  1. Am I alone in noticing that the general standard of driving has taken a steep plunge recently. It's worse than dodgems!
  2. Not everyone goes to Bumrungrad. Have you seen the operating theatre in a public hospital in Laos? I have, the windows were open on to the street!
  3. Medical staff wear surgical masks to protect the patient from the wearer, not the other way round. The victim on the table with his insides hanging out is unlikely to spread airborne vectors. The gang of robed medical staff breathing all over him, is.
  4. It's the 1% of mineral salts in solution that cause the problems - corrosion and in the case of batteries, contamination.
  5. Toyota premixed coolant is available in gallon containers from Toyota dealers, AutoBoy, some filling station forecourts, and on Lazada. https://s.lazada.co.th/s.4WAi0 Don't use the fluorescent green stuff from the supermarkets! and don't use mineral water. RO water is ok for occasional topping up only, distilled (battery) water is better.
  6. They're quite good at executions too..... especially extra-legal ones.
  7. But did you manage the millionaire bit? And if so, what currency?
  8. What's an acocunt? Is it different from the normal kind? (I'm Sorry!)
  9. Not to the extent that it is here. "Boss" for example?
  10. It's about one lawyer saying the other was going to use the tape to blackmail. If not true, Whether true or not, in Thailand he has every right to sue for defamation, as this is a fairly serious allegation, especially for a lawyer. If it was me being Thai and accused and/or relatively (sufficiently?) wealthy, whether or not I was innocent, I would absolutely be suing for defamation. As I said before: "who pays, wins" Apologies for the convoluted editing!
  11. My understanding ism the law here IS different. A statement is defamatory if it causes the plaintiff a loss of face. Whether or not the statement is true is totally irrelevant. As in all cases here, who pays, wins.
  12. My personal observation is, the Thai do not really like coffee. They like the idea of coffee, and the culture (?) of coffee drinking, the kudos of buying bad coffee from a mega-expensive franchise, or sitting in a "designer" coffee shop. No Thai I have ever asked if they would like a cup of coffee, has ever accepted. They would rather drink water. The disgusting looking concoction they go for, with ice, condensed milk and brown liquid which might have essence of the real thing somewhere in its history, is NOT coffee! And, it takes so long to make the real coffees drinkers could die waiting for it! I won't even mention Birdy.
  13. I admit to finding it hard to believe.......that's why I asked for a reference! Everything Mr Google comes up with, tells me they don't like electricity. There are even electric mats to repel them.
  14. You show your utter ignorance of the subject. "N" numbers are for US registered aeroplanes, mine is Thai registered and so "HS". Whilst N reg planes can and do fly here for a limited time, they do so with severe restrictions for a maximum of six months. Looking up my registration, which is clearly visible on the underside of the port wing, and if you can find a Thai registry listing - which is no easy task! - will tell you it is registered to a Thai company....because foreigners cannot own a Thai registered aeroplane. Much like land. I could say much more, and refer to online photos and videos, etc., but not without destroying what little anonymity I retain on this group! Apology accepted, provisionally.
  15. Why do you not believe me? I have owned it for nearly ten years, flown it all round Thailand - literally - and there are plenty of photos on the net to prove it. The registration is my wifes' name!
  16. Here it is, minus all the icons etc. It's mine, with me flying it!
  17. Could it be that Stamford Raffles had the right idea, all those years ago? Colonise the bloody place. (no I don't mean colonoscopy, that's different, but mind you they might keep their grey cell up there, it sure isn't in their brain case.)
  18. even allowing for pixelation, he looks 67+ not 27!
  19. I can honestly say I have never seen a rampant oximeter (my spellcheck wants "odometer"). Do they breed in captivity?
  20. Tadpoles. Did you Photoshop the white "eyes", they look much too perfect!
