Actually Frances there are more of us here on TV than it may seem. Many female TV members hide their gender due to the aggressive negative behavior of some of the male members. Unfortunately, highly prolific ones.

And this forum, which is intended to be a place where western women living in Thailand can connect, suffers from a chronic problem of being overrun with male posts. Some discussion is underway among the Mods as to how to handle this., Any suggestion you are other FEMALE members may have in that regard, would be welcome.

Not to mention some of them carry some baggage since they most likely assume the female poster would be a western female poster and try to argue along the lines of you aren't hot sh!t here in thailand but i am you see how thai ladies are flinging themselves at me and thai ladies are superior to you.

The basic answer to the OP's thread is that thailand is coming up as a country. I suggest you relocate to an african country. Wasn't there a country zimbabewe that had almost a few billlions just to buy an egg once? Sure you can be a trillionaire over there but i heard they somehow closed down that currency and such places are dangerous as hell. Africans will just rob you blind.

I don't know maybe go to cambodia or laos or burma. Burma should be the most repressed country in the region. Once it kicks off well then that's it. Try papua new guinea but it's hard to find places like thailand where the ppl are poor and you can stretch your dollar and be safe. Places like papua you can stretch your currency but crime rate and violence is so high.

Years ago I recall being served by a young girl (teens/20's) in a convenience store on a remote island in the Gulf of Thailand.

She had been beaten black and blue & in clear need of medical assistance.

On asking around I established that she had been gang raped by up to a dozen of the undocumented types to be found in such places.

The police hadn't done anything, she hadn't received any medical attention & had gone back to work the following morning while some of the alleged perpetrators were seen laughing & gloating outside.

My understanding of the above was that it was some sort of retribution or punishment.

Thanks for the input guys but here's the thing i am confused about. I mean aren't the countries in the EU all a collective? So suffice to say a sim card from one country in the EU should have the same charges as the home country when it's used in another country in the EU? Am i wrong here? So what it means is that even though countries in the EU all more or less have the same currency but when it comes to cell phone sim cards you still need to buy a sim from that country to avoid roaming charges?

So let's get this straight. I can use the same currency the euro when i visit spain or germany but if i need to make a phone call without expensive charges i would need to buy a different sim card when i visit spain and germany?
