  1. ^ Gotze has apparently sacked his agent and is quoted in German press as wanting to remain with BM....not good news for LFC or BVB!sad.png

Yeah, sacked his agent and is advising with family.

I would like to see or hear that quote. I really do not trust media and their reports. Sometimes I hear a press conference or something from the player and the media interprets something else into it.

For all I know, Goetze may have said something along these lines: "I still have another year contract with BM and want to fulfil it".

Nothing more and nothing less. But I can see the press twisting those words around to make it sound like he wants to stay at Bayern.

    I hope he doesn't stay...what a waste of talent.

  2. Didnt quite understand that sentence....I'm assuming: Big players we need to replace?

Actually, if only those two are gone, we only need to get a decent defender. We have two good central defenders ( Hummels position ) with Sokratis and Subotic.

And for Gundogans position we already have more than enough to fill that position ( Weigl, Sahin, Bender, Castro ). We also bought a young french talent ( Dembele ) who plays midfield.

We need a good defender for the bench when / if Subotic or Sokratis are injured. We also have players that could fill that position in our squad ( Ginter and Durm ).

Talks about Goetze coming back is also still in talks. If nobody else leaves, we just need to buy a defender ( or maybe there is a talent in our youth department? ) and we're ready for next season.

  3. Sounds like Ilkay Gündogan will be going to Man City. Reports say it is basically a done deal despite the injury and should officially be announced anytime. For ONLY 25 million Euro. Man City definitely got a deal there. I am shocked he will be leaving for only 25mio. I am hoping they got the currencies mixed up and meant 25mio Pounds. I would put his value similar to Ozil marketvalue.

think gundogan has only 12 months left on his contract at dortmund doesn't he? that's why he's so cheap.

Well yes, only 1 year. However, Hummels had 1 year left and moved to Bayern for 35 million. So I actually expected something in that range as well. I am assuming that it may have to do with his injury and some behind the scenes things that we aren't aware of. Lots of pressure on Gündogan to transfer now or sign a long term contract with Dortmund...his transfer last year failed so he extended for another year expecting to leave now.

  5. Trust me, you will love this coffee!

    Very bold statement.

I'll bet you anything you will have people say this is the worst coffee they ever had and others may agree with you. Because you love it so much, does not mean everybody else ( especially coffee connoisseurs ) will like love it just as much. Not saying it isn't a great coffee or bad...I haven't tried it myself.

Also, I strongly disagree 99% of coffee in Thailand being crap. IF you are referring to instant coffee, MAYBE you are correct...I don't know, I never tried it before here. If you are talking about actual coffee beans to make coffee, you probably haven't tried too many varieties. Lots of good beans come from northern Thailand.

  6. My lineup is based on assuming everybody is 100% fit. If schweinsteiger is fit for the Euros, him and Khedira will be the first line of defense and those two together are pretty good.

Podolski is obviously not the player he once was, but he is an asset to the team. I think ( don't know for sure since I am not part of the team ) he is good for the team morale / spirit. Overall I trust Löws decision. He has been pretty good the past few years tongue.png. Also, how many players do you REALLY need for the tournament? 16? 17?

    Edit:

As for striker, yes, Thomas Mueller can do it, so can Mario Goetze. We don't have a real striker, but enough players that can fill that position.

no real strikers, but somehow still managed to put SEVEN behind Brazil....

At that time we still had Klose ;)

  7. Next week I'll be in Bangkok for a few days, so I'll have a looks round there if I have a chance. If that's a no go, I'll probably order from the official store.

I was just hoping for an easy and convenient way to get the jersey :)

  8. Not sure where else to post this...

I would like to the new Borussia Dortmund Jersey. I have been reading that Dortmund Jerseys will become more available throughout thailand. However, I am not counting on seeing any here in Ubon Ratchathani. Is there an online store where I can buy an Authentic BVB Jersey within Thailand ( I now, it sounds like an oxymoron :) )

  9. ^I liked the lufthansa advert, I hope it's a series of adverts.

Yeah, or if British Airways come up with their own version. But I like the kid in that advert...when I have a kid, I can only hope he turns out like that :)

  11. Well, I am looking forward to the Euro as well. Today Löw announced his 27 man lineup. In 2 weeks he will have to send 4 players home to get the official 23 player squad.

I also went ahead and highlighted who I assume will be our starting line up.

Goal: Manuel Neuer (FC Bayern), Marc-André ter Stegen (FC Barcelona), Bernd Leno (Bayer Leverkusen)

Defense: Jerome Boateng (FC Bayern), Jonas Hector (1. FC Köln), Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund), Benedikt Höwedes (Schalke 04), Shkodran Mustafi (FC Valencia), Emre Can (FC Liverpool), Sebastian Rudy (1899 Hoffenheim), Antonio Rüdiger (AS Rom)

Midfield / Attack: Sami Khedira (Juventus Turin), Toni Kroos (Real Madrid), Mesut Özil (FC Arsenal), Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund), Julian Draxler (VfL Wolfsburg), Lukas Podolski (Galatasaray Istanbul), Thomas Müller (FC Bayern), Karim Bellarabi (Bayer Leverkusen), Bastian Schweinsteiger (Manchester United), Joshua Kimmich (FC Bayern), Julian Brandt (Bayer Leverkusen), Julian Weigl (Borussia Dortmund), Mario Gomez (Besiktas Istanbul), Mario Götze (FC Bayern), Leroy Sané (Schalke 04), André Schürrle (VfL Wolfsburg)

Note how we don't have a real striker...except maybe Gomez, but I was never a fan of him. The only thing I am slightly worried about is our defense. Since Lahm retired from the national team, we are still looking for somebody to fill that spot half as good as he did.

  12. So what do you think of gündogan as a player? Would we be buying quality or not? What could we expect from him positionwise?

He's fantastic. Also another loss for us ( but we have a GREAT talent coming from our youth department...keep eye out for "Weigl" and "Pulisic" ). Gündogan has a great overview of the pitch and can pass the ball. I would probably even rate him better than Özil.

He has one major downside: Injury prone. He is injured fairly often. Keep him off the injury list and he is a starting player for ANY team in the world.

We ( Klopp ) bought him for 6mio Euro from Nürnberg a few years ago. Let's see how much we get for him now....I'm hoping 35-40mio.

  13. Well, it's confirmed. Hummels transfers to Bayern Munich for 35 million Euro.

While I am happy about getting 35 million for him, I am sad to see him go and even sadder that he is moving to our big rival. In secret I was hoping for a Goetze / Hummels switch, but that didn't happen. But I still didn't give up on possibly getting goetze. He will most likely leave Munich at the end of the season...but where?!

  14. Out for 12 months? I doubt it. I just read on gündogans Facebook page and here "his" statement:

    Hi guys,

thank you for your get well soon messages! I'm very sad about not being able to take part in the German cup final and the UEFA EURO 2016 in France either. [emoji53] But to feel sorry for oneself has never been the best solution. After the first shock about the diagnosis it only helps to look forward in a positive way to get fit as soon as possible again. [emoji120][emoji109][emoji109] As in most injury cases you can't exactly tell when you will return - but I will definitely keep you updated about my rehab progress! [emoji111][emoji460]

So, doesn't sound like 12 months to me. More like, after the euros he'll have a better idea when he will return.

Hopefully the purchase goes through for a nice sum.

He does get injured fairly often.

  15. I like the idea and effort, however, I don't see this app going anywhere for the following reasons ( please keep in mind that I do not want to discourage you or talk down on your idea. I'm just giving my input on the "Contra" side ).

    1. It will be abused. How many parents let their kids use their phones and kids pushing buttons randomly. I also think when people are drunk will abuse the app.

    2. In an emergency situation ie the Hua Hin attack...would they have time or even think about the app in the heat of the moment? I sure didn't see them pull out the phone to call for help. And the ones that pulled out their phones did it to record the "event" ( which just brings me to an idea...I'll mention it further down )

    3. I would not make the app for expats and tourist, but for the english speaking community ( maybe make a few more common languages available ). It should also target / allow Thais that speak english. You wouldn't want to create a foreigners vs thais atmosphere.

These are the few things that i see why the app wouldn't work as intended.

An idea that I just had: how about an app that when opened, automatically starts recording ( voice or camera...user can choose in settings ), runs in the background and sends a gps signal to a pre entered E-Mail / phone number.

But again, in emergency who thinks of opening up an app?

I like critique but I love creative critique more.

    Thanks for your input.

    1. I too think the app would be abused, maybe by kids and drunks, but also by mistakenly pressing a button, that's what people do sometimes, mistakes.

The app I have in mind would trigger on different things, one thing I'm investigating is rapid movement of the phone and higher than usual G-force combined, like a person falling over, hitting the ground or bathtub or ???.

But also what 'whatproblem' mentioned. A one touch thing, or press the power button three times i rapid sequence. Still trying to figure out key requirements for the app.

    2. Maybe not the family themselves, but perhaps a bystander would?

    3. It was really sloppy of me to mention expats and tourists as a segregated unity. If this app would be of any use for anyone, Thai people would have even more use for it, or Lao girls, or wives of abusing husbands, or just an alarm raiser for people to gather regardless of the occasion, like music festivals when people wait for a specific band but in the meantime attends another scene and all of a sudden the bands shows up too early. I'm just spit balling here now. I can foresee numerous of uses.

The app might not stop an immediate attack, but what I'm thinking, it might stop an attack progressing from bad into worse.

Maybe even the option to have an audio alarm, like a police whistle tone or why not a siren could be an option.

It would be very easy to get the app work with video, audio, gps (if being outdoors), everything preset from settings when an alarm is triggered.

If I decide to go through with the app, it would be in English only at first.

There would be a server that people has to login to with their username (phone number and an alias name) and password so as soon as the app alarm is activated, the information would be sent directly to that server for later retrieval and also to roam the alarm to people on a list or/and location, haven't figured out yet what popularity this app would have for it to be effective enough, of course there has to be at least 4 or more people on that list, but also again what 'whatproblem' mentioned, the app could also very well suited to elderly people to raise an alarm if they get attacked or abused, have a bad fall or get sick acutely.

You have some good points and something to work with.

It seems like you really know programming ( g-force / movement etc. ). That may have opened a new can of worms :). I do not know what is possible or to what extend, so I will through some ideas out. Also, I am an iPhone / iOS user ( not jail broken ), so I am not sure if my idea(s) will also work for android.

When you mentioned g-force and testing things out and / or certain button combinations.

Idea: if the phone drops or is exposed to a lot of unusual pressure, is it possible to maybe have Siri start up and ask a simple question i.e.: do you need help? Do you want me to open your application "name of your emergency app"?

How about activating the app when the silent button is switched on and off two times within 2 seconds or so? Problem with that would be if somebody has a bully case like a battery case.

Or activating the app pushing the sleep/wake button 2-3 times within 2 seconds?

I do have some idea for the actual app, however I think the first and very important step is to find a convenient and easy way to activate / access the app.

  17. I don't think Leicester missed their chance...they just wanted to celebrate on home turf with their fans :)

Bayern bah.gif Munich on the other hand missed their chance to secure the Bundesliga title ( tied at home ).

    And now to this:

It has been quite some years since I saw the last Premier League game. I saw great teamwork and morale by Leicester and a very weak Man U (apart of the first 15 minutes). Leicester has no stars and will become champion, Man U etc. have some international stars but are really weak. It was totally boring, the only player which I felt was showing something was the Algerien/French Mahrez. This is one of the best leagues of the world? What a joke! No wonder English teams have no chance whatsoever to win anything in Europe. Definitely the last time for another few years I am wasting my time to look at such dreadful football. Will stick to La Liga which is by lightyears better than what is being shown in England.

Sad that you determine an entire league is bad by watching only one game. And to top it off, watch a league that is probably even more boring. The title is usually decided by only two teams ( where as atletico seem to be more regularly joining the title race now...which I think will be just temporary ). Then it will be back to business as usual: Who will win la Liga this year? Barca or Madrid. If they play in the league, the question is how high will they win. THAT my friend, is boring.

  18. PPTV clinched a deal with German football club Borussia Dortmund last month to become its official broadcaster in Thailand for a new reality show. The company further got the rights from the club to broadcast official highlights of 42 Dortmund matches a year.

I meant to reply to this thread earlier, but forgot.

I was very excited to read the news ( google: pptv borussia dortmund ), that will give you an article to the Bangkok Post. They also have a deal with Bayern bah.gif Munich. And from doing some research they have the Bundesliga rights together with Fox Sports for this season and next 2016/17. Now I just gotta research how to get PPTV.

    Edit:

Wohoooo, I already have PPTV!!! Channel 36 :)

  19. White Christmas13,

I enjoy reading the jokes you post, however, I noticed you fairly often repost jokes that have just recently been posted...just like your two jokes above this post...they have both been posted on the previous page. While it may seem like a minor "issue" to just not read this, it does take a couple of sentences until you realize you know the joke. This makes the joy of reading the jokes section more and more frustrating.

Are you maybe signed up to receive some sort of daily joke, which maybe others are signed up to and post the joke here before you do?

Again, I ( and probably the others too ) enjoy reading your jokes...just not the recently repeated ones. So please don't take it the wrong way.
