  1. Op obviously knows this and yet is brazen enough to ask someone to do it anyhow. Go jump would be my response.
  2. Usually, what goes up in charges, rarely ,if ever, comes down again. Not so with the feed back rate as it has shown to be in Aus. Rate varied and at times went up to around the 10 cent/unit level when gov was pushing for people to install systems. Every July or therabouts, it is re-hashed now down to a lower level, currently around 6.5c/unit. Feed rate is around 20c/unit standard domestic power, 15c for off peak hot water tarif. This is apart from the few who invested large sums initially way back when solar first took off and have a feed back rate of around 44c/unit. (Pollies made a whopping stuff up there) Most could only afford a 1.5Kw system back then. This 44c scheme is due to finish very soon. Just saying, thoughts of installing grid tie based on feed back rate at any one time should be aware it can and does, go down. I get around it in a small fashion by having storage hot water unit on the grid power but disconnect with a timer between the hours of 4pm and 9am next day. There is the odd day when it rains and low solar is produced but overall ok.
  3. Just going by your photo March 2......No need to be an A.hole about it........
  4. With reference to "irregular" I guess that depends on where one actually looks. If you are referring to the "2925mm" then I guess you might call that irregular but case in point, this is centre to centre, outer dimension in this example is a neat 6000mm. Sometimewoodworker, that is SOME fan you have there........ ???? OK then I guess I'll stick to internals and go from there. Placement of the support posts is not really a concern at this point, as you say, the draughtsman will sort that. Cheers Jeff
  5. On the plan views or on the elevation views, dimensions between uprights ( for want of a better word perhaps vertical support posts) Some plans I see are taken centre to centre, whereas others will be external. In the first plan I drew up for example (only a land rice shack.....no requirement for draughtsman etc) some I have made as external whereas others internal. I imagine it would be a point of confusion if normally the two were mixed as this and wondered if there is a standard i.e. internal or external.
  6. Cavity style seems a good move but I'm not so sure about how the cavity was concrete filled and especially encasing what appears to be junction boxes. Any joints in there could be susceptible to failure and being completely encased no way to fix in the future. As well as having bungs missing for the concrete fill to enter the boxes.
  7. Even a bit of washing up detergent.........
  8. Notice you use the centreline of the uprights as main dimensions which would in most instances be the room interior sizes. Is that the conventional method in Thailand?
  9. Obviously never had any commercial experience then.
  10. Wife and I are waiting for the entry restrictions to be removed completely. There's 2........hope someone in authority reads this stuff.

  12. If it did indeed start straight after the maintenance on the fan coil was done, then possible the return air sensor has been damaged or displaced during the cleaning process. Most rental premises , it is the responsibility of the renter to pay for any repair work done.
  13. Normally running storm water into sewer lines is forbidden..........
  14. Pools always were a ruddy great hole in the ground you put money in anyhow.......????
  15. If that's the case, then it'll be diy. After all, only a day's work.
  16. Would have been my natural instinct also....not only in Thailand but anywhere.
  17. Exactly....which is why the Op's "investigation" may well reveal <deleted> all.
  18. Hi Crossy, Yes, just standard grid tie system and feed the storage HWS on a timer. Same same as I have here in Aus except no feedback. BTW is there a no-feedback relay one can get from electrical supply shops or is it a PEA item? No intention of going battery at all. Contractor or DIY, guess it depends on what the contractors charge. If say like rac installers, it's hardly worth my dragging gear out to do it myself. Cheers Jorgo ( electrical/electronics contractor)
  19. Hope he has done his homework regarding the operation of drones. Might end up having his " previously unseen footage" used to lock him up due to violation of local aviation laws.
  20. Look in Crossy's house plans (Thai free plans) as they should have details on floor thickness etc. etc. Usual for many is 100mm 20mpa. with underfloor beams as appropriate for single level.
  21. I use a 250 litre storage hot water system with a timer to isolate outside daylight hours as an "energy storage" from the solar panels. Can add up to quite a lot over a 12 month period. More in winter months but approx. $400 per annum. As an example, the feedback rate in Aus is currently around 6 cents a unit, whereas consumption rate even on off peak tarrif is around the 22 cent mark. More in winter months but pre-solar cost was approx. $400 per annum and virtually maintenance free. Last storage unit here was replaced only due to the flood and was over 25 years old, cost AUD$1,000. Water quality is rather good though as others in different areas of the same city replace every 10 years or so due to being eaten out with rust or not replacing the anode when required. Looking at a similar arrangement when building in Thailand. Any links to current Thailand domestic no-feedback solar install costs?
  22. Looked at several and this seemed to be well supported with good online tutorials. "copy" function had me for a while but eventually through watching and trial and error, have it by the balls now. Thanks Sometimewoodworker. Currently practicing on a "land rice shack" ( looking around 100k Baht) with a couple of small rooms, semi-outdoor kitchen, shower, all ok for now.
