  1. Phew. Thanks. You really had me worried for a moment.
  2. The Earth is what!?
  3. Un-skilled people who join this forum are more advantaged than yer average DIY'ers. There is stacks of help and core knowledge here so there should be no reason not to jump in and do it yourself so to speak. Help and support is here if needed.
  4. So it must be down to you that we are having such a dull, overcast day today.
  5. Please excuse but what is SPD?
  6. My old chemistry teacher looked like that too but this was pre Alf Garnet. Ours got the name "Bilko" as in the cartoon character Sergeant Bilko.
  7. If you are anywhere near Buriram, Ruangsangthai have some 350W (I think) for 3,250 each.
  8. I didn't know damp was a problem. I have always thought oxygen was the nasty one. I can understand the electrolysis caused by different metals but that is usually in a solution of dirty water. I once tried lubricating grease but that didn't help at all. Copper oxidised quite nicely after a few weeks.
  9. I use Vaseline on my terminals and bus bars. keeps the copper shiny and bright for ever.
  10. Good point. This just goes to show how successful these original British products are. I don't think ownership of the companies reflects on the quality of the product in this case.
  11. About 5 years ago or thereabouts I placed an order for a sizeable sodium ion battery for my solar system. Never got them though because the manufacturer in Canada (I think) went under. Didn't cost me anything though. You might like to look at Faradion on the internet. They are producing some pretty good kit. some of it is very big and is intended for stationary installations like solar ESS or remote coms installations etc. There is also sodium battery technology for EVs from Faradion. https://faradion.co.uk/
  12. You're right but it would probably depend on how the airline decides to (gradually) do it.
  13. Well done Crossy. It would have taken me ages to get that spelling right.
  14. A million Baht in 9 months? That's a lot of units.
  15. Airlines have been trying to recoup their losses from the Covid restrictions. My perception is that prices went up by 50% then so a reduction of 20% still leaves the airlines 30% better off than they were pre-covid.
  16. Yeah sounds about right but also putting some effort into selecting the wrong leader...........several times. Very little effort seems to have been expended on post brexit deals for the national benefit.
  17. Whether the EU is better off or not is not the point. Many wonderful new changes were promised some years ago but very little has happened. What exactly have these dreaming politicians been doing all these years?
  18. Definition of idiot which I used is; a stupid person. "I feel like an idiot who swallowed every lie I was told" From the English Oxford dictionary Productive or not this seems to fit quite well and is based on how a person feels when the truth comes out.
  19. I don't qualify as a "brexit supporter" but I will point out the part where Boris failed to tell the truth and many idiots actually beleived him.
  20. Ha Ha Ha 40 years ago there was a lot less traffic so being like a lunatic was almost safe.
  21. That link is a very interesting and revealing read. It seems that rather than plod along making money from selling electricity, one would be better off selling the company that makes the power. I was under the impression that it is illegal for UK government bodies to "invest" public money because of the risk factor.
  22. From the looks of things it seems a bad idea for all forms of government to get involved in energy production. https://news.sky.com/story/stricken-council-backed-solar-farms-giant-to-shine-light-on-auction-12772777 So if anyone has a few million £ you might like to buy a ready made going concern with thousands of solar panels etc.
  23. Not a problem. Submarines are designed to sink
  24. Yes. In bad weather, all watertight doors are supposed to be closed and all crew members are ordered to don life jackets.
