  1. How did he do this, the land was flat no slopes, some tractors flip over when pulling a load from above the back axal, the tractor front comes up and over it goes. But it looks if this one is pulling its load from the standard draw bar, that draw bar looks well homemade. I saw this article on a Thai web site yesterday, it was not a steel beam it was pulling but a steel cage, the logs as said were in the cage to prevent tea leaves, thieves, from steeling the logs, OP check your facts .......yet again. I would say the cage got stuck to much weight. he pulled to hard and over the tractor went.
  2. Just walk 100 yards down the road to a mom-and-pop shop they will sell you some booze.
  3. Guy up the road from us is worker looking after 100 rie of newly planted trees, he has a small house all run on solar cell no, PEA, think about it. His main job is watering the newly planted trees, from bore holes, again all solar cell.
  4. We were told yesterday that the shears were "worthless". So, how much is worthless, if before iTV lost its frequency, so lets just say, the shears where worth 100 baht each after the company lost it frequency the shears were worth 2 baht each, they may be worthless to the owner, but to the EC they are still worth something, and the main thing still in his name. I would say he kept the shears in the hope that they might rise again, unlikely but they you go.
  5. A good question, but as the OP said the TV company's shares where about worthless after the iTV frequency was blocked, so could he have sold some just about worthless shares.
  6. Sounds like head stock bearings, could be over tight. Put bike on main stand, with some weight on the back, the front folks /wheel should just drop to each side under they own weight, if they do not could be too tight or lacking some grease. To see if they are lose grab the front wheel and try and move it backward and forwards, any movement at the headstock bearing are to lose. I have a side car on my Wave and I had to replace the headstock bearings, sidecars are heavy on head stock bearings, the wife nephew reluctantly did the job, like your bike you spend more time taking all the plastic off than replacing the bearings. I had a Kawa GTO I replaced the headstock bearings on that, did them one hour at lunch time between jobs. nice simple job.
  7. The same field same place photo taken this evening, weeds are growing well, as of yet no other work done on this field. A green manure.?
  8. I would look at this way, you could keep some fish in a pond, but you could not keep fish in a well. But, as we have found a pond is alright, you have water for irrigation, but during the dry season evaporation is high, but, at say 8 meters deep maybe not so much of a problem, and what is the soil type, on light soil water could leach away, heavy land should retain the water, you might have to put in a pond liner.
  9. That will be the last time I use Microsoft/Bing, I wrote, what year was the Honda Wave introduced into Thailand, and it come up as 2013. If that is AI for you, which I think the answer was ,in a drop-down box, the machines can come and take over. PS. send one to me tomorrow morning my bike needs an oil change, getting down on my hands and knees under the bike is getting hard work
  10. And how many people use agents because they cannot speak Thai or are to laze to learn. I did my retirement extension last month went on my own in and out in 35 minuets and that was plus 90 day, never used an agent and hopeful I never will. One of the many advantages of speaking Thai, the IO is more combatable have seen them they trying to speak a bad pidgin English with some farang just hard work on both sides. And if all your paper in order, should be no problems. ps. I like to think I have a full brain.
  11. For a house try something like this, Penty about. bigger than this one too, this one is made of Teak wood, others I have seen a metal frame with pressed cement boards, you will have to build a bathroom. You can put where you like, any problems load it up and move it somewhere else, this photo I took a few years ago, it was 250 000-baht, metal frame ones would be a lot cheaper.
  12. They are different markets around the world for about the same modal of motorcycles, the first Honda wave 125 cc in Thailand was made in 2013, before that they were 100 and 110cc modals only fitted with kickstarts. For the UK market riders like the electric start, that was a big thing when Honda launched the CB 750 in 1969 a bike with an electric foot. Back to Thailand, I have asked why a 125cc Wave 10000 baht more than the 110-cc modal, I was told the 125 is another tax bracket, and an Eletric start modal is/was 1800 baht more than a kickstart modal. I would say that is why the 100/110ccWave around for a while before the 125cc modal was launched, Honda did its homework found a ready market, even with the price hike, now the rest is history.
  13. Just look for the sign พ.ร.บ,Por Ror Bor,it is what we use for our bikes ,they should be one locally ,they taxed and insured our bikes, my Wave 600 baht.
  14. I did not know that 20-year-old Waves had a starter motor, thought it was kickstart only. Starter motors being fitted to fuel injection modals. My Wave has 120000on the clock still original starter motor, only thing I have had to replace was the battory.
  15. As someone from the other side of the Atlantic, been fowling this as lot of political pundits have been saying on the radio for the past month, it is party politics, it will be resolved at the last moment, there is no way they will default.
  16. Drainage is important, dig the tree up and dig a hole 2 foot, put some stones /rocks in then put some soil back on top and re plant, this will help drainage. I panted a lime tree a few years ago it would not do, so I did the above, re planted the tree, and away it went. Aggee on Powdery Mildew.
  17. In our area it was business as usually at election time, the wife got 500 baht, as before, as did most of her family, she still voted for MFP, the money come from another party.
  18. This caught my eye, shade is ok, nice to sit down with a beer in the evening etc. But. Big trees will use a lot of water and nutrient and they can draw them from a fair way, the land near the trees will need a lot of work done to get it fertile enough to grow something on. Also, a lot of plants do not like a lot of shad and will not grow, we have a row of Gratin trees, tall legume trees on our border with our neighbor, we grow Nappier grass for the cattle in places 3-4 meters form the trees nothing grows just too much shade, you will only have 1 Rie you could be losing a lot of growing land . But you could keep your chickens they.
  19. I would not hold your breath, the years I have worked with cattle in Thailand, they were an insurance scheme though the Department of Livestock Development but that was stopped a good few years ago. But now I would say they is no insurance, if they were it would be too easy to make a false claim a death certificate could soon be forged, as for cause of death something like this a company would need a PM Post Mortem, I would doubt if they is a vet on Phuket that could do a PM on a Buffalow ,in my big cattle area I cannot think of a vet that could a PM on a Buffalow. The owner is most certainly will be selling his semen to get some of his costs back.
  20. One rie is not a lot of land, but enough for your needs, and relatively easy to improve without a lot of investment, first thing to look at is the fertility of the soil. I do not know where you are ,but see if your local agriculture office can do fertility test on your soil, take them a sample see if they can check on soil mineral's and more impotent the soil organic matter, or if they cannot do it, ask your local agriculture collage to see if they can do it . Thai soil is almost renowned for not being over fertile monoculture of rice, sugar cane, cassava, takes it toil on the soil. Have a word with our soil Gure drtreelove he can give you some good advice. I would say put in some Sun hemp or Mung Beans, let them grow up. then plough them in as a green manure, it would do the soil a lot of good. Then I would find a local farmer, probably a sugar cane farmer and get him with his sub-soiler to sub-soil the land it would break up the pan underneath help drainage and give the soil a chance to breath.
  21. I do not know where you live, but this time last year corn crop were 2-foot-tall rains come early, when we grew corn, last time 8 years ago it was between now and end of May when we drilled corn, that is after a good week plus of rain beforehand. This year things are late, only thing growing is sugar cane and cassava only because it has been irrigated.
  22. The problem is crops are planted say end of May, you get a drought in June and July, like we have had before, corn crops will die, very rarely to much rain will flatten a crop, not like our corn crops at home, heavy rain down they go, a few rice crops may go down. Corn crop dies dairy farmers will cut the plants for they cow's, then the landowner will re-seed when the rains come again.
  23. The Jurey is out on that one, a bit after the last Coupe, remember the referendum to change the constitution, one of main clause was that the 250 Senat members to be appointed, and they will play a crucial role in choosing the PM. Much to the Suprise of the Thai people. and most outside the country it was excepted. Now it looks like it will come back and bite them in the backside.
  24. It will not work, it will be horse trading the whole time, in government's before Tucksin had a majority, where coalitions governments happened parties were leaving and joining the whole time, how much time was spent was spent basically arguing when they should have been governing the country. I see the election results are not yet a week old and the knifes are already out. He also said that the Move Forward party and its leader are ready to be examined by the Senate over what some may see as controversial issues, such as its policy to amend the lèse majesté law and Pita’s share ownership in the ITV broadcasting company.
  25. It would be nice, but I would suspect Erdogan will get in again, but with all the corruption talk about building regs after the devastating earthquake may be not. Like Pyayat has done a lot for the country ..........wait....look at Bangkok big extension of the BTS train system, in my area we now have more roads with tarmac on than in the past 10 yeas plus a lot of other areas the same. brought in the But- Khon- John, poor persons welfare card helped a good few people. Not popular with the younger voters but like Erdogan got they feet under the desk could well take some shifting.
