  1. Thinking we might go to that area over the Christmas period.

Want a nice hotel with room over looking the sea and a swimming pool not too far away from the room.

It has been many years since we stayed in that area.

Only golf course we know is Plutaluang.

So can any local recommend an hotel and/or a golf course. tks

  2. As I said elsewhere this months usage was 75kWhs and running fully on No Export.

Our meter was read on the 16th and up to now (21st) we have only imported 4.5kWhs

The last few nights have been quite cool and on two of them we didnt use air con. The battery has been close to lasting the night (DOD set at 25%)... last night was an exception as Mrs J decided to spend twenty minutes washing her hair in the shower running at the full 4kWs. Water is a little cool now if you dont use the heater.

From midnight until just now ...5pm the inverter software showed that we imported 0.96kWhs and actually exported 0.20kWhs. Not really surprised that the inverter software couldnt keep up with the load changes ... first my coffee at about 6:15am then several other high usages ...breakfast/car charging/two lots of cloths washing at 50DegC/ironing/watering garden ect etc.

The anti reflux cut in about 1:30 pm when the battery was full and demand had reduced.

Below a snip of the data

  3. We have just bought a Lazy Boy sofa and single chairs.. bit expensive but quite nice... About an 8-10 week queue at present so it seems if not in stock.

They do two qualities of leather

    Two places to view ..

SB Design square   and La-Z-Boy Flagship Gallery

  4. Not far off … GF 650.   CF 350 if you want a buggy an extra 500 ….

The owner has spent a lot of money since he bought it out of the bank maybe 4+ years ago now.

Worth a visit if you want to vary your day … the only drawback is that it doesn’t drain quickly so there could be a few damp patches if it has rained the night before …

Read your instructions / manual ... settings of car.

    Amazing what you can learn & control ????  Turned off a few;

Hello & Welcome audio announcements when starting

Don't know if it will still give a weather report.

Turned off BlueTooth, as I don't use the app, although it did tell the wife the window was open.  To bad it didn't before it started raining.  Only open a wee bit to let heat out, but still dampened things a bit.

I cycle through the dash display before driving, so I'll see any low tire warning on my way to the odometer & battery/kms/time meter display.

Turned off 'lane assist' (not stability), as that is an audio and steering wheel nudge when drifting out of or near the painted road marking for your lane.

Tried to turn off 'Towing mode' as it disables PDC when on, though can't figure out what that is, aside from a parking sensor as Ms Google tells me.

Still get proximity warning around the car.  So maybe that's a sensor for the other model.

Also turned off 'traffic jam assist' as that slows the car down a bit too much, and unexpected at times.  Not sure if car will auto stop now in cruise control.  Test that later.

AC has a high-med-low setting, though I changed to all, and didn't notice any.  So left it in High.  Tried 'Auto' and didn't car for it.  Also the default is 'flow thru' instead of 'recirculate' air, as I smelled smoke the other day before I even got pass driving through it.  Adjusted that to recirculate.  Already as Air Purifier with the AC.

More than a few more, but I just left on default, or turned off if I could, as don't use media, radio and such.  Which I turned the sound off.  Unlike the ICE, the radio does not auto turn on at start up.  But I muted it anyway.

PDC is normally what causes that bleep bleep bleep sound when reversing and approaching an object … turns to a continuous bleeeeeeep when you get even closer. And of course shows on your graphic amber or red.

Also will do same when eg a motorbike gets a bit close to you.

Seems doesn’t work when you are towing ….. as your trailer would not have PDC

Think it is safe to say, we are out of playing conservative with the solar system.

August with few excepts, around 12-15kW a day.

September saw that breaking 18-20kW a day

October was 20+ a day, increasing later on.

Now looks like we be around 30kW a day moving forward, and it's not even hot temps yet.

Last night & this morning was damn chilly, 21°C / 69.8°F, yea, that's embarrassing.

    At 30kW a day X 30 days = 900 a month = ฿5000 (PEA bill)

ROI, without additional use, about 7.5 yrs ????

Out of interest what was your actual maximiun generated kW reading ie highest instantaneous reading of kWs. Just wanted to know your relationship between max gen kWs and installed kWs.

  7. We have a PHEV ... but the battery is only 6.2kWh. I ran a new 2.5mm twin and earth cable from a 20A breaker to a new wall socket adjacent to when we park the car. It charges at about 9A. The car has a 6A charge setting, but it won't set at that. Actually is at the dealers now to find out why. Seems that the software will not select that setting ... dealer is asking the tech dept why, also looking to see if its the same on other 2019year cars ... will let us know result tomorrow.

6A would, at times when the sun is not so strong be an advantage.

  8. I sometimes use 'Find My Mobile' if I want to see where Mrs J is. I dont like phoning when she is driving as she quite often forgets to connect her phone to the car.

I just log in with her google details and it shows me where she is.

Think I google 'Find my Samsung Phone' or something close to that. Recently I see that she has got a lot better and connects her phone before she drives off. Amazing ... its only taken her a few years for the advantage of doing that to sink in .... She tends to put her handbag on the floor behind her seat ... phone inside!

Yeah I'm just sick of the vinyl floorboards you can't mop properly as too much water and they start to bend

Have you considered a spray mop. You only use a small amount of water ...Lazada have them. but I can't see the one we have on there now.

Best to get one with a swivel head as you can go in and around chair legs etc. Don't buy a really cheap one

    Just found it …

Just brought in $40k and looking for my best options. Will check out SCB's Easy Account but my question is what is the next alternative after not using a bank? Say a safe money market account from a broker?

I realize I'm off topic here but maybe you can point me to a different post/thread.

How you thought about bonds. There are quite a few companies wanting to run on Bonds. They just keep churning them over. BBB+ reasonably safe.

My wife has just done a couple ...one for 1yr and 2m and other I think is for 3years. 4.25%/4.5%  something like that. She gets offers from CIMB as we both have accounts there.

Bangkok Bank have a couple on offer at present  2Yr 3.65%  3.5Y 4%....BBB+

    Re: Cleaning

We now have 6 panels in operation, and I have to clean them almost every single day. Why?

Because feathered friends (NOT my friends any more ???? ) like to sit on the edges and then use it as a Toilet ????

Fortunately the panels are "ground mounted" and thus cleaning is easy, just using lots of water and then a Chamois Leather Cloth to wipe them down.

Good idea to dry off as will help reduce deposits from the water. Maybe not the best idea to use a Chamois though. Microifiber towel would be somewhat better.

I guess 90% of the people who are using ON-Grid inverters are Feeding back into the Grid and thus spinning their PEA meter backwards.

One member forgot to turn off his Export and the Meter Guy showed up to read the meter and saw the meter spinning backwards and the only consequence for the member was that PEA replaced his meter to a NON Back spinning Meter.

I have a GTI that is connected to the grid and it's spinning back my meter, and I did the test which @Crossy described in his previous post and the GTI stopped "producing" and showing 0 V from the Grid, in which it normally shows what the grid is delivering.

Note, what I am doing is only to cover our DAY-Time use, but some days the GTI produces so much (and we are not using a lot of energy during the day) that I am using approx 1 Unit only from the PEA from 17:30-6:30am (<- time when the GTI isn't producing)

Edit: 2 tips when starting with GTI's

1- Don't let the Meter reader see that the Meter is spinning backwards

2- VERY important as well, don't go into negative territory, what I mean by that, suppose this month the bill says under "Current reading" 8505 units (example), don't let it go under that reading the following month. I am aiming (read told to by SWMBO) that we must use approx 130-140 units per month from PEA , which means at a certain point in time in the month I have to turn the GTI off.

If you were to be given a ‘no export’ meter…how many units (kwh’s) do you think you would have to pay for in one month?
