As a vaccinated UK national visiting the UK...
Aussieroaming replied to RickG16's topic in UK & Europe Topics and Events
The UK Embassy and British Ambassador have stated that they fully trust the Thai System for the vaccination of UK Citizens. When I return to the UK after recieving my vaccintions I have absolutely no intention of undergoing any home or hotel quarantine, as long as I have full vaccination with a vaccine type endorsed by the UK Government. I will have been vaccinated according to the guidance given by the British Embassy in Thailand and if the British Government had wanted any further regulations followed then they should have taken a more active interest in their citizens vaccination process. -
Help - stuck in Phuket quarantine. No outside exercise for 2/52
Aussieroaming replied to Nurseynutcase's topic in Phuket
You will survive, the rest of us did. Walk in circles for 14 days, its boring but exercise. Also, ask the hotel if you can rent a bike or treadmill to while away the hours. I found the worse part was being forced to eat whatever the hotel designated for that day amn having no control over the quality or quantity of that food. Try not to look out of the window at all of the lucky, free people walking below, it becomes distracting to see them doing as they want while you are locked away. -
There will be two groups hunting this killer. The first group who want to catch him, that will be the small group that keeps getting harrassed by the higher ups not to look too deeply because they won't want the rotten cop ratting out them if he gets caught. The second group, which will be the larger group will want to find him in order to permanently shut him up . That's the group currently shuffling their illegal assets and cash around trying to find new hidey holes.

Go with flow or goal setting
Aussieroaming replied to Sparktrader's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I agree, we all need goals and they don't have to be big, but people need focal points to achieve results. I don't think of 5 year goals though, I think I would rather look at long term goals (my substitute for 5 years) and the goals we set ourselves to get through daily life. I think that most people do some goal setting but don't refer to it as such because everytime we set out to do something or achieve something we have automatically set a goal in order to achieve an outcome. -
The RTP won't be clean and corruption free until they clean it out of dirty cops, starting from the top down. That scumbag copper has obviously done this many times before in order to live a hiso life, not in line with his yearly wealth and he would have been greasing RTP senior management wheels ( his bosses) since day 1. You don't flaunt that sort of wealth if you haven't got protection.

COVID-19 Vaccination Tourism
Aussieroaming replied to Phoenix Rising's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
That latest expatvac site for one (about 3 or 4 weeks ago, heard nothing back after registering until yesterday, the British Chamber of Commerce for the second offer (registered only last Sunday) and the girl was helpful and was compiling future lists. Bumungrad was a direct phone call last week from my wife who explained I couldn't get registered anywhere and asked them to register me because I am 58 and 100kg and they said they would try and fit me in. We thought no chance but then got an offer. Good luck, the BCCT was very proactive in getting me on their list. -
COVID-19 Vaccination Tourism
Aussieroaming replied to Phoenix Rising's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
Don't give up on getting into a queue. I finally managed to get an AZ jab offer yesterday at Bangsue later in the week, followed an hour later by another offer for Pfizer at Bumangrad on Sunday, which was then followed a couple of hours later by another AZ offer at Bangrak, also for this week. Why I happened to get 3 offers yesterday after not hearing anything for ages was a shock to say the least. But I figure it means that the foreigners are finally cycling through. I am under 60 as well. -
Its difficult trying to simultaneously promote Thailand Islands as open for tourism and then harang foreigner tourists for not wearing masks. Maybe it would be better just to tell foreigners that they aren't welcome until the islanders are hungry enough to start canabilizing each other and therefore become a bit more tourist tolerant. If the foreign media carry these reports back to their home countries then it will be the Thais that will be wringing their hands again. Either the population is vaccinated enough to open for tourism or it isn't.

Survey Shows Thai People Using Savings during COVID-19 Pandemic
Aussieroaming replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I can only imagine how many default loans there must be within the banking and financial sector due to customers financial stress. I wonder how long before that starts to impact the on the liquidity of some financial institutions. -
6800 relief bags for selected family and friends of the MP's more likely. There are enough billionares in this country to feed every mouth until the pandemic ends if they stopped pillaging the assets and gave something back to the people. There have been some astounding stories of generosity over the last year in Thailand as groups of private people teamed up (Thai and Farang) to provid relief for poor people, these people and groups are real hero's, so thank you to those genuine teams that have been doing this.

Thailand's July exports beat forecast, but virus looms
Aussieroaming replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
This is the silver lining from a weakening baht. It should hardly be unexpected to see exports start to gain mometum as the baht currency retracts at a faster rate than any other currency in Asia. -
Leading Thai doctor says the Covid stats can't be trusted
Aussieroaming replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The argument that the hospitalization rate and number of hospital related covid deaths is a better method of ascertaining covid rates would only be logical if every person that was covid possible was able to enter the hospital system and thus become a hospital based statistic. Many people self test and isolate at home or present to hospital and get turned away because there aren't beds, these people aren't all officially tested and therefore don't become a covid statistic. Another group that don't enter the statistics are those people who are covid positive and asymptomatic or with mild illness. These people never enter the Thai covid database unless they report themselves to the government. When 50 000 people get tested and 20 000 positive results are confirmed it becomes pretty obvious that with such a high positive ratio that the daily covid count would be far higher if more tests were carried out. It wouldn't be 40% but it would likely be 10% or so, which is backed up by other sample tests which were carried out, that yielded a 10 and 13% infection rate respectively. -
Thailand could be first in ASEAN to produce vaccines
Aussieroaming replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
At last, an Asian first, a vaccine to cure verbal diarrea which will be tested for efficacy on the Minister for Verbal Diarrea, Anutin. -
Maybe you meant to direct your advise to the OP, I have already been through the process a year ago and I agree you need to weigh up the quality of advise given on facebook groups, plus rules and conditions change regularly, hence todays facts might be outdated information in a short period of time.

British Chamber Of Commerce Offering Vaccines to All
Aussieroaming replied to UKJASE's topic in Health and Medicine
Agreed, it isn't often that I wish I were 60 or fat or with a morbid disease. I will get treatment eventually and I am happy to wait until the high risk group have been catered for but I am not too impressed with the roll out speed or vaccine management in Banhkok. The British Chamber of Commerce are a blessing to have available and I appreciate that they are there working at helping people. My wife has had her first jab, so it will be nice to both be vacced eventually. -
The majority of these party goers should receive similar fines to the Thai kids who were busted last week partying. Any foreigner taking hard drugs however is an absolute fool and sjould expect to be prosecuted according to the law. We are all sick of lockdown and if the Samui plus and Phuket sandbox's are to suceed then the government will have to accept that these vaccinated tourist centres need to be seen to be opened up and safe to enjoy without fear of being busted for having honest and harmless fun ( no drugs).

SURVEY: Sandbox -- the way to go or just a failing PR stunt?
Aussieroaming replied to Scott's topic in Thailand News
Sandbox is far better than Bangkok quarantine, that is my personal view after doing Bangkok quarantine. However the scheme won't benefit Phuket until Phuket re-opens to domestic tourism as well. -
British Chamber Of Commerce Offering Vaccines to All
Aussieroaming replied to UKJASE's topic in Health and Medicine
58 and no work permit which obviously has been a slight holdback in regards to getting a jab. -
My personal experience with the Thai Embassy in London and getting COE's and visa was extremely positive when I communicated directly via email. Have you joined any of the facebook groups for farang stranded abroad, there is one for the UK. These groups discuss application issues and always offer methods being used to resolve the stumbling block issues. Good Luck
