1. You can easily obtain a police background check from both the Thai police and from your home country.
2.
As this is my first ever health checkup and being over 70 years of age I’m starting to become a bit paranoid and anxious , thinking that the all test results may be all bad news , and its all downhill from there on
If it were all bad news, I doubt that you would have reached the good age of 70+ without ever having a health check-up!
3.
I am in my 60's and I believe that if anyone doesn't understand what the poster meant when he said he is out, is, well, way behind the times, I understood what he was saying as clear as daylight.
Although to be fair, there are some important differences between 'real' English (that means from Ol' Blighty), and American, which could lead to misunderstandings. Yonks ago (30 years or so), I visited New York and after ordering a pizza in a restaurant, the waitress asked me if it was 'to go'. 'Go where?' I asked (the phrase 'to go' was not in common usage at that time in the UK).
4. Poppycock! I used nearly all those words today in 7/11...... (I was gently removed by the security staff shortly afterwards!).
5.
What is he, a career student?
Obviously not, because the report states that he was reported for not attending his classes...
6. I use Payoneer regularly to receive payments, which are automatically added to my Payoneer debit card (that I can use in ATM machines). Or I can top up my Wise account using that card. Once your Payoneer account is set up, everything seems to go smoothly, BUT their customer service definitely sucks..
7.
Translate the word 'pajero' from Spanish and you'll get a truer meaning of what to call her.
When I translate that word from Spanish to English using Google Translate, the translated word is 'pajero' !!
8. Good to see that they mask it's face so we can't recognise it!
9. What subject did you study when you had your study visas? You could be tested on this by immigration.
10. Thank heavens! I will feel much safer when I sleep tonight...
11. Well, that is a joke comment of course! My pension will fall due when I'm 66, and for one, I'm happy at the raging inflation in the UK, because the triple lock means that my pension will be about 15% higher than what is paid out today. Of course, it will be frozen, but 30,000 baht or so a month is plenty enough for me!
12. I live on Koh Phangan - temporarily banished from living/working in Myanmar for medical and political reasons. In the morning I jog a couple of km to the 7/11 and back, then teach English and Thai to about 40 Burmese kids in the local community. I'm a techie person, so enjoy my ham radio hobby and building antennas to receive weather satellite and ISS pictures etc. Swim on the sea every afternoon, teach science online, just waiting for my UK state pension to start in about 30 months from now. Then I will have more freedom to travel, teach, do more hobbies etc.
13. The concept of an education visa is that you actually attend lessons ????. That could be in Thai language, Chinese or even Muay Thai. If you obtain such a visa, and don't attend your lessons as per the required schedule, then don't be surprised if immigration makes a surprise visit....
14. Yonks ago in Leicester I saw 2 Indian gentlemen carrying a sofa on 2 bicycles, one cycling behind the other!!
15. I already did my research ????. RSO uses isopropyl, whereas FECO uses ethanol. Based on the research data and my own scientific knowledge (I teach Chemistry up to university level) of the molecular structure etc of both alcohols, I prefer to use grain alcohol to make FECO. Right now, I have no 'bouncing' to do because I'm fit and healthy, just need to get this prostate taken out. Thereafter I want to take FECO on a regular basis to help to keep any future cancer cells at bay.
16. Better still, live a simple life without consumer goods and 'bling'. If robbers entered my home they would probably leave me some cash!
17. I've been diagnosed with prostate cancer. It is hopefully is contained in my prostate, and that organ is coming out pretty soon! (I have BPH for many years which makes it difficult to pee, so taking out my prostate is a good option - hey maybe even have the full sex-change!). I'm currently very fit and healthy. I'm a scientist and have been investigating natural 'supplements' that could help to keep any cancer cells at bay in the future, if they have spread outside my prostate. For example, eating red hot chilli peppers sounds like a masochistic procedure, but tests in mice prove that the capsaicin chemical in hot chillis slows/kills cancer cells. (I'm eating a few red chillis every day). My research also shows that FECO has proven effects on killing/reducing cancer cells. It seems pretty easy to prepare my own FECO capsules, (for sticking up my bum..). It can certainly do no harm if I combine natural supplements with scientific medical treatment and screening. To prepare FECO, I need grain alcohol (Lazada) and cannabis flowers. Am I right that selling cannabis flowers is illegal? I prefer to prepare my own FECO because I then know that it is 'the real thing'. It sounds like my best option is to grow my own cannabis plants out here on Koh Phangan, (where most people seem to be as high as a kite anyway...). My house is set right in a natural, jungle setting - no problems to grow cannabis plants. To emphasise - I'm not interested in getting high from smoking the leaves or whatever - I just want to have a fresh source of potent (CBD and THC mix) flowers to prepare my own FECO. That said, what seeds do you suggest I buy? And is there a simple guide online to growing these? Thanks!
18.
Since WrLife recently notified me that my annual premium is now adjusted for a claim this past year, I will assume they were the ones who ultimately handled and paid for the claim.
Adjusted down or up?? ????. Something to be aware of when you choose medical insurance. Many companies who are not regulated by UK/EU rules will increase your premium if you make a claim, which could see you being priced out in later years if you claim again.
19. I guess he's the one on the left in the photos - why isn't he smiling?
20. Why have you obscured her email address? I wanted to contact her! ????
21. Don't tell me that (according to your forum name), you are actually a teacher?
22. My 18 year old Thai niece died in my arms some 5 months ago from HIV/TB. She weighed just 21 Kg when she passed away. The reasons for her death was ignorance and shame. - She and her family had no idea that treatment was available for free under the 30 baht scheme - She was too ashamed to tell anyone about her HIV status until the illness (mostly TB infection which is common amongst HIV positive people) was too advanced for recovery. - She was not a sex-worker, just a normal young woman who was unlucky enough to be infected with the HIV virus. There is a stigma in Thailand (and other Asian countries) about being HIV positive, which IMHO hinders prompt treatment. My Thai cook (35 years old) also died of untreated HIV/AIDs, stigma and shame again.
