Look at Australia. They've had harder lockdowns that Thailand, and they're still getting cases. Harder lockdowns does not address the problem. It just delays the inevitable.
Partly.
Because lockdowns will ease the situation in hospitals

They got their priorities mixed up: they let the Delta variant in, and kept the Pfizer/Moderna vaccines out.
Not really.
True is they couldn't get those vaccines because not enough on the market.
Also they bought from China.
And now I would say it's hard to spend money again for "real vaccines".
But hey, how about to sell some submarines? ????

Limited testing from the beginning and not importing a good vaccines (not Sinovac) is IMO the reason Thailand is up the creek along with the backward thinking of wait and see from the PM and DPM .
Well, that happens if you relying and depending on China ignoring advices from Western countries.
"We are Thais, we don't need advices"????

What's the point in doing this?
It's time to forget about Sinovac and vaccinate the masses with the alternatives that do offer some sort of protection.
You're right.
However, the problem is when those Western vaccines will arrive?
Imagine, you have to start from scratch.
And.... ordering and delivering doesn't go together.
To get Thai population to be vaccinated you have to buy at least about 60 million, considering those they got Sinovac would need only one shot.
How this should happen and when?
Definitely not this year. ????
-
Obviously Sinovac doesn't give even a similar protection as Biontec or Moderna. (Astrazeneca is less effective)
It's crucial then to order only 20 million of others to protect Thai people considering you have to vaccinate the Sinovacs with a booster of those mentioned above.
We all know that this govt is a failsure per se.
But the western countries should rethink their "Me First " policy.
If the poor countries are not be vaccinated in near future (Africa eg) we will have more variants and at the end the vaccines of the main effective are not working anymore.
So the profitable game will start again ???? and Covid will stay and kill many years more

Register with another hospital.
Who comes first will give you the jab. ????

She honestly believes it will help prevent it.
Belief is everything in Thailand ????

oh well.
Depends on one's brain. Some get it straight and others need extra lessons and a low of repetition.

strange how it makes the national newspapers in Thailand, but YOU don’t think it’s “worth to mention”.
perhaps the issue is that YOU aren’t interested, but others might be?
Obviously it had to be repeated on and on for others to believe and understand ????

Former red-shirt leader Nattawut Saikua has just posted on Facebook that he has tested positive for #COVID19. “I was vaccinated with 1 dose of AstraZeneca vaccine on 8th June. On 8th July I went to test for COVID-19. I was told a moment ago that I have tested positive.”

And what you want to tell us?
It's already well known that you can have Covid between 2 jabs.
So not worth to mention ????.
However, if YOU didn't know.......

Yes we can all fly back home where Thai nationals didn't have to wait or be put at the back of the line.
That's absolutely true. Thais are not treating foreigners as we do in our countries. We help them to integrate, but here we are separated and if possible dumped after they got our money. We are the flock to be exploited up to the last blood drop. But anyway it's up to us to look for a better country or just to stay. So enjoy:

The so-called third wave started mid-April and we all know why and has continued on an upward trajectory. It's still the third wave. This would have to be brought completely under control before another wave can be called a fourth wave.
You're right, but I have my doubts that a different number of waves will change the result: Thailand will face rising cases as predicted by Thai doctors. If you want to know the future just have a look what happened in EU or US or many other contries in the world. ????

about half of expats will be at mercy of the second part of the vax program, middle/end of autumn
Not really.
All Europeans can take a flight back to their home country and get the jab there . (Americans to US)
If you choose Johnson it's a once off moment.
If Biontech/Moderna there are two flights necessary.
So if you're afraid of getting Covid you are free to travel.
Otherwise wait for actions of this caring govt ????

So what? ????
