Just go the your capital cities Thai Consulate website and download it from there..... They're basically all identical except that each Consulate has their own address at the top. -
Documentation for E-visa Applications
bangkok19 replied to DoctorB's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I used my Canon Scanner to scan the documents.. it scans and sends the image to the connected PC as a (default) jpeg file. If you have multiple documents for where you can only upload only 1... my plan was to get the multiple documents and fold each one so as to only reveal the pertinent info.. i.e. names, dates & amounts... then overlap them all just showing that info.... then scan, and upload them as 1 document. After you submit everything and eventually get approval they might ask for the documents when you take in your passport and application form. -
Bangkok, Jakarta, and Manila are among top sinking Asian cities
bangkok19 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It'a all about the money, money, money! Many scientists and Uni professors know the truth, but if they don't toe the line (and preach the climate alarmism) they lose their jobs! That makes a mockery of your (quote) "95% of scientists." It's the rich and wealthy pushing this "alarmism" along as there's money to be made. Some Governments are reluctantly setting 100% renewable targets for fear of losing overseas trading partners. It's all about the money! The so-called "climate models" they use have always been way off the mark. You can blind with me your 'science' all you like... but I'm the one not wearing blinkers. FYI - I did actually go to school and the Albedo effect contributed to the Ice Age as well as the warming... the "cycle" remember? And that's my final say on the matter. I win! -

This Forum is about the closest thing to social media I use! I'm not a scientist but my mind is OPEN to both sides of the Climate argument. I also know (for example) that closing down coal-fired power stations will not stop all flooding, droughts and bushfires. Because of all the Climate alarmism in the world YOU have been sucked in... just like some of the school children that are scared out of their wits thinking the world is going to end in 5 years time!! That's the climate religion being preached by their school teachers. The "Three R's" in the kid's school curriculum has been reduced to include "climate change". Kids leave school not knowing some of the basics in written English and Arithmetic but can quote the fallacies about climate change they learn from their teacher or read on Twitter by some so-called "influencer". To state the obvious - the climate has been changing (in cycles) since Earth and time (as we know it) began... however now it's become an Industry... especially for power - Governments subsidizing Renewable Energy companies who will eventually pocket a huge profit thank you very much. It's all about the money! .....and guess who pays for it at the end of the day? Me.. in higher (yet unreliable) energy prices. You'll be sitting in your bunker with your laptop powered by your pedal-powered generator for years to come waiting for the world to end.... GET OUT and enjoy the world, it's not all doom and gloom! -

YOU'RE LOOKING AT AN OUTDATED N.A.S.A. REPORT. Their recent report (dated April, 2022) paints a much less dramatic picture. Periods of abnormal hot weather have been part of the climate cycle for tens of thousands of years.... As I previously said.. it's a 'religion' and unfortunately there are folks out there that are part of the brethren. With all the news agencies in the world quoting so-called climate experts, there is just as much info out there AGAINST climate change as there is FOR it. People quote the "science" but sometimes the originator of the 'science' have an agenda. -

bangkok19 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
ALARMISM is what we don't need but as long as the Climate Industry (sorry, 'religion') forces this stuff down our throats the facts are pushed to one side and ignored. It's a money-making industry with Governments throwing money (in subsidies) to organisations and (already wealthy) multinationals that are trying ways to make renewable energy and keep the planet greener. N.A.S.A. says global "warming" is not a bad thing. Crops are in abundance worldwide more than ever, the islands in the South Pacific are actually rising and not sinking, and cyclones worldwide have decreased over the past 30 years. Serious flooding in another 8 years?? Really? The sea levels haven't risen that fast in the past 800 years. Unfortunately $$$$ and alarmism get in the way of the facts. -
Best/Favorite coffeeshops? Best for Digital Nomads?
bangkok19 replied to JimmyJ's topic in Chiang Mai
Yes, there is a beauty that (nearly) matches your description in the Old City around the corner from the Anodard Hotel. Obviously not near Nimman district but has large (real) Iced Cappucino's for 80 Baht plus Mocha's, Latte's etc... if you pay 100 baht you get free refills. They also serve light snacks (Thai & Western)... I think the cafe is farang owned with Thai cook. It's like the obsolete Internet cafes except you BYO computer. The seats are cushioned with lumbar supports. Every table near the walls have power and USB sockets. The room is very spacious (sufficient safe distancing) and the air cond. is a constant comfortable 23 degrees. And for you, and others like-minded.. there are small terry towelling hand towels that can be scrunched up and stuffed in your gob (under your face mask) to prevent you from having L O U D conversations on Skype with your headphones on! Bloody irritating (and selfish)! -
Thailand further eases entry restrictions for international travellers

Please explain? Does that $10K apply to the 1 year Covid/Health Insurance required for the Non Imm O-A Visa? I'm about to get some Covid/Health Ins. with a Thai Ins. Company. Should I wait? -
Need 36 day visa.
bangkok19 replied to Kermit2404's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Best bet is to get your Visa in Australia before you leave. I always submit my application for the Tourist Visa about a month before departure at the Sydney Consulate. It takes usually 2 working days. I usually do it in person at the Consulate.. just in case I've forgotten something. Don't forget to have some decent Health Insurance for your trip. I'd double check whether they require Covid Insurance incl. in the Health Ins. In the past I've been using the Health/Travel Insurance that comes with the Mastercard used to pay for the airfares however they don't have Covid cover. Main advantage of doing all this in Australia is... you know it's done! No extra queue and paperwork at Swampy Airport. -
It didn't sound at all like Jenny. Also, when I said I was an old customer (if it was Jenny) she would have asked my name.

Thanks... I rang that number and a lady (in well spoken English) told me NONE of the original P.P. staff were working there. Half a dozen of the staff that were working at the original Patpong premises had been working there for over 20 years... and one of them (Eet), for over 30 years. Because I was seeing mostly the same staff every time I visited, I took the joint for granted.. never bothering to get any of their LINE I.D.'s. I'd sometimes ring them of an evening 10 minutes out to pre order my Pizza. Back in the 80's, when Patpong was THE most popular "entertainment" strip in BKK the Madrid was buzzing. The shelves were overflowing with half bottles of Mekhong Whiskey with the (owners) customer's name on it. Standing room only. Several of the regulars from the Texxan (Washington Sq) who were known CIA identities (to the regulars) told their stories to a select few. "Standing Pat" aka Pat Landry never used to sit down (hence the nickname).. was high up in the CIA intelligencia and has featured in a couple of books that are Vietnam/Laos conflict related. To think that the Madrid, with so much history had survived so many changes to that famous road would end 'just like that'. It witnessed most of the single shophouses being gutted and extended, the closure to vehicular traffic and the settling-in of the Patpong Markets. Hopefully some of the displaced staff are working nearby so I can catch up and share some memories. Methinks that the Crown Royale in PP2 would be the perfect fit.. I must check it out next visit!

Do I need another insurance for NON -OA
bangkok19 replied to funkykyle's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I'm doing the same thing.. and recently asked the same question to the Thai Consulate in Sydney AND Canberra (via email). They both gave me the same conflicting/confusing answer - telling me to download the list of approved Thai Insurers to use, and ALSO to fill out the Foreign Insurance Certificate. For me, the way they list the Visa requirements is confusing. There should be a big "OR" in between the paragraphs Thai Insurance Company and Foreign Insurance Company (requiring that appropriate Certificate). Then again, what do you expect!???? -
Whilst we're on the topic... is THE MADRID still open in Patpong #1? I'm hangin' out for a large "Madrid Special" Pizza.

Thai Airways Adds Boeing 777-300ERs to Meet Increasing Demand
bangkok19 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
We need extra flights on the SYDNEY/BKK route! Alternatively, resurrect the A380's and use them on the existing schedule. EMIRATES used A380's previously on the SYD to BKK route until mid 2019. With half the flight spent in the Business Class bar you're at your destination in no time. (and the airfare for Emirates Business was AUD 1,200 cheaper than TG at the time). The TG Bankrupcy was probably a godsend... otherwise they'd probably still be using their antiquated 747's. -
I can remember a guy had a shop on the 4th floor in the old WORLD TRADE CENTRE in Bangkok (now called Centralworld) who bought and sold Omega timepieces. I (foolishly) sold him one of my Omega "Moonwatches"... I think I got $2K for it. He had about 60 or 70 antique to modern Omega's on display. It was always fascinating stopping by his shop to gaze at the wonderful display of timepieces... this would have been the 90's. Sorry I'm no help.. I saw your thread title and got all nostalgic.

I'm applying for a Non Immigrant O-A Visa in my home country for a long stay in Thailand. I have emailed both the Thai Consulates in Sydney and Canberra regarding the (blank) Foreign Insurance Certificate that you can download from their websites. Both their responses did not quite answer my question. What is the Foreign Insurance Certificate actually for? I assumed (as they use the word 'Foreign') that I only used this form if I am using an Australian Health Insurer for my Covid/Health Insurance i.e, Medibank Private. They tell me this is the form I fill out when I use a Thai Insurer (from their list). If that is the case, how do I get their info and signature on the form and call it an 'original'.. so I can make a certified copy? Does this mean there are two lots of Insurance documents? On the Visa Application website there are 2 paragraphs requiring 2 Health Insurance documents. Thai Health Insurance AND Foreign Insurance Certificate! If I use a Thai Health Insurer what is the ACTUAL document required? Am I missing something?

India won't say anything negative about the Russian invasion of the Ukraine because Russia supplies ALL India's weapons... India is stuck between a rock and a hard place i.e. neighbouring China is causing skirmishes along their border and Pakistan (another neighbour) is a constant threat. India recently signed up to a 4 Nation pact (Australia, U.S.A., Japan, India) basically to flex their muscles at China... Yes, India's silence on this is deafening!

"Climate change, diversity, gender" Maybe a statue of a katoey and some wind turbines and solar panels.... PLEASE... leave the park alone, it's still green... and considered the lungs of Bangkok. Hopefully, to pay for this unnecessary "upgrade" they DON'T have a two-tiered Park admission fee at the front gate.

I'm sure if they dredged the River they'd find many more. It's one more scenario to think about as you sit on the banks of the River enjoying a cold beer watching the passing parade.....
