 3 months. Would it be easier to get a 90 day visa in the UK (if possible) or should i get my usual 60 day visa , and extend it once i arrive ?. If so . how do i best do this. Also , do i book the return flight the same time as the outbound flight. Ie , up to 90 days later. Im concerned if i dont get the extra 30 day extension , i will have to re_book the return flight. Many thanks.
  23. My 61 mini , with leaded seams , liked Duckhams QXR with some Slick 50 and a Unipart filter !
