Hand gel is not like KY. There is a difference, but you might not notice it.....until after a few minutes.

Is Thailand really getting more expensive?
Grusa replied to BritManToo's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
We used to buy Aussie minced beef at BigC Extra in Pattaya, at 450 baht/kg. Recently a company has taken over the butchery franchise, and the same mince is now 650/kg. All their other cuts of beef have gone up in proportion. It used to be a busy counter with a staff of 6 or so. Now there are two, and hardly any customers. They have started bogof offers, the resultant prices are still high, and the quality has gone down. For a while we tried other branches, but now the same franchise has taken over, and they are now penetrating Tops! Other supermarkets are offering low-fat mince at seemingly reasonable prices, but do you really want fluorescent orange mince, which dyes the cooking oil?....or tasteless carpetburgers? So far only Villa comes up to scratch. -
Ok, the guy did what he did, and will no doubt suffer consequences. What I do not understand is; why did he call his embassy to tell them he would turn himself in? If he was gaily swanning around the country how did he get to know the police were on bis trail? His phone was apparently offline, and there are no "wanted" posters on the streets.

Thailand's Hanging Wires: Motorcyclist injured just after posters complained
Grusa replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Stripped copper wires are worth something. Stripped aluminium, not so much, and stripped fibre optics , zilch. The fibre optic cables have a piano wire load bearer, worthless as scrap, and glass/plastic signal carriers which are useless and not recycleable, so far as I know. -
Screws found in 2 of my tyres. Should I replace all 4?
Grusa replied to davidst01's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
All that matters is the depth of tread, and undamaged side walls. If the wear indicators in the tread are showing, change them. Otherwise not necessary. -
2 Soldiers Killed in Helicopter Crash in Nakhon Sawan
Grusa replied to snoop1130's topic in Central Thailand
OK. What use are they? The training is obviously not fit for purpose. The equipment they will eventually fly, if they live so long, is not fit for purpose. The organisation they might fly for is not fit for purpose. The organisation that governs that organisation is not fit for purpose. The person at the top of that particular tree is ...... nffp. -

Very pretty, but what use is it? -
HOMA Phuket Town introduces new co-living concept to APAC

I tried to open this with DuckDuck Go - refused to open. With Brave beta, it opened. I am finding DDG ad blocking much stricter than Brave, -
I find it odd that the two wheels remain bolted together, with all the wheelnuts present and showing. The hub and if present, brake drum, must have separated from the axle. One would think the handling of the truck might be affected slightly? Then again, one of the tyres was obviously about to shed what little tread remained, would that have been noticed?

THE WEEK THAT WAS Covid: I can’t help thinking we’re being taken for fools
Grusa replied to rooster59's topic in Thailand News
It has occured to me that the chance of dying, road incident vs. covid, is only a small part of the equation. What about the chances of severe life style impairment as a result of survival, road incident vs. covid? Not everyone dies as a result of RTAs, most walk away unscathed, many are permanently disabled or disfigured....but we get no statistics! I suspect the latter group exceeds the deaths. Covid, on the other hand, now that many of the elderly and morbidly unhealthy have snuffed it, appears to be mostly death or complete recovery, with only a relatively small number of lingering "long covid" sequelae. So, which is statistically more significant? Lives devastated by RTA, or by covid. Include in the figure family members seriously impacted by the effect upon the victim. My opinion, for what little it is worth:- In the end we will all catch covid, and either survive it or die. I am double vaxxed, only because I need the bit of paper to travel. All else is fate, but there are fortunes to made on the back of the virus......and guess who are the usual suspects! -
I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. In case SWMBO finds out.

SCB Jomtien Beach Road. Rarely too busy, and reasonably efficient. Handy for immi.

Five admin arrested in online gambling raid in Bangkok

Or failed to prepare the brown envelopes, fat enough or in time. -
Op, when you say "TV" do you mean "ThaiVisa" or "TeleVision"? If the former, it is now called "AN" for Asean Now", a retrograde step for information but a positive one for comprehension! As to the potential for cognitive dysfunction, both are probably equally guilty. Especially if you use them indiscriminately. "May have disturbing content. Viewer discretion is advised".

Thai/German agreement as Thailand aims to become hub of railways in ASEAN
Grusa replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Last time Thailand was a hub of railway development, it did not end well. Admittedly, the Japanese were running the show. RIP. -
Cafe des Amis, Au Bon Coin, Marco's, in order of size but not necessarily quality, all are good.
