  1. Why hasn't anyone suggested the usual response of just staying at a hotel for a night and then getting the hotel to register your address and print a screenshot before going to immigration? Seems like the easiest & best solution.
  2. Why would they deny people with volunteer visas? How much are volunteer visas and how long does it allow you to stay in the country? I haven't really seen much discussions on this forum about using one to stay here in Thailand.
  3. What about for a Laos citizen who needs to get a work permit (via a Thai citizen) to run a business for themselves so they don't get in trouble with the police? I was told by a Laos girl she needs to pay 25k baht per year to get a work permit and every 3 months needs to go to immigration. Does this sound correct?
  4. How much do Laos citizens who work here pay to have a work permit and how often do they have to go to immigration to renew them & what's the cost of this at immigration?
  5. Thanks. They are only in BKK by the looks of it, or do they also service the Pattaya area?
  6. Anyone have any agent recommendations for getting a Thai driving licence? I was going to do it myself, but if it's going to take at least a few weeks to a month or more to get it, I may look at an agent if they can get it done immediately to a few days time. I have my English driving licence, IDP, residence certificate, medical report & all the required photocopies.
  7. Everything is in Thai on that site and when I get the page translated, it doesn't look like there's an application form for the license. I came across this on another site. Does this look correct for Pattaya? If so, I'll just print this form: https://chiangmaibuddy.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Application_For_Driving_License_Blank.pdf
  8. Of course! Why should retirees miss out on all the fun ????
  9. Because that's what I've read everywhere and even been told on this forum. Why would there not be an application form to fill in?
  10. Does anyone know where to download the correct latest Thai Driving Licence form so I can print it and fill it in before going to the and Land Transport office?
  11. Oh wow. If you go there later in the morning, do they turn you away?
  12. Ok thanks. I'm guessing you'd need to be there at 8:30am on the dot when they open. Is it true they only process 20 foreigners for licences per day as per this? https://pcec.club/BanglamungDLT And that appointments can be from a few days to a few weeks in the future?
  13. Is it possible to get a Thai Drivers Licence (Motorbike) in Pattaya on Visa Exempt and a 30 day extension of it?
  14. Are you sure about this? I remember people saying on this forum that visa exempt is fine to get a Thai driver's licence in Pattaya. I think as far as you had 30 days until expiry of your extension of stay. Can anyone else confirm if this is the case? Do you also need an appointment at the motor registry or can you just rock up and get it. Of course with the appropriate documents.
  15. I never had to do that pre-COVID with a METV tourist visa. Is this rule only for visa exempt entries?
  16. Jomtien immigration is asking to report same address again when wanting to do a 30 day extension of visa exempt. Is this a new thing? pre-COVID you didn't have to report the same address each time you flew back in.
  17. Anyone know how is Penang for a single entry tourist visa?
  18. Apparently I need to get a Medical Certificate to apply for a 2 year initial Motorbike Licence. Anyone here have any recommended cheap places around Buakhao area where to get one?
  19. Need to get one so I can apply for a Thai motorbike licence. I'm currently on a visa exempt entry. What are the current requirements? Is there a certain amount of days you have to have still in your visa exempt period before they will issue it, or it doesn't matter? I will also be doing a 30 day extension of stay at the same time. I believe the requirements are: 1. Completed Application Form 2. Two Photographs for each application - Passport Size - approximately 4x5 cm or 1 5/8 x 2 inches (One photo will be retained with the application and the other will be affixed to the Residence Certificate) 3. Original Passport 4. Photocopies of pages in your passport - Identity Page, Visa Exempt entry stamp. 5. Original rental contract 6. A fee of 300 baht
  20. What does that actually mean when it happens? PP issues a visa in your passport and put a void stamp on it so you can't use it at all? Why even issue the visa then? Is it to make it look bad in your passport for if you want to try again at another embassy/consulate or when you return back to Thailand?
