Chinese Embassy Bangkok: Sinovac it is NOT a low quality vaccine
Aussieroaming replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Of course Sinovac works, it was engineered in the same laboratory as the virus and that works a treat. -
Why do you need to rebuild the country if the government hasn't destroyed it? Why not be specific and tell the people what parts of the country need rebuilding. Why not listen to and acknowledge the issues being raised by the people, instead of ignoring the voice of the people and accusing them of being wrong?

First thing you should do is check the pump filter unit and strainer for debri and make sure that they are clean, so that the water flow through the pump is adequate. If the filter and strainer are full of <deleted> then your auto pool cleaner wont work because it wont get enough suction pressure from the pump. Secondly the "manta" or creepy crawly joints needs to maintain a seal in order to work, so make sure that all of the hose connections along the length of the head and hose sections are all in good order, not split, well jointed and joints and ensure that no air is being sucked into the system at any join, as this will lead to a loss of suction on the auto head and it wony suck or move. Thirdly, prime the auto head line by making sure that the suction line between the head and pool pump connection point is full of water, otherwise the pump can get a big gutful of air and lose its prime before the vaccuum head gets moving. Finally, these devices aren't designed to suck rubble out of a pool, they suck fine grit and leaves of the bottom and sides of the pool only. If you have got tiling rubble in the pool then you need to get into the pool and clean it out by hand before using the auto pool vacuum.

I certainly wouldn't be building new condo buildings whilst the current condo glut is so evident. Yet I watch them building at least 5 new condo buildings near me that I can see from my condo and I am sure there are many others being built for the future hordes. Someone is heavily backing a rosy future.

The municipality should review the drone footage taken of recent Pattaya flooding and currently showing on youtube video's which clearly shows that a significant portion of the land on either side of the flooded Pattaya roads had minimal flooding, indicating quite clearly that the flood waters are running off of that catchment area and all that rain water is then draining into the road areas and therefore the roads actually become flood diversion channels, more like a canal design than a road, the opposite of what is needed. The entire catchment needs to be re-surveyed to understand the main runoff points and then catchment drainage channels need to be installed at these points to divert water away from the road network and into a settlement area to control any sediment running off and the water can then be released. Otherwise the roads will always become rivers because the current design channels the runoff to the roadway instead of away from it. And the underground storm drain piping obviously doesn't have the capacity for the instantaneous flowrates being introduced due to too much surrounding area catchment flows plus the road catchment flow itself. Trying to fix the beach erosion issue is pointless if the water ingress cause is never addressed.

Bangkok named No.1 among 150 ‘workation’ cities worldwide
Aussieroaming replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Bangkok - Rusted buses belching diesel fumes, broken footpaths, decaying buildings, rats crawling around rubbish, air quality that rivals New Delhi, terrible taffic congestion, drivers ignoring all road rules and without any common curtesy, stinking klongs, scooters on footpaths, fly blown wet market products, rip off taxis, poor english speaking skills, overpriced condos, corrupt cops scamming and shaking down foreigners......and thats the tip of the iceberg, welcome to your workation. -
A new, medium quality condo in Bangkok will likely cost you 150-200 thousand baht per square meter, more than 200 thousand for a new extra luxury quality condo. I paid 180 000 baht per Sq Meter (discounted from full list price) for my condo in 2018 and that was a nicely finished but not top end quality building and apartment. The square meter price range took into account a high floor, double corner condo (views to North, South and East), 3 bedroom/ 2 bathroom condo and distance to the BTS and shopping infrastructure. You could use this as an estimate how many square meters that a $100, 000 budget would buy you at that price per Square meter range if you wanted a new build in a similar locale. Don't assume that the Bangkok condo value will increase year on year either, I expect that my condo value has potentially dropped by as much as 40% or so during the last 3 years due to supply and demand in this area and Covid. Whereas many countries have seen a major uptick in real estate value during Covid the same cannot be said about the Thai Real Estate market, regardless of what real estate agencies might say. If I had to buy into a real estate growth market it would definitely be Singapore over Thailand. I cannot see Bangkok ever being a great place for long term real estate property value growth unless you owned a plot of land, which does appreciate. Condos are a dime a dozen. Just my opinion though and I could be wrong.

CX30 is a good value vehicle. I bought a mid level CX 3 because there are only two of us and it was good value but I did prefer test driving the CX30 and the CX30 had a nicer finish and more comfortable seating. The CX30 doesn't have a lot of rear seat legroom though, but it does have a good height profile on the road for its size. I live in Bangkok and I prefer a vehicle with more height than a sedan, both so that you have a better view around you and so that the passing scooter's handle bars are lower than the vehicle side mirror height, hence less chance of the mirrors getting wacked.

Aussieroaming replied to DrJack54's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Mine took about 8 weeks to come back in the mail. After I sent it and recieved the registered mail notification that it had been delivered I was happy enough to have that as evidence of compliance. -
Stuck in UK
Aussieroaming replied to Edward Abbott's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No need for UK account funds at all. Apply for your COE and determine whether you want to use a Bangkok ASQ or island quarantine, remembering you need to be vaxxed to go the non ASQ route. All information you need is on the Thai Embassy Website. -
The truth of the matter is that Thailand decided to vacinate based on economics as a priority, no geographical. The priority was in no particular order, Phuket for the "sandbox", Koh Samui whatever they called the program, Thai Medical staff (as it should be ),Thai employees of large companies. This article is merely more lies to hide the fact that old and vulnerable citizens were never deemed as important as the economically driven vaccinations

Phuket Sandbox is failing foreign tourists: tourism official
Aussieroaming replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
What they should be doing is asking all Tourists that come to Thailand to bring in a spare vaccine shot, as a donation in order to bolster the governments pitiful effort. -
We can all talk about the corruption but the corruption needs to be documented and laid bare by an investigative journalist, alas it seems that there aren't too many journalists in Thailand that are willing or capable of doing this. This joker cop is sitting in the middle of the chain of command, he is paying it forward like all other cops have too. The head of the snake isn't in view yet. The murder charge is one angle that needs to be bought to trial, the endemic corruption and money laundering requires a totally different investigation to the murder.
