A couple of weeks ago I flew to Udon Thani, spent a night then did a couple of days in Laos before coming back to Thailand. Based on a few websites online it said if you get an Laos E-Visa (it cost me over US$50) then you can take the International Bus from Udon Thani bus station. But this isn't the case. It isn't available for foreigners, only Thai and Laos people who don't need visas. On the window it says if you don't have a visa, you can't use the bus. It also says No E-Visas. The man at the window said this too. The only option is to take a van from Central to Nong Khai border for 55 baht. Then you go stamp out of Thailand. Then take the old bus for 35 baht to the Laos border. At the Laos border the people handing out the arrival forms will only hand out the arrival forms, but there's another form hidden that they won't give you to apply for a Visa on Arrival. They want you to pay them 100 baht to fill in both forms for you. Even if you have an E-Visa, you need to get this special hidden visa form filled in by them and pay 100 baht. Then you go to the Visa on Arrival window and give your passport, E-Visa printout, and both the arrival card and Visa on Arrival form you paid 100 baht to get filled in for you. My question is, has everyone here who crossed into Laos had to pay this 100 baht fee? Laos passport holders only pay 10,000 kip (20 baht) if they wish to have an arrival form filled in for them. Also, what's the point of having an E-Visa (which costs you US$10 extra) if you still need to fill in a Visa on Arrival form and wait for them to put a small entry permit in your passport? Coming back from Vientiane was a lot easier. You can take the international bus from Vientiane to Udon Thani. Just one thing, exiting Laos the immigration asks for 20 baht to selected individuals when stamping them out. What is this 20 baht fee for? Seems like nobody else was being charged this fee, if they looked like they were Lao or Thai. All in all, doing a visa bounce to Laos seems to be quite expensive and a big hassle.

The International Bus from Udon Thani bus station isn't available for foreigners, only Thai and Laos people who don't need visas. On the window it says if you don't have a visa, you can't use the bus. It also says No E-Visas. I tried this recently based on info from the internet saying that with an E-Visa you can take the international bus. It's not possible for some reason with an E-Visa. The man at the window said this too. Only option is to take a van from Central to Nong Khai border for 55 baht. -
How soon can I get a visa extension.
bbi1 replied to Bazerino's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Not according to Jomtien Immigration, at least not today. In the past you could. Today they only allow you 7 days in advanced of the expiry of your entry stamp. See this thread: -
Been going to Jomtien Immigration for a while and always have done the 30 day extension after a 45 day exempt stamp within 2 weeks of arriving in Thailand. Today when I went to the front desk with the two ladies giving the queue numbers, one of them said I'm too early and need to come back 7 days before the expiry of my stamp. I told her in the past I've always been doing it early but she wouldn't give me a queue number and said come back 7 days before expiry. My question is, is this a new rule implemented by Jomtien Immigration recently where they don't let you extend until 7 days before your stamp expires? My stamp will expire around Songkran so I want to get this extension done asap before the big queues rush to get their extentions prior to Songkran.

How old is too old to use the ED visa?
bbi1 replied to Lemonlime's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Wasn't this changed to 1 year back in the crackdown in 2014? I was only able to get about a year's worth on an ED visa while going from the beginners all the way to advanced level from a legit expensive BKK language school that had no troubles with immigration during the crackdown, unlike other language schools. -
Sa Kaeo visa run into Cambodia
bbi1 replied to bbi1's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I believe Laos passport holders can get stamped out of Thailand and stamped back into Thailand without leaving the country. Not sure if this is only using a van service company though. -
That's why lots of young Thai chicks marry old farts. It's not for their handsome good looks, that's for sure!! I wouldn't say "the dream of most Thai women", but the dream of the hoes who's been selling their bodies in the past to make moolah.

Why are you assuming the OP is a lesbian? She could have a Thai husband, be in a defacto relationship with another woman or a man, or have a Thai bf or have a Thai gf. -
Sa Kaeo visa run into Cambodia
bbi1 replied to bbi1's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
What is this 300-500 baht Cambodia borders ask for? Is this "tea money" donation? Apparently Lao passport holders get 45 days each time they enter Thailand, entering from any country in the world. -
Anyone here recently done a visa run into Cambodia via Sa Kaeo? How is the border there into Cambodia? How many hours is the journey from BKK or Pattaya to this border crossing? In particular, how is this border for Laos citizens to do what they need to do to stay here in Thailand? Do Laos citizens actually have to cross over the border and back into Thailand or just get the required stamps issued within Thailand?

guy in room next to me wont stop smoking weed what can i do
bbi1 replied to yogavnture's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
You can report him to the authorities and he'll get fined. They are allowed to smoke as far as it doesn't cause a nuisance to others in the surrounding area, which they clearly are based on your post. -
Is Maneerat only able to help with no-shows for people on retirement visas or are they able to do other "creative" help with visas?

Previously it was proposed (I think it was January??) that all foreigners entering into Thailand were required to have insurance to be allowed entry into Thailand. Did this come into effect and if so, what are the specific requirements? If so, does this apply to land border crossings from Laos to Nong Khai?

Visa run Udon Thani to Nong Khai
bbi1 replied to thairat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Is this from the bus station near Central at Udon Thani? The bus picture says Vientiane to Nong Khai. Does it really start and end at Udon Thani? -
I suggest you go door knocking in Thong Lor at all the hi-so condos and houses with a suitcase of cash. That's the only way for you to snag those hi-so girls.
