Agreed, it seems that the German construction is deemed pretty good. -
I have been told twice now by the attending IO that I should only present 1 x bank account to prove that I have sufficient funds. For some reason they don't like having to process more that one account but they will process both accounts if you present more than one, so don't stress about your account dip as long as your total provable funds never dropped below the limit required.

New Zealander Dies In Fall From Kanchanaburi Train
Aussieroaming replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand
More likely that the door fell off of the busted a r s e d train and he fell out. Trains aren't exactly amongst Thailands finest transport options. -
I think that the expat brands available at Big C are dependent on the farang demographic in that area and whether it is a Big C superstore. I live across the road from Big C Saphan Kwai and have shopped there for 5 years but I prefer the variety at Big C Ladprao. I am sure that the expat content in Thonglor or Ekkamai would be greater than our store and also more in demand. I prefer getting my expat items from Tops or Gourmet Market as I find the Big C stock is often "stale" or nearly out of date.

Police academy admission exam scam complaint received by CSD
Aussieroaming replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I wouldn't have called it a scam, I would have thought it was fraudulent. Anyway the cheating recruits will fit right in with their more senior peers. -

You can sell or buy second hand goods, vehicles or properties on Kaidee or if it's a property on Baanfinder as a couple of examples. -
Jomtien condo bookings for 1 week - weird messages from owners
Aussieroaming replied to henrik2000's topic in Pattaya
If you want to stay in an apartment for less than one month then you need to either stay in a hotel that also has serviced apartments on the premises or you need to stay in an authorized condotel, as condotels can lease condo's as they have hotel accreditation. Leasing condos'/apartments in private condo buildings for less than one month are illegal regardless of the booking platform that you used. If you do proceed with a booking you can be removed from the apartment by the Juristic Management Team without any recourse to recover any money's already paid by you to the condo owner. -
Seawalls: A boon or bane for Thailand’s beautiful beaches?
Aussieroaming replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yeah Cha-am Beach is a great example of how the local economy can destroy a local attraction. Instead of being a beautiful promenade and beach it is a festering canker due to unregulated industry destroying the local area. -
Brexit has cracked Britain’s economic foundations
Aussieroaming replied to webfact's topic in World News
Exit the EU without plans, procedures or new economic partners in place and its a dismal failure. However ask the instigators of Brexit and they will gloss over the devastated economy and pretend that some "minor" economic pain was inevitable whilst the new partnerships bedded in. The British economy is headed towards a Greek like fall from grace, which will take years to recover from. Who will suffer during this time? Not the politicians who are mainly silver Spooner, it will be the average Brits who are working hard on minimum wage and slowly starving to death while the politicians line their own pockets. -
Chinese businessman Tuhao’s Thai wife and business partner arrested
Aussieroaming replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
The RTP corruption never ends, every day of every week there are stories involving dirty cops. The wife will be one player amongst other RTP involved in facilitating the money laundering. The Chinese crim is cleaner than the RTP. -
RIP to the driver and condolences to the family. Given that the majority of damage is on the side wing of the vehicle on the passenger side and the passenger survived with minor injuries I would guess that the driver may have actually died of a heart attack or something. The front drivers side didn't suffer much if any impact damage. Poor kid having to deal with his dad dying at Christmas, I really feel sorry for him.
